Electric field computation in presence of water droplets on a polymeric insulating surface 聚合物绝缘表面水滴存在时的电场计算

In this paper electric field enhancement factor has been computed due to presence of different volumes of single as well as multiple water droplets on a polymeric insulating surface. Outdoor polymeric insulators are exposed to different environmental conditions like rain, fog, salted fog etc. Hence the formation of discrete water droplets on the surface are very common. These water droplets cause the electric field enhancements at the triple points (interfacial point of three dielectric mediums i.e. solid, liquid and air) which may lead to external partial discharge or even flashover. Hence, in this contribution, the electric field computation has been performed due to presence of discrete water droplets using Finite Element Method under tangential AC electric field. To overcome the singularity problem of calculating electric field at the triple points, a different method of field calculation have been presented in this contribution which may provide better understanding of the electric field distribution in presence of water droplets on a insulating surface.

Design of a novel error detection and correction scheme for pipeline and other multi-stage ADCs with a mono comparator per stage pipeline like architecture 设计了一种新的误差检测和校正方案,适用于流水线和其他多级adc,每级采用类似流水线结构的单比较器

The paper describes a novel design that minimizes the effect of small offset errors in comparators of pipeline ADCs. This simple but effective error detection and correction scheme enables to eliminate the requirement of redundant comparators in the stages of a Pipeline ADC. A one bit per stage pipeline like architecture is also proposed. Implementing a single bit per stage design, using mono comparator per stage architecture leads to lower power consumption and eliminates the extra cost involved for redundant bits in a pipeline ADC. This error detection scheme is capable of minimizing error in Algorithmic, Successive Approximation or other multi stage or multi step ADCs. The proposed scheme was simulated as well as implemented in hardware using various discrete components and ICs. The developed error correction logic works properly for small comparator offset errors and exhibits fairly accurate results in simulation and as well as in hardware implementation. The designs, if fabricated in IC form, can be a low cost low power alternative to conventional pipeline architectures with a high resolution at a high speed with reasonably good accuracy, though requiring less area and consuming less power.

State estimation of radial distribution network using a PMU and sample shifting technique 基于PMU和样本移位技术的径向配电网状态估计

The main objective of this paper is to estimate the states (i.e. voltage magnitude and angle δ) of the buses in a radial distribution network with the help of a Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) placed at the sending end (SE). The remote bus parameters are estimated using the samples of voltage and current signals only of the local bus end where a PMU is placed. The estimated parameters are verified with the standard load flow techniques. The verification of results proves its utilization for online load flow analysis and the reduction of the number of PMUs to one. Hence the requirement of multiple PMUs at the different buses and their associated communication systems is no longer required.

Dynamic adjustments of the D-Q axes reference voltage limits during flux weakening and MTPA control of an IPMSM drive for an EV application 电动汽车用IPMSM驱动器磁链减弱和MTPA控制过程中D-Q轴参考电压限值的动态调整

Electric Vehicles (EV) or Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) require an electric motor which has high power density, high efficiency and a wide constant power operating region with flux weakening (FW) capability. Three phase Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (IPMSMs) meet these criteria and are hence used in most commercial electrified vehicles. This work presents analysis, control system design and simulation of the Maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control strategy in the two-axes (d-q) rotor reference frame. The control is applied on a custom-designed three-phase EV traction IPMSM for an electric scooter direct-drive up to base speed and beyond the base speed with flux-weakening control taking care of the machine's voltage and current constraints. A novel way to dynamically change the limits of the d-axis and q-axis reference voltages yet remaining within the machine's voltage constraints is presented in this paper in order to exploit the large flux-weakening range effectively.

Detection and identification of ECG waves by histogram approach 用直方图法检测和识别心电波

A histogram based simple and novel idea is proposed here for detection and identification of R wave, P wave and T wave from noise removal ECG Signal. The identification of ECG waveforms and their characteristic features is an important task for the diagnosis. In this work, histograms, a graphical demonstration of numerical data of equal size, is used as an estimator of the above mentioned waves of ECG signal. For this purpose the whole signal is divided into few small windows of predefined width having maximum 60 sample values in each. The Histograms are basically generated by measuring the variations of the orientations among these sample values in some quantized directions. After getting the histograms, few zones are depicted as QRS zones having the area more than a pre-defined threshold. The local maxima of these zones are considered as the R-peak. Based on same technique, P and T wave can also be detected. The method is advantageous as it can be used directly for online analysis without using any complex mathematical models. The whole technique has been established to be useful to a variety of ECG records for all the 12 leads taken from CSE Multi-lead ECG database which contains 5000 samples recorded at a sampling frequency of 500Hz. The algorithm is implemented on MATLAB R2010a environment. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated. The accuracy of the proposed technique is achieved in Sensitivity (Se=99.86%), Positive Predictivity (+p=99.76%) and Detection accuracy (DA 99.8%) and hence we conclude that the proposed technique may be used for ECG analysis and classification.

Direct and indirect measurements of power system states in off-nominal condition 非标称状态下电力系统状态的直接和间接测量

Wide area measurement is significant for modernized control of power system. Phasor measurement unit (PMU) being the prime element for wide area measurement system (WAMS), it provides proper feedback to the closed looped controller to take proper steps during power system transients. This paper aims to measure the state of six bus power system in off-nominal frequency condition. To achieve this firstly a three phase PMU is simulated using recursive algorithm and then the algorithm is made frequency adaptive by re-sampling. Pseudo measurement using ABCD parameter is also proposed and implemented.

Hybrid Huffman coding scheme for efficient and secured condition monitoring of a substation 用于变电站高效安全状态监测的混合霍夫曼编码方案

This paper aims to monitor a substation from a centralized control station based on the data related to different buses and their secured and efficient communication. The data of the buses in a substation may primarily consist of the bus number, magnitudes of voltage, current, delta angle etc. In order to ensure data security while sending the bus information to a centralized monitoring station, the authors have proposed a hybrid data compression technique where Differential Pulse Code Modulation (DPCM) is first applied on the original data followed by Huffman coding. This results in efficient monitoring of a substation. Moreover, the data compression ratio is also found to be well within the limit. This has further enhanced the data security as well.

The electronics for signal conditioning of the IE output pulse trains, elimination of input glitches and pulse multiplier for resolution enhancement are well-established hardware and all state-of-the-art DMCs have on-chip module of the same. The rate estimation algorithms based on the encoder pulse counts, however, tend to become erroneous at low rotational speeds. This problem is usually circumvented by a reciprocal counting mechanism, where the time between two successive IE pulses is measured to estimate the rotational rate. This paper proposes a seamless switching protocol between the two rate computing methods and presents the design of an Incremental Encoder Signal Conditioner (IESC) and its FPGA-based implementation that embeds the direct and reciprocal rate computation algorithms along with the automated changeover mechanism between the two for a more accurate estimation of rotational speed in a wide range of rotational speeds. The paper also presents the performance of the IESC over a large range of rotational rates.

An intelligent energy management system to optimise demand response in Smart Micro Grids 优化智能微电网需求响应的智能能源管理系统

This paper proposes the development of an intelligent Energy Management System (EMS) at consumer end to utilize the sensitivities of the local renewable generation, battery backup and Plug In Electric Vehicle resources to the changes in grid power input and price of electricity for utility and Demand Response optimization in Smart Micro Grids. In Demand Response usually the price elasticity of demand is considered as per statistical data. In this work the development of an optimized Demand Response(DR) has been depicted for reliable and efficient operation of Micro grids with Smart Communication facility. A housing complex, in the proposed work has been viewed as a future micro-grid and it has been demonstrated that the EMS developed can be effectively programmed to minimize the consumer payment by efficient utility and load management with the assistance of pricing signals from the Smart Grid. The choice of Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) was compelling for the nonlinear nature of the optimization surface. The results obtained from simulation looked promising from context of future Smart Micro Grids.

Effect of lightning on soil characteristics with and without underground cable 有无地下电缆时雷电对土壤特性的影响

Indirect lightning stroke i.e. discharge between cloud and ground has strong impact on the UG (Under Ground) cable insulation. In this paper, the impact of lightning stroke in UG cable is investigated. High current carried by lightning stroke to ground creates breakdown channel in soil if the resulting field exceeds soil breakdown strength. Through this channel current can reach cable and if the resulting field generated on cable surface exceeds breakdown strength of cable insulation then also the cable can damage. So proper assessment of Electric field distribution in soil and on cable surface due to lightning current is necessary to envisage proper planning of protection scheme and strategy for mitigating severity to UG cable. In this paper, a complete study is done to investigate electric field distribution in soil due to lightning stroke, minimum lightning current required for soil breakdown, current intercepted by buried cable and overvoltage generated on cable surface due to that current. Also the effects of various factors like soil resistivity, cable location, lightning strike position, lightning current etc. are studied.
