Objective: to understand the perception of the LGBTQIA+ elderly person about social and programmatic vulnerability. Methods: qualitative study developed with ten elderly persons. The collection was done through an interview supported by a semi-structured instrument. Elderly people of both sexes and non-binary assisted in a reference center were included. We adopted content analysis through the thematic modality for data systematization. Results: human aging raised discussions about specific needs, such as sexuality. Treated as taboos, elderly individuals who belonged to sexual minority groups suffered double invisibility, especially in health services. Furthermore, the lack of social and family support resulted in psychological suffering and social vulnerability. Conclusion: through the reports, it is possible to identify important gaps in the assistance to the LGBTQIA+ elderly person, such as difficulty of access and generic health practices, which do not consider the particularities of this population, as well as discrimination and lack of spaces for coexistence. Contributions to practice: population aging raises discussions about the adequacy of health services in the face of the specific demands of the elderly, especially regarding sexuality and sexual and gender minorities.

Objective: to investigate the actions of nurses in regard to lesbian and bisexual women in the context of the National Policy for the Integral Health of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Cross-Dressers and Transgender Persons. Methods: qualitative study involving 25 nurses from the Family Health Strategy, contacted via electronic means. We applied a form containing sociodemographic data and an investigation of actions in primary health care, as well as a thematic content analysis. Results: we found there are professional capacitation activities, embracing of demands, and enhanced interprofessional work. Nonetheless, there were shortcomings in the knowledge regarding health care towards lesbian and bisexual women. Conclusion: there are still prejudices, difficulty to access, and little attendance of lesbian and bisexual women in health services, as well as a deficit in the support to health actions and lack of monitoring. Contributions to practice: the importance of the scientific, professional, and social experiences stand out, regarding the need to humanize the care to lesbian and bisexual women. It is a supporting material for researchers and nursing professionals, enabling them to direct their care to a holistic and integral care to be provided to these women, in addition to being an encouragement to further comparative studies.

Objective: to evaluate the relationship between bio sociodemographic characteristics and advanced activities of daily living in hospitalized elderly people. Methods: cross-sectional study. Two hundred hospitalized elderly people participated. The instruments were used: Mental Status Assessment Questionnaire, Bio-sociodemographic and Health Characterization Instrument and Advanced Activities of Daily Living Scale. Results: age impacted social (p=0.024), leisure (p=0.004), intellectual (p=0.017) and religious (p=0.047) activities. Regarding gender, men presented higher scores in leisure (p=0.046) and intellectual (p=0.002) activities; on the other hand, women obtained better scores in religious activities (p=0.001). The variables "family income", "physical disability" and "physical activity" were significantly associated with the global score. Conclusion: there was an association of the variables "age", "education", "family income", "physical disability", "physical activity practice" and "health status perception" with the global score of the scale. Most of the bio sociodemographic variables showed association with the Leisure Activities domain. Contributions to practice: the elucidation of factors that may be related to the performance of advanced activities in hospitalized elderly people can support the improvement of care.

Objective: to map the evidence on web-based technologies and their applicability in outpatient and home care in pediatric urology. Methods: this is a scoping review, with searches conducted in six databases, with no time limit, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Results: 2,200 articles were obtained, with 19 publications eligible for the final sample. The most used web-based technologies were telehealth and telemedicine (47.3%), online intervention programs (21.0%), and mobile apps (15.8%), with a lower rate of use of serious games, social media, and urination videos (5.3%), mostly in the home setting. Conclusion: the mapping of technological evidence in outpatient and home care in pediatric urology allowed us to identify the types of technology and their applications focused on self-management of symptoms and self-efficacy, for monitoring and follow-up of urologic care. Contributions to practice: the synthesized evidence contributes to an expanded, qualified, and innovative professional practice with the pediatric population with urinary and bowel symptoms, characteristics related to advanced nursing practice, in addition to favoring early diagnosis and greater therapeutic adherence, particularly by supporting interventions tailored to the needs of the pediatric patient and his family.

Objective: to understand the experiences of deprivation of freedom from the perspective of men and their implications to health care. Methods: qualitative study carried out with 10 men serving sentences on probation. Data collection was carried out in individual interviews using a semistructured questionnaire. Data was submitted to content analysis. Results: three categories emerged, which were: Crooked life: living before being deprived of freedom; Caged bird: being a man deprived of freedom; and Time bomb: health care in the prison system. The deprivation of freedom is an experience marked by the lack of safety, considering the health risks in the prison environment, the perception of participants of being vulnerable to disease, and the denial, on the part of the state, of the right to health. Since the access to health is not guaranteed, relatives were the most commonly responsible for organizing care. Conclusion: an unhealthy situation was found, with vulnerability to disease and denial of the right to health in the prison environment. Contributions to practice: this study contributed for sensitizing professionals who work in the prison system, emphasizing the importance of guaranteeing human rights during imprisonment.

Objective: to analyze nursing students' perceptions about their professional training for health care of LGBTQIA+ people. Methods: qualitative study, conducted with 19 nursing students through semi-structured interviews. Data were processed and worked through lexical analysis using IRaMuTeQ® software. Results: the textual corpus gave rise to two categories: professional nursing training on health of LGBTQIA+ people (subdivided into: curricular spaces addressing health of LGBTQIA+ people and Formative deficits for health care of LGBTQIA+ people) and Extracurricular spaces of professional training on health of LGBTQIA+ people (subdivided into: informal and extracurricular learning on health of LGBTQIA+ people and Work context and autonomy in learning about LGBTQIA+ health). Conclusion: addressing the health of LGBTQIA+ people in the training of nurses needs to expand beyond specific classes, which demands the creation of spaces within the curricular matrices that address the specificities required by this population, without, however, relegating them to extracurricular activities. Contributions to practice: problematization of the training of nurses for the health care of LGBTQIA+ people.

Objective: to understand the perspective of nurses regarding the obstacles faced by physically disabled women in regard to cytopathological examinations. Methods: qualitative study with 11 nurses from Basic Health Units, including urban and rural areas. Data was processed and analyzed using the software IRAMUTEQ (R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires). Results: classes 1 and 5 were grouped into the class “Inadequate infrastructure”; class 2 was “Results of the collected exams”; class 3, “Feelings at the time of examination”; and 4 “Team training”. Conclusion: we revealed that women presented negative feelings during the examination, professionals lacked further training, there were no strategies to deal with the situation in the unit, and facilities were inadequate to attend the needs of the users. Contributions to practice: we demonstrated that it is essential to provide care to physically disabled women and carry out routine exams in this population. Furthermore, this study can give support to strategies to adapt and improve the knowledge of the workers who provide care.
