Objective: to evaluate the association of sleep quality and the presence of burnout syndrome with the epidemiological profile of higher education teachers. Methods: an observational, analytical, cross-sectional study of 140 teachers, using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Results: in the sample, the majority was female (54.3%), aged between 26 and 40 years (58.6%). There was a predominance of teachers with a specialist title (48.6%), with a salary range of up to R$ 5,000.00 (85.7%), with two or more employment relationships (52.1%). It was found that teachers who received more than R$ 5,000.00 (p=0.003), with two or more jobs, classified the usual sleep efficiency as poor/feeble (p=0.027). However, those with good subjective sleep quality had lower scores in the Emotional exhaustion (p=0.005) and Depersonalization domains in relation to the syndrome (p=0.023). Conclusion: several factors contribute to the development of sleep-related disorders in teachers, making them more susceptible to the manifestation of burnout. Contributions to practice: the results can support preventive measures for the health of teachers and maintain the quality of their work activities, aiming to reduce the mediation effect of the variables that favor psychological exhaustion.

Objective: to analyze the trends of mortality from HIV/AIDS in adolescents and young adults. Methods: ecological, time series investigation of deaths by HIV/AIDS in adolescents and young adults, from 2009-2019 in Brazil, in populated areas included in records from the System of Information on Mortality. We applied correcting factors to the mortality rates and carried out analysis using polynomial regression modeling. Results: we analyzed 6,344 deaths by HIV/AIDS in adolescents and young adults. We found high mortality rates in young adults when compared to adolescents. There was a growing trend in the north of the country, in the age group from 10 to 14. Mortality rates were higher among males in all regions, with a reduction in the mean rate for white persons and an increase for black/brown persons. Conclusion: there was an increasing trend, followed by a decrease in the last few years, with relevant differences between regions. The age group from 20 to 24 and males presented the highest mean rates of deaths from this disease. Contributions to practice: most of all, our findings give support to health planning, considering the specificities of the public and the regions with the most growing trends, thus helping improve public policies.

Objective: to classify the quality of nursing care and analyze the association between professionals' characteristics and the implementation of preventive measures for pressure injuries in hospitalized children. Methods: this observational, cross-sectional study involved 235 nursing professionals. The Pressure Injury Prevention instrument comprised three domains with a total of 23 items: Preventive measures and early detection of pressure injuries (9 items), Pressure relief measures (8 items), and Assessment and reporting (6 items), analyzed using the Positivity Index for Quality of Care. Results: Most participants were females (98.7%), with a mean age of 38.83 ± 9.94 years, nursing technicians (57.4%), and had more than five years of experience (77.1%). Nursing care was predominantly inadequate across all three domains, with 82.6% of actions rated as poor. Significant associations were found between "participation in training courses" and "work-related exhaustion". There was a trend towards increased compliance with measurements among professionals aged 31-40. Conclusion: nursing care was predominantly poor and participation in training courses and the presence of exhaustion were associated with better adherence to preventive measures. Contributions to practice: the study highlights the pressing need for investments in professional training and the provision of necessary resources to support high-quality and safe nursing care.

Objective: to show the factors that lead to (dis)satisfaction and (de)motivation in the work of nursing professionals in the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: qualitative study, developed virtually, with professionals from nursing teams. Data was processed using the software Interface de R pour Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires and analyzed according to Thematic Analysis. Results: 72 workers participated. 45 (62.5%) stated to be satisfied and 46 (63.9%) to be motivated for work. The text segments were separated into four classes, each showing a factor that interfered in work (dis)satisfaction and (de)motivation. Conclusion: factors that intervene in satisfaction and motivation were mostly associated with patient recovery and helping one another. Among the factors that impacted on dissatisfaction and demotivation, the lack of needed supplies and work overload stood out. Contributions to practice: we identified needs and strategies relevant to improve the work environment.
