We sought to determine the associations between physical activity (PA) level and academic achievement and the correlation of PA with other variables. We also aimed to determine the exercise barriers among medical students at King Abdulaziz University (KAU). This cross-sectional study was conducted from March to May 2022, and 354 students participated. The students' PA was measured using the International physical activity questionnaire– short form (IPAQ-SF). The last semester's grade point average (GPA) was used to assess academic performance (AP) and the Exercise Barriers Scale (EBS) to assess exercise barriers. PA and AP relationship were insignificant. However, the overall correlation of PA to other variables was undetermined. PA levels among female medical students positively influence GPA whereas male students did not, and more than 50% of the participants had low PA levels. Our study indicates that the overall effects of academic achievement, gender, academic year, smoking, comorbidities, and BMI on PA level were insignificant. Our society requires awareness and support to promote PA, and the students require encouragement and support to exercise.

Coronary Artery Calcium Score: Current Efficacy of Cardiac CT in Patients at Hail Region, Saudi Arabia 冠状动脉钙评分:沙特阿拉伯Hail地区心脏CT患者的当前疗效

Calcium levels in the Coronary Artery are an indicative marker of the presence and extent of atherosclerosis. This serves as an additional prognostic indicator in addition to traditional risk factors. Moreover, the coronary calcium test is associated with a descriptor known as the calcium score or calcium score (Cs), which is primarily useful for stratifying the risk of asymptomatic patients, while for patients with acute or chronic chest pain, coronary axial computed tomography is generally required. A retrospective analysis of data was conducted in the radiology department of King Salman Specialist Hospital in Hail City, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, between January and May 2022. A total of 40 patients were randomly selected, 25 males and 15 females. The study included all patients with or suspected of having a calcium deposit who underwent a CT scan using the Siemens SOMATOM definition MDC scan. Patients underwent a scan with the preparations and laboratory tests required for their coronary artery calcium scores. In this study, males were more likely to be affected by calcium deposits (64%), whereas females were 36%. Approximately 50 percent of the study populations were found to be normal (no identifiable calcium deposits) and 37.5% to have moderate calcium deposits. There is a significant association between CACS and moderate CVD risks based on age and gender in this study. Better control of cardiovascular system (CVS) risks is recommended in all primary care centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).Copyright © 2022 International Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Allied Sciences.

The Disaster Preparedness among Health Care Workers in Holy Mosques at Makkah and Madinah, Saudi Arabia 沙特阿拉伯麦加和麦地那圣寺医护人员的备灾工作

Saudi Arabia is annually receiving the largest mass gathering in the world, who come to perform Hajj or Umrah within a confined time and place. To assess preparedness for disasters at three health institutes in Holy mosques from the perspectives of the health workers. A cross-sectional study design, 314 health workers were selected randomly from Makkah health center (n=151), Madinah health center (n=68), and Al Ansar hospital (n=95) who responded to questionnaire adopted to assess preparedness for disaster. A significantly greater percentage of workers in Makkah center (79.5%) indicated that there is a disaster plan, comparable to those in Al Ansar hospital (61.1%) or Madinah health center (60.3%) (p<0.05). Also, a significantly higher proportion of the health workers in Makkah center (78.1%) agreed that they are adequately prepared to deal with the sudden influx of a large number of patients if compared to those in Madinah HC (55.9%) or those in Al Ansar hospital (52.6%) (p<0.05). A significantly higher percentage of the workers in the Makkah center (79.5%) compared to those in Al Ansar hospital (57.9%) and Madinah health center (61.8%) indicated that there is regular execution of disaster drills p<0.05. Makkah center is more adequately prepared to deal with disasters than the Madinah health center and Al Ansar hospital. Deliberate efforts are needed to enhance the disaster preparedness of the Madinah center and Al Ansar hospital to cope with the projected progressive increment in the number of pilgrims soon.
