Objectives: In the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, physical inactivity and health anxiety which are common risk factors for musculoskeletal pain have become widespread due to strict precautions and isolation. Thus, we aimed to com-pare physical activity, health anxiety, and spinal pain history in people experiencing and not experiencing spinal pain during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Methods: This study was designed as a case-control study. Assessments including the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ), the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form, and the Short Health Anxiety Inventory were performed through an online questionnaire using Google forms during the COVID-19 lockdown. We reached 494 volunteers, and 348 were eliminated by the exclusion criteria. One hundred and fifty-six participants were classified as the spinal pain group (n=70) and the asymptomatic group (n=86) based on the NMQ.
Results: The total amount of physical activity was less in the spinal pain group than the asymptomatic group (p<0.05). The spi-nal pain group had higher levels of health anxiety than the asymptomatic group (p<0.05). Further, the percentage of people who experienced spinal pain in the past year was higher in the spinal pain group (p<0.05).
Conclusion: People experiencing spinal pain during the COVID-19 lockdown were physically less active and more concerned about their health. These results may be useful to improve the management of spinal pain during the lockdown or possible pandemic wave scenarios.

Transient ischemic attack (TIA) of spinal cord (SC) is very rare and characterized by sudden onset of paralysis, sensory loss, back pain. We present a patient with acute painful paraplegia and symptoms resolved within a few hours. We identified 10 patients in literature search. Five of them were male, the mean age of patients was 53.8. Paraparesis/pleji was present in all. Only two patients did not have radicular pain. Vascular risk factors were hypertension in five patients, smoking in five and diabetes mel-litus in one. TIA period ranged from 1 min to 24 h. The most common etiology was aortic dissection (n=6). Four patients had aortic thrombosis. Six patients were treated with medical and surgical methods; other four were treated with only medically. SC ischemia and aortic diseases should be kept in mind in short term/persistent acute spinal syndromes with pain.

Objectives: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to a decrease or interruption of outpatient and elective interventional procedures of patients with chronic pain worldwide. This study aims to investigate the attitude changes of pain physicians in Turkey in the treatment of chronic pain patients and the compliance of these changes with the published guidelines.
Methods: A total of 113 pain physicians were sent an online questionnaire forms to be completed voluntarily.
Results: The questionnaire was completed by 61% (n=69) of the total physicians to whom it was sent to. The rate of physicians who did not request the COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction test from their patients before any interventional procedure was 48% (n=33). The rate of physicians who ignored the immunosuppressive effect and while prescribing opioids and did not reduce the opioid dose was 42% (n=29). The rate of physicians who did not reduce the corticosteroid dose they used in their interventional procedures was 61% (n=42). It was determined that 49.1% (n=28) of physicians who applied facet joint medial branch radiofrequency denervation (RFD) during the pandemic period decreased the number of diagnostic blocks they ap-plied compared to the pre-pandemic period. It was found that 51% (n=24) of the physicians who applied genicular nerve RFD during this period did not perform any diagnostic blocks.
Conclusion: It was found that the majority of physicians did not change their preferences in the dose and/or type of opioid and corticosteroid drugs, but they tended to reduce the number of diagnostic blocks they applied before facet joint medial branch/genicular RFD procedures.

Objectives: Notalgia paresthetica (NP) is a neuropathic condition that manifests as a chronic itch on the back. The aim of this retrospective study was to examine the characteristics of patients diagnosed with NP.
Methods: A total of 25 female patients, aged 26-64 years (mean+-10.67 years; median 47.17 years), were studied to determine the spinal or peripheral origin of NP.
Results: On radiological examination, discopathy was observed in 24% of the patients, arthrosis in 32%, and degeneration in 56%. There was no significant relationship found between dermatological symptoms and magnetic resonance imaging posi-tivity (p=0.188). The patients' treatment programs were based on either physical therapy (44%), local injection (28%), exercise therapy (16%), or physical therapy and kinesiotherapy (12%). Subjective measures for pain were validated with an average visual analog scale (VAS), and the 'Douleur Neuropathique 4' (DN4) questionnaire was used to screen for neuropathic pain. The VAS score of the patients before treatment was 7, and after treatment was 2. The mean DN4 score was 7 before treatment and 2 after treatment.
Conclusion: NP is a rare syndrome of unknown etiology. We aim in this study to analyse NP clinical properties and treatment.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of conventional radiofrequency (CRF) ablation treatment on chronic plantar heel pain due to heel spur.
Methods: A total of 20 patients with heel spur who did not respond to conservative treatments were recruited for the study. Under fluoroscopy guidance, CRF was performed to three points at the top, above, and below the heel spur in the longitudinal plane of the foot. Pain intensity, the pressure pain threshold (PPT), and functional status were assessed using a visual analog scale (VAS), pressure algometers, and the Foot Function Index (FFI). All measurements were taken before the procedure, as well as 1, 3, and 6 months following the procedure.
Results: CRF was applied to 20 patients - 16 (80%) females and 4 (20%) males. Their mean age was 51.40+-8.10 years, the mean body mass index was 33.80+-5.47 kg/m2, the mean duration of symptoms was 18.30+-9.02 months, and pes planus was present in 5 patients (25%). A statistically significant decrease was observed in VAS score and PPT and FFI measurements at the 1st, 3rd, and 6th month following CRF compared to before CRF (p<0.001).
Conclusion: CRF is an effective, safe, minimally invasive method to reduce pain severity in patients with chronic heel pain due to heel spur in the short (0-3 months) and intermediate term (3-6 months).
