This article aimed to analyze changes in the ecological footprint in Brazil over time, focusing on reports from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and scientific literature. To do so, the present article is of a documentary, bibliographical, and qualitative nature. Data collection was conducted through systematic searches, employing search terms such as "Ecological Footprint," "Brazil," "World Wide Fund for Nature." The results showed that despite having one of the largest global biocapacities, Brazil faces challenges in effectively translating this advantage into sustainable benefits. The findings highlight the phenomenon of horizontal and vertical scale growth in the Brazilian economic system, pointing to the combination of population growth with increased consumption, especially in urban areas. Regional disparities in per capita Ecological Footprint are evident, indicating distinct consumption patterns in different parts of the country. WWF reports emphasize the importance of strategic interventions to trigger significant transformations. In this point of view, the study highlights the need to rethink consumption models and adopt more sustainable practices. The deficit of the Ecological Footprint in Brazil requires a proactive and collaborative response from policymakers, communities, and economic sectors. Only through strategic interventions and a fundamental shift in the approach to natural resources can one aspire to a future where Brazil's biocapacity is effectively transformed into sustainable benefits, ensuring harmony between economic development and environmental preservation.

Basic sanitation is extremely important for people's quality of life. However, various actions have a negative impact on sanitation in cities. Among these actions is the discharge of untreated sewage into drainage channels. Several drainage channels in the city of Aracaju-SE have been found to receive clandestine discharges of untreated sewage. Given the above, this article aims to carry out a literature review on the impacts caused by the discharge of untreated sewage into the drainage channels of Aracaju-SE. To carry out this work, the bibliographical research methodology was adopted, consisting of a review of the literature related to the theme of clandestine sewage connections in drainage channels and the various impacts generated by this action. The research used books, course conclusion papers, scientific articles, and other sources. The results show that in natura sewage discharges into drainage channels have negative impacts on public health, the environment, and the structures of the urban drainage system. It is concluded that investment in basic sanitation should be treated as a priority, as it is directly correlated with public health and environmental quality.

Curricular Environmental Education in schools plays a fundamental role in promoting the right to a sustainable environment. It is a concept that goes beyond simply teaching about ecology and preservation, being a process that aims to form conscious citizens, capable of understanding the interdependence as well as the integrality between human beings and the environment. Teaching about the environment is important in several aspects. Firstly, it helps to raise students' awareness of environmental issues, making them aware of the challenges and threats the planet faces, such as climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss. This encourages empathy and concern for the environment. Furthermore, environmental education provides tools so that students can act sustainably in their daily lives. The purpose of this theoretical essay is to provide a study on environmental education and its direct impact on decision-making at a political level and on the promotion of environmentally conscious public policies in the field of school education. Research shows that citizens educated in this area are more able to actively participate in environmental issues, pushing more for sustainable policies and making informed decisions in elections. Environmental education in schools is essential to ensure that future generations have a healthy and sustainable environment, becoming a crucial tool in realizing the right to a sustainable environment. In the essay, the methodology of theoretical construction is used based on a bibliographical review, with exploratory research.

Child development is a period of learning processes, which is why dysfunctional behaviors are common. However, these behaviors may exist situationally or, depending on their persistence, may constitute oppositional defiant disorder. The aim of this article was to carry out a systematic review of studies focusing on certain aggressive behaviors in childhood and the possibility of a relationship with the diagnosis of ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder), seeking to identify their causes and repercussions from early diagnosis. The search for articles was carried out in the Scielo; Lilacs; BVS databases during the months of March to May, using the terms: "Oppositional Defiant Disorder", "Childhood", "Aggressiveness" and "Behavior". Thus, this is a systematic review of the literature of an exploratory and descriptive nature in the year 2023. The final database included in the analysis consisted of 7 articles published from 2019 to 2023. However, the selected studies show a clear relationship between the influence of context on the development of oppositional defiant disorder in childhood, so children who develop in environments with aggressive communication tend to be more likely to be diagnosed with ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder).

The use of modern technologies in agriculture is essential, especially for irrigated crops, the sector with the highest consumption of water resources. Given this scenario, the main purpose of this paper is to report on the development of a prototype for irrigation, using low-cost technology based on the Arduino UNO R3 tool to monitor water control at specific times. The research has a qualitative-quantitative approach and was validated in a residence in the city of Castanhal, located in the northeastern region of the state of Pará, Brazil. The materials used to make the prototype were the Arduino model UNO R3, RTC module, solenoid valve, relay module, hoses, and sprinklers. The code developed was programmed in the C++ language, with the first test applied at 09h and the second at 16h, with an interval of 10 seconds. The results obtained from the tests showed that the prototype developed has a good ability to control water for irrigation, being turned on and off at the programmed times. It was also possible to see a high level of efficiency in the use of the Arduino UNO R3 prototyping board, as well as effective communication between the components used, demonstrating that technological tools are important for the management and control of water resources. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the objective proposed in the project was achieved, since the use of Arduino enabled the creation of a prototype for irrigation, with efficiency for controlling water waste.

The generation of flow data allows the assessment of the capacity to meet water demands, predict floods, and estimate the potential for hydraulic exploitation for electrical energy generation. In Brazil, precipitation data series, due to their ease of measurement, are more extensive compared to flow data series, enabling the use of hydrological models called rainfall-runoff models capable of estimating flows from precipitation data. Therefore, utilizing the Brazil Gridded Meteorological Data (BR-DWGD) database, this study aims to generate, calibrate, and validate flow data for the Piauitinga river basin located in the state of Sergipe, Brazil, using the monthly rainfall-runoff SMAP model. The soil parameters considered in the validation for the studied region showed a good fit to the observed data, achieving a Nash-Sutcliffe (NS) of 84% and log-Nash-Sutcliffe (NSLog) of 85% in calibration, and Nash-Sutcliffe (NS) of 70% and a log-Nash-Sutcliffe (NSLog) of 80% in validation. Therefore, since the rainfall-runoff model used exhibited good performance for the studied hydrographic basin, it becomes feasible to use the generated synthetic series to fill possible gaps in the historical series of monthly average flows.

In this work, the School was approached as a priority institution in accelerating the process of knowledge about the environment, according to a local society unprepared to deal with the tools: ecological footprint and ecological calculator. In this sense, the underlying issue was to question whether the School as an institution should be circularly tooled with the contribution of environmental economics, transforming them into environmental education. That said, the methodology of case studies was used, observing a local school in the city of Campina Grande, PB. The results revealed a lack of knowledge and curiosity regarding environmental concepts, as well as urged that the School should be the instrument of this new history, where the environment and society through a transversal and multidisciplinary education would pierce spaces more quickly through basic knowledge.

The use of statistical and geo-referenced tools helps to explain the differentiation of urban mobility given the pre-existing urban configuration in cities. The city of Campina Grande-PB, object of this study, is characterized by the prevalence of dualist elements such as the growing demographic explosion and the new layout of urban strata in terms of the smart cities concept. That said, the analysis on screen comprises the existing mobility system, demonstrating how the current space influences the potential of movement in different social strata through the Theory of Spatial Syntax. The research used the Geographic Information System-GIS, processed through Depthmap® and QGIS, in the production of spatial syntactic measures in neighborhoods combined with socioeconomic variables. In this study, it was concluded that the method identified in central areas, with a high concentration of middle and high income, a format more conducive to car use, while in neighborhoods with a higher concentration of vulnerable population, a system that favors the walkability and the use of bicycles and motorcycles. The public transport system presented a more efficient coverage, as it presents itself as a restrictive factor in the circular causation of local poverty, although it has the potential to be a driver of local economic dynamism to favor increased income in the most vulnerable and segregated locations spatially.
