Idort e difusão do Management no Brasil na década de 1930 20世纪30年代巴西管理的Idort和扩散

Management in Brazil has been considered from different theoretical and analytical perspectives. Some seek to reveal its relationship with Anglo-Saxon thought, which is the original constitution of this body of knowledge and organizational practice and highlights the importance of historical Management research. Therefore, this study examines how the importation of Management doctrines and its diffusion through the creation of Idort was marked by a turbulent scenario of political and ideological disputes, which became the substrate for the consolidation of practices that determined the institutional locus of Management in Brazil in the following decades.

In March 2018, more than a century after the first manifestations of gender equality, we observe that the participation of women in science is still limited. Moschkovich and Almeida (2015) analyzed the teaching career data at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) and revealed that although competitive admission claims to allow for an egalitarian selection of teachers, women are less likely to occupy higher positions within the university; moreover, while men are found across different areas, women are concentrated in specific areas of the institution and take more time to reach the top.

DISMISSAL: IMPORTANT CRITERIA IN MANAGERIAL DECISION-MAKING 解雇:管理决策的重要标准

Knowledge about dismissal decision-making, particularly concerning the criteria used by managers in choosing who will be dismissed and why, is scarce. Considering the implications of such decisions for organizations and society, in this paper, we identify the seven most frequently used criteria in dismissal decisions and examine their importance for managers. We collected data through a survey among 385 managers and used the rational ranking and the multicriteria Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to analyze them. The results show that commitment, performance records, and trust have the greatest impact on the dismissal decision, whereas interpersonal relationship, growth potential, and professional experience are considered secondary criteria. These results contribute to extending our knowledge about dismissal decisions and showing the most relevant criteria in these choices and the relevance assigned to each of the criteria so that greater transparency can be achieved.

Barreiras à gestão da cadeia de suprimentos verde na indústria automotiva 汽车行业绿色供应链管理的障碍

This study identified the barriers to and analyzed their degree of influence on Green Supply Chain Mana­gement (GSCM) from the perspective of a first tier supplier in the Brazilian automotive industry. There are 43 barriers in the literature of which 13 were validated: support and involvement (five), operational per­formance (three), economic performance (two), environmental performance (two), and knowledge and information (one). The validation occurred through the perception of technical and academic specialists familiar with environmental management and supply chains in several sectors. The hierarchy of barriers priorities was obtained through the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), with decision makers representing an industry in the automotive sector. The research showed that the cost implications represent the most influential barrier to GCSV, from the perspective of a first tier supplier in the sector.

My experience as a RAE editor allowed me to learn about the difficulties of dealing with the issue of similarity of scientific publishing in the digital age. I had to deliberate on sensitive issues constantly, and in several opportunities I expressed myself, in oral presentations and in RAE’s editorials, how I was dealing with this complex subject. In this brief article of the Perspectives section, I discuss some concepts using editorials of that period.

Social media has produced substantial changes in the communication landscape. Online social network sites (SNS) grew as a common platform for online social interaction. SNS firms generate revenue from the advertising appearing on SNS. Their survival depends on users’ approval of such social network advertising (SNA). Marketing literature indicates that users accept advertising if it is consistent with their motivations for using social media. Information seeking is the most recognized SNS motivation. Yet, research on evaluating the influence of SNS information motivation on users’ approval of SNA is scarce. Based on SNS uses and gratifications theory, this study proposes a multidimensional model that shows the influence of SNS information motivation on users’ approval of SNA.

Implementação do lean healthcare: Experiências e lições aprendidas em hospitais brasileiros 实施精益医疗保健:巴西医院的经验和教训

This study aimed to analyze the process of implementing lean healthcare in three Brazilian hospitals that have played a pioneering role in the implementation of this system. We adopted the case study approach and collected data through interviews, document analysis, and observation. The results showed that the processes of implementation of lean healthcare in the hospitals shared many similarities in terms of the flow of patients, materials, or information. Finally, it was possible to obtain some guidelines for the application of lean principles and techniques in order to facilitate the implementation of lean healthcare in hospital operations.
本研究旨在分析三家巴西医院实施精益医疗保健的过程,这三家医院在实施该系统方面发挥了先锋作用。我们采用个案研究法,通过访谈、文献分析、观察等方式收集数据。结果表明,在医院实施精益医疗保健的过程在患者、材料或信息流方面有许多相似之处。最后,有可能获得一些应用精益原则和技术的指导方针,以促进在医院业务中实施精益医疗保健。

Agenciados pelo desejo: O consumo produtivo dos potterheads 由欲望驱动:波特迷的生产性消费

The Harry Potter saga became one of the cultural products with a major impact on the twenty-first cen­tury. Its fans, called potterheads, relate in a social space known as fandom. Their practices are based on the appropriation of the cultural text in a productive consumption process within a context of participa­tory culture. Assuming desire from the perspective of Deleuzian assemblage theory, which presents this concept as a flow of productive energy that is articulated through a collective force, this study aimed to understand how potterheads’ productive consumption is assemblaged by desire. We therefore explored multifocal data concerning practices of potterheads available on digital platforms using Foucauldian Discourse Analysis. Our results revealed that potterheads’ desire assemblage maintains their bond with the canonical universe of the saga, as a way of maintaining identity and security in the transition to adult life, through relationships in the fandom and in pursuit of broader social legitimacy. The study contribu­tes theoretically by adopting the Deleuzian notion of desire as a lens to understand the collective action of consumers in cultural contexts of practice.

Determinantes da formação de redes interorganizacionais no setor cultural 文化部门组织间网络形成的决定因素

In recent years, the number of studies applying Social Network Analysis to the formation of inter-orga­nizational networks has increased. This paper analyzed a socio-centric network composed of 32 cultural organizations in Andalusia to measure this increase. Multiple Regression Quadratic Assignment Proce­dure (MR-QAP) at the dyadic level, showed that perceptions of affinity (i.e., homophily) and the possibility of establishing contacts in the future, can exert influence on the establishment of informal contacts. At the internal level, an organization’s brokerage position in collaboration project networks is related to the volume of business and the old in the sector. Finally, this article discusses applications for the manage­ment of inter-organizational networks in order to strengthen the implementation of public policies.

This paper analyzed a socio-centric network composed of 32 cultural organizations in Andalusia to measure this increase. Multiple Regression Quadratic Assignment Proce­dure (MR-QAP) at the dyadic level, showed that perceptions of affinity (i.e., homophily) and the possibility of establishing contacts in the future, can exert influence on the establishment of informal contacts. At the internal level, an organization’s brokerage position in collaboration project networks is related to the volume of business and the old in the sector. O papel dos programas de pós-graduação em Administração de Empresas na perspectiva da relevância estratégica: O atendimento das expectativas dos stakeholders 从战略相关性的角度看工商管理研究生课程的作用:满足利益相关者的期望

Traditionally, it has been taught to business administration students at the undergraduate level that the survival of an organization depends on its relevance as perceived by stakeholders (Freeman & Reed, 1983). However, one of the most important authors in the area of business administration in Brazil stated that about 20 years ago—when I was a newcomer to the academy—I expressed my frustration with the imperfections I identified in the management of the school. The following line never ceased to echo in my mind: “We are famous for teaching business administration, not for managing.” Unfortunately, I found that this phrase was not a criticism, but a fact.The motivation for this text comes from the idea expressed by the phrase above. However, it is necessary to emphasize that this is a partial vision and that forums in which Brazilian graduate programs in business administration participate tend to focus on concise discussions instead of deepening discussions on topics that affect the management of these programs.First, the most relevant stakeholders were listed, and their pressing interests were identified (subject to confirmation). Subsequently, using the 2013-2016 Evaluation Report – Quadrennial 2017, of the business administration, accounting, and tourism areas (CAPES, 2017), and considering only academic programs, the author analyzed the results obtained for the evaluation questions in relation to the interests of the stakeholders identified.
