In this study, we review studies on time management and propose an effective time management system. We introduce an algorithm for identifying time management problems in the form of a decision support system, which allows a consistent review of problems in this area and can be used by individuals and teams. We have proposed and described a series of actions and measures to address each of the five identified problems, i.e., procrastination, inability to achieve long-term, medium-term and short-term goals, and a permanent lack of time (personal or professional). Possible applications of this system include a preliminary description of one’s time use during the day, tracking spent time, analysis of results, “bottlenecks” identification, setting rating points, repeating the study, and summarizing. The presented effective time management system has a theoretical basis and practical application in personal and working time organization.

The paper discusses customers’ purchasing behavior in the industrial pumps market. Considering the increase in the global competition among suppliers, they must design and employ customer-oriented strategies to compete successfully in the market. The empirical analysis is based on the survey data from a sample of 133 industrial pump buyers. The importance of each of the supply factors that are important for a successful sales process is analyzed. The results show that the brand of industrial pumps has a statistically greater influence on smaller customers than on larger customers. The study contributes to the existing literature on purchase decision-making and industrial branding. A broader potential application of the results is discussed, and possible research directions in this area are presented at the end, given the limitations of this study.

Considering the theoretical findings and the empirically determined relevance of working capital management (WCM), the paper focuses on identifying the WCM determinants of manufacturing, trade, and information and communication companies in Croatia. The time horizon of the analysis ranges from the year 2008 to the year 2015, and the final sample consists of 19,355 companies or 116,002 firm-year observations. In addition to the methods of descriptive statistics, the Kruskal-Wallis test, Dunn’s post hoc test, and panel regression analysis are used as methods of inferential statistics. The results of identifying the determinants of WCM indicate that WCM in the previous year, profitability, and financial constraints significantly positively impact working capital cycles, thus promoting conservative WCM. In contrast, size, growth, fixed investment, annual real GDP growth, and industry indicators were significantly negative predictors of the two WCM indicators used, the cash conversion cycle (CCC) and the net trade cycle (NTC). Accordingly, the latter stimulates aggressive WCM. Given the significantly positive effect of an aggressive WCM strategy on profitability, together with the results of the test of WCM determinants, it is recommended that the firms studied to use these determinants to generally manage net operating working capital in a narrower sense more aggressively and achieve its target values.

This paper proposes a fuzzy logic model for evaluating stakeholder motivation for high-quality publications. Conceptually, the model is based on stakeholder theory and Vroom's expectancy theory of motivation. Instrumentally, tools of fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic, and expert evaluations are at its core. The model is suitable for any university. Further, it reflects university specificity, using specific motivational factors in one of the evaluation procedures. The model easily evaluates the level of motivation by processing vague, subjective perceptions. It was applied at a Bulgarian university through a comprehensive survey that included 106 participants and performed well. The model contributes to the advancement of management science by theoretically enriching research management and organizational behaviour and complementing their tools. Expected practical implications are improved university management and better research results based on well-grounded decisions about research, people, and performance.

This paper analyses the problems of passenger transport management in the context of sustainable mobility and multimodality in major Lithuanian cities. The urban transport system, development, and problem areas in meeting consumer needs are discussed. The article also discusses the ways to promote the use of public transport services in sustainable mobility and multimodality by solving the problem areas of passenger transport management. The article analyses the attitude of residents of major Lithuanian cities towards the importance of sustainable mobility and multimodality. The factors that determine the decision of the inhabitants of the major Lithuanian cities to use sustainable mobility and multimodality are presented, and ways to improve the quality in this area are considered. A quantitative method is applied to study the previously described attitudes and confirm the hypothesis that there are specific management difficulties related to sustainable mobility and multimodality. According to the study, most residents of Vilnius and other major cities do not combine public transport with other modes. Only less than one-third of survey participants combine multiple modes of transport on their trips. Implementing public transport management solutions in the context of sustainable mobility and multimodality should become a model.
