abstract Ubuntu has become a galvanising concept that brings African and Diasporic peoples into dialogue with one another and its aspirations for both. However, the space of the university and the prescriptions of academia often reflect colonial logics and engage in complex re-enactments or perpetuations of colonial erasure of Black female bodies, voices, and practices. Using our shared experiences of engaging Ubuntu at the Ubuntu Dialogues conference in Stellenbosch, South Africa, we experiment with the process of writing as a form of disruptive academic praxis of care work informed by spirituality, creative expression, and spatial embodiment. We engage in collective reflexiveness and writing on the exclusion of care practice in higher education and how Black feminists’ care subverts these subtle and overt forms of erasure of Black knowledge, contributions, work, practice, and intellectual thinking. Furthermore, a Black feminist ethics and poesis of care attends to the physical ableist heteronormative, patriarchal space that requires complicity in colonial violences. We show that inserting our voices and bodies into the work at the intersection of care, praxis, and knowledge generation is a collaborative act of care cultivation done by Black women for Black women and benefitting all peoples/bodies. Our reflective essay foregrounds care at the contours of a Black feminist conception of Ubuntu.

Black women academics in the United States of America and South Africa deploying principles of Feminist Decoloniality as Care (FEMDAC) to confront experiences with microaggressions 美利坚合众国和南非的黑人女性学者运用“女权主义去殖民主义即关怀”原则来面对微侵犯的经验

abstract While several studies detail the experiences of university students with racial and gender harassment, bullying, and microaggressions, few explore these phenomena among Black women faculty members in higher education transnationally. This article makes a novel contribution by examining Black women’s agentic responses to marginalising experiences in higher education. Black women’s extraordinary efforts to succeed in westernised universities built on the subjugation of and from the labour of their ancestors, awareness-raising about their negative experiences, and strategies to change colleagues’ behaviours defy ‘business as usual’ in higher education. Neoliberalism, Gender and Curriculum Transformation in Higher Education is a multi-site project led by Professor Relebohile Moletsane (Moletsane & Mabokela 2019), who partners with Black women to support their academic and scholarly success. This article reviews results of a survey administered to participants to document their experiences and explore the interventions designed by Moletsane’s Feminist Decoloniality as Care (FEMDAC) investigators at universities in South Africa and America. This article describes four ways in which researchers effectively operationalise feminist decoloniality as care, by: 1) truth-telling about the impact of neoliberal institutions on the daily lives of Black women academics; 2) locating the source of academic woundedness not solely in the individual behaviours of bad actors but in systemic oppression; 3) creating opportunities for women to see the similarities in their experiences transnationally and to recognise ways in which institutional structures marginalise them; and 4) mutual support, a team mentoring approach, and reproducing Black excellence.

As a nation that upholds traditional values and is internationally recognized for its etiquette and politeness, Indonesia stands out in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has significantly impacted the character of students across much of the world. The aim of this research is to understand the motivations underlying individuals' actions in shaping a child's character during the Covid-19 era through Islamic education. The current study employs a quantitative methodology utilizing a survey model and written questionnaires. The survey used for this research was conducted online. The results of this study indicate that students' self-confidence increases when teachers use dolls to engage children during the Covid-19 era in the learning process. The findings of this research clearly demonstrate that the support provided by parental parenting styles to teachers in the process of Islamic education in the classroom greatly enhances students' achievements. Therefore, the conclusion of this research is limited to examining the role of youth in the Covid-19 era within Islamic education. Thus, the researcher hopes that future researchers can investigate the role of youth in the Covid-19 era, incorporating the findings of this research into other fields of study.

The current development of science and technology is advancing rapidly. The influence of gadgets is substantial. This influence doesn't only affect adults, but also children, especially students. Of course, the use of gadgets brings about both positive and negative impacts. This research aims to examine the effects of gadget usage on the development of children's character, particularly focusing on their religious character and obedience. The method utilized in this study is descriptive quantitative, utilizing survey results obtained from online surveys conducted among students of SD 014 Perawang Barat and SMPN 02 Minas. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that gadget usage significantly influences the development of students. It has a positive impact when used appropriately for educational and positive purposes, under parental supervision. However, it can have negative consequences if used inappropriately, as a result of lack of parental supervision.

The significant number of divorce cases, including both divorces and widowhoods, in Indonesia, particularly in the West Sumatra region, known colloquially as 'Broken Homes,' has raised concerns among researchers regarding its potential influence on the socialization process of children. This research was conducted using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, making it a mini research study. The data collection technique employed was online interviews conducted through Google Forms. The study subjects were children who had experienced a broken home and were residing in the West Sumatra area. The research results revealed that the concept of a Broken Home family can indeed impact the socialization process of children, encompassing primary socialization aspects such as shifts in a child's personality, education, and habits, as well as secondary socialization processes involving mass media, formal institutions, and the immediate environment. These changes were found to be influenced by both parties involved—namely, children and families—with remaining motivation, strong religious knowledge, and mutual support serving as contributing factorsAbstract:The significant number of divorce cases, including both divorces and widowhoods, in Indonesia, particularly in the West Sumatra region, known colloquially as 'Broken Homes,' has raised concerns among researchers regarding its potential influence on the socialization process of children.

The Success of Preaching Amid Gender Issues 在性别问题中讲道的成功
Q4 Arts and Humanities Pub Date : 2023-06-30 DOI: 10.31958/agenda.v5i1.9308
Giska Lovina
Preaching in the era of globalization has become an essential aspect of human life transformation. Humans, with their complex nature, must be capable of adapting to an increasingly dynamic era. Gender differences should ideally enable religious individuals to embrace diversity, which supports success in the preaching process. However, in its actualization within society, the presence of gender differences becomes an inevitable issue and problematic. Preaching for every steward of the Earth will only succeed if gender equality issues are not brought up.
