Sports improve physical health, social involvement, and emotional well-being, which are crucial to growth. This study examines factors affecting visual impairment students’ sports engagement at Federal College of Education Special Oyo. A descriptive survey research design was used. The study included 71 visually impaired male and female pupils. This study sampled all visually impaired 100, 200, and 300-level students intact. A self-developed questionnaire on factors that determine sports participation among students with visual impairment (QFDPSA) with four subscales was utilized for this study. Cronbach alpha is 0.075. Inference statistics like the T-evaluate and multiple regression was used to evaluate hypotheses at 0.05 significance. The findings showed that socio-economic factors highly influenced the level of participation in sporting activities among visually impaired students in Federal College of Education Special, Oyo, and that all variable items listed under availability and accessibility of sports facilities averagely promote and hinder engagement. The findings suggest that students with visual impairment should be informed of sport benefits through various techniques to overcome the perceived inherent dangers in sport, which has led to personal dread of injury during participation. Sport organizers should have particular education abilities to accommodate visually impaired athletes.

The COVID-19 pandemic, was occurred in 2019. It is a worldwide pandemic which effect the whole world. The disease is mainly pass through the respiratory track; Infected people transmit the COVID-19 virus when they are Come in contact with other non-infected persons. However, infection can also be occurred in longer distances, particularly indoors. This pandemic has drastically changed the use of digital technologies in the field of education due to the social distancing norms and nationwide lockdowns. People and organizations all over the world have had to adjust to new ways of work and life. Education is field in which there is a dramatic shift to the online mode of transacting. Since the beginning of the lockdown, schools, colleges and universities around the world have shifted their classes to video conferencing platforms like Zoom, goggle classroom, Microsoft and goggle meet Suit. This increases the on-screen community. Some universities are now shifting entirely to the online mode, with the exception where require a physical presence is necessary. Due to Covid-19 pandemic we imagine a largest shift of digital usage on all fields of work and life. These changes are largely depended on our responses to and shaping of the emerging trends (e.g., Some School App). The Covid-19 pandemic has led to online revolution in education fields to shift to work-from-home (WFH). The Covid-19 post pandemic introduce a new mode of education i.e. hybrid or blended mode of learning.

The study was conducted to explore the impact of conceptual change texts integrated instruction on 10th class students’ understanding of chemical bonding concepts. It mainly aimed to investigate how conceptual change texts stimulate students’ prior knowledge, identifying misconceptions, and to help them to understand the chemical bonding concepts by using analogies, explanations, and examples. In conceptual changes text, analogies were used to deal with students’ misconceptions. The results analysis revealed that conceptual change texts-oriented instructions have a positive impact on students’ understanding of scientific conceptions related to chemical bonding and also helpful in resolving the misconceptions. Mean scores of both groups showed that students in the experimental group performed better with respect to chemical bonding concepts.

This study investigated the Influence of School-climate on Science Students’ Performance in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study with a focus on Senior Secondary School II Science Students, which necessitated the use of questionnaires for data collection. The instrument was validated and tested for reliability using Cronbach Alpha statistic with 0.82 reliability value. Result formats were also used for collecting the average scores of 250 participating science students in science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Further Mathematics) from the school authorities concerned. Data collected was analyzed using frequency counts, Mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Findings from the study showed that, school-climate influences the academic performance of science students in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria leading to the need to enhance proper constructs for better performance in science subjects. The study concluded that conducive school-climates play significant roles in the performance of science students, which invariably implies that improved students’ performance can be achieved when school authorities pay deliberate attention to improving school-climate conditions. It was recommended among others that, schools should endeavor to create conducive environment such as provision of basic facilities, clear and effective communication channels and a cordial teacher-students relationship to facilitate learning and to improve students’ academic performance in science subjects.

This study investigated the effectiveness of implementing the Jolly Phonics strategy on pupils’ reading achievement and attitude within the context of lower basic schools in Lagos State, Nigeria. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted the quasi-experimental pre-testing, post-test, control group experimental design. The population of the study consisted of all basic 1 pupil in public lower basic schools in Lagos State. While the sample size was Three hundred and twenty-four (324) pupils of Lower Basic 1 and Nine (9) teachers who were randomly and purposively selected using Simple Random sampling technique. The sample size was drawn from three schools from three Local Government Education Authority Areas (LGEAs) in Lagos State public lower basic schools. Two research questions were used and three instruments used for eliciting responses were Achievement Test in Reading (ATR), Pupils’ Attitude to Reading Questionnaire (PARQ) and Pupils’ Verbal Ability Test (PVAT). The instruments were validated by experts in early childhood and measurement and evaluation. The test re-test method was adopted for instrument reliability at 0.75. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard deviation) Variance and Analysis Covariance (ANCOVA) Findings revealed that Jolly Phonics had significant effect on the academic achievement in reading of basic 1 pupil in lower basic schools and their attitude. Pupils taught with Jolly Phonics strategy performed better in reading achievement and had positive attitude than those taught with conventional method. It was recommended that Jolly phonics instructional strategies should be incorporated into basic school reading curriculum. This will help them develop reading skills easily. Individual differences in pupils’ reading ability should be identified and addressed through variation of reading strategies as was provided for in the experimental groups with jolly phonics strategy. Government, school managers and administrators should provide adequate instructional materials that will motivate pupils to easily adapt to jolly instructional strategy.

This study determines the power of social media on the academic achievement of business education students in universities in Anambra State. One research question guided the study. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of the study consisted of 719 business education students in the three universities offering the programme. The entire population was used for the study. A structured questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach Alpha it yielded an overall coefficient index of 0.81. Data collected for the study were analyzed using mean and to answer the research question. The findings of the study revealed that the power of social media does not affect the academic achievement of business education students. Based on the findings, it was concluded that social media enhances the academic achievement of business education students. Consequently, it was recommended among others that lecturers and university management should include social media in the business education curriculum.

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of pedagogical practices and academic credentials of biology instructors on the disappointing academic performance of students in the Afijio LGA of Oyo State. The research comprises of five primary inquiries, with three addressed through hypotheses and two assessed with a 0.05 significance level. Data were collected via surveys and questionnaires, with 100 pupils from five different schools offering biology in the region taking part in the study. The questionnaire utilized a four-point scale to measure academic performance, proximity to schools, and social disparities between genders. Frequencies, percentages, and regression were utilized in data analysis. Results indicate that effective teaching methods and instructors’ level of education significantly impact biology pupils’ academic success. These findings support the views of Gupta (2017) and Ukpong (2021), who similarly emphasized the importance of a teacher’s approach and qualification on student performance. The study recommends that the government incentivize and motivate experienced teachers in the education system, while also encouraging students to prioritize learning over just academic achievement. Additionally, it suggests that only certified teachers should be permitted to teach mathematics at the secondary level to enhance their pedagogical approach and enhance students’ academic achievements.
