Abstract: The issue of early marriage appears to be a trend among young adults. Therefore, this research was conducted to explore the problem more closely, specifically among teenage girls from rural areas. An in-depth interview was used to gather data on the factors and effects faced by teenage girls as a result of early marriage. The result shows that most of the informants involved in this study were between 17 and 21 years old, housewives, completed their studies until the Malaysian Certificate of Education, and married when they were 15. The findings disclosed four main contributing factors to early marriage: personal choice, out-of-wedlock pregnancy, financial deprivation, and parent’s insistence. Furthermore, the effects of early marriage include financial problems, negative perceptions from neighbors, and health struggles, especially during pregnancy. The output of this research is expected to have implications for stakeholders, who should re-evaluate marriage bills to protect the fundamental rights of teenage girls and prevent them from being persecuted for marrying young.

Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa terdapat empat faktor utama yang menyumbang kepada isu kahwin muda iaitu kehendak diri sendiri, kehamilan luar nikah, kemiskinan keluarga, serta desakan ibu bapa. Seterusnya, kesan daripada kahwin muda adalah terpaksa berhadapan dengan masalah kewangan, perlu mengharungi persepsi negatif daripada jiran tetangga, serta bergelut dengan masalah kesihatan terutamanya semasa mengandung. Dapatan kajian ini diharap dapat memberi implikasi kepada pihak yang berkepentingan agar meneliti semula rang undang-undang perkahwinan demi melindungi hak asasi remaja perempuan agar golongan ini tidak teraniaya akibat daripada kahwin muda.

Abstract: The development of interactive websites plays an increasingly important role in landscape heritage and edutourism, revolutionising how visitors interact with and learn about historical and cultural sites. However, most websites on heritage sites only have basic features, whereas the maps only show the locations of the attractions. This study focuses on developing an interactive website that incorporates interactive maps and illustrated narratives to promote the landscape heritage of Taiping, Malaysia for edutourism. The study examines how these elements work together to improve visitors' knowledge and awareness of Taiping's heritage values. Through a mixed-methods approach involving content design process, website design and user experience surveys on 354 respondents, the study evaluates the effectiveness of the interactive website on visitors' learning experiences and appreciation of heritage. Findings highlight the increased awareness of the heritage values of Taiping from the combined approach in fostering deeper connections, self-guided learning, and immersive exploration. The study's contribution lies in its insights into the potential of an integrated interactive website to reshape edutourism, creating dynamic digital platforms that enhance the synergy between modern technology, cultural heritage, and experiential learning. Abstract: The representation of female politicians in media is an ongoing issue that reflects the larger problem of gender imbalance in politics and the media. The representation of women in political leadership roles and in media coverage of politics is improving along with recent awareness on this issue. Thus, this study aims to investigate the key stereotyping elements on Malaysian journalists who write against a female politician. This study employed a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews to extract information by interviewing 11 Malaysian journalists. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the findings. Based on the findings, Malaysian journalists develop the key stereotyping elements in writing against female political leaders based on their respective reporting styles. Besides, most informants in this study realise and acknowledge that female politicians are being underrepresented. This has become one of the key stereotyping elements that Malaysian journalists practice when writing about female politicians. It is not surprising that the informants acknowledge that men always have the upper hand, especially in politics. Hence, one of the key stereotyping elements that Malaysian journalists write against female politicians is revolved on the male dominance and male confidence in politics. Lastly, nature of politics is identified as one of the key stereotyping elements that Malaysian journalists write against female political leaders. This stems from the mixed reactions from the politicians regardless of gender and the fact that politicians are politicians.

A product that has been developed requires a form of evaluation to see the effectiveness of the product and this evaluation can be carried out through internal evaluation as well as external evaluation. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the usability of the creative teaching model for polytechnic Islamic Education lecturers that had been developed. This evaluation also looks at the propriety of using the model in the teaching process of Islamic Education lecturers at polytechnics. An internal evaluation using the Modified Nominal Group Technique (NGT) was carried out with 30 polytechnic Islamic Education lecturers. The findings of the study have shown that all the evaluated elements have obtained a usability percentage value of more than 70%. Further studies can be carried out to tstudy the effectiveness of the model through external evaluation by experimental research.

Dapatan kajian telah menunjukkan kesemua elemen yang dinilai telah mendapat nilai peratusan kebolehgunaan melebihi 70%. Kajian lanjutan boleh dilaksanakan dengan menguji keberkesanan model melalui penilaian luaran dengan membuat kajian eksperimen.

A film is a work of art that is used as a medium to convey an important message to society through its actions and characters that use a lot of implicit elements in conversation. The purpose of this study is to examine the film works of the great artist P. Ramlee using an inquisitive semantic approach from the field of pragmatics that emphasizes the interpretation of meaning. Therefore, this study applies the inquisitive semantic approach introduced by Jalaluddin (2014) aided by the Relevance Theory by Sperber and Wilson (1986, 1995) and cross reference frame to uncover the implicit conversations in P. Ramlee’s films especially to discover their philosophies and common sense. This study found that there are elements of Malay society’s thinking and intellect in the implicit conversations and each lexical item has its own reason for being used in the films.

Abstrak: Filem merupakan karya seni yang dijadikan medium untuk menyampaikan mesej penting kepada masyarakat melalui lakonan dan watak-wataknya yang kebanyakannya menggunakan unsur implisit dalam perbualan. Tujuan kajian dijalankan adalah untuk mengkaji karya filem seniman agung P. Ramlee dengan menggunakan pendekatan semantik inkuisitif yang diperkenalkan oleh Jalaluddin (2014) dan dibantu oleh teori relevans daripada Sperber dan Wilson (1986, 1995) dan Rangka Rujuk Silang (RRS) untuk menyingkap perbualan berimplisit dalam filem -filem P. Ramlee khususnya sehingga menemui falsafah dan akal budi. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat unsur pemikiran dan keintelektualan masyarakat Melayu dalam perbualan berimplisit dan setiap leksikal mempunyai alasan tersendiri untuk digunakan dalam filem-filem tersebut.

The purpose of this study is to examine the film works of the great artist P. Ramlee using an inquisitive semantic approach from the field of pragmatics that emphasizes the interpretation of meaning. Therefore, this study applies the inquisitive semantic approach introduced by Jalaluddin (2014) aided by the Relevance Theory by Sperber and Wilson (1986, 1995) and cross reference frame to uncover the implicit conversations in P. Ramlee’s films especially to discover their philosophies and common sense. This study found that there are elements of Malay society’s thinking and intellect in the implicit conversations and each lexical item has its own reason for being used in the films.

Tujuan kajian dijalankan adalah untuk mengkaji karya filem seniman agung P. Ramlee dengan menggunakan pendekatan semantik inkuisitif yang diperkenalkan oleh Jalaluddin (2014) dan dibantu oleh teori relevans daripada Sperber dan Wilson (1986, 1995) dan Rangka Rujuk Silang (RRS) untuk menyingkap perbualan berimplisit dalam filem -filem P. Ramlee khususnya sehingga menemui falsafah dan akal budi. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat unsur pemikiran dan keintelektualan masyarakat Melayu dalam perbualan berimplisit dan setiap leksikal mempunyai alasan tersendiri untuk digunakan dalam filem-filem tersebut.

Abstract: Literacy in the 21st century entails creating and approving knowledge and data. Due to the abundance of information available, users must be able to sort through the uncertainty and be able to verify opinions from several aspects. Those who are pursuing postgraduate studies in particular need to be critical thinkers because simply understanding the material is not enough. Nonetheless, adjusting and transferring digital skills may be difficult for postgraduate overseas students as they have to use their linguistic skills to address issues with online navigation. The current study intends to look into how Malaysian and Chinese English language postgraduate students integrate and apply some 21st-century abilities to their research. One public university in Malaysia received voluntary responses from 207 respondents (96 postgraduate students from Malaysia and 111 overseas students from China) to a series of 21st century skills survey questions that were adapted from Kelly, Knowles, and Euisuk Sung (2019). The survey consists of four relevant 21st century skills that are identified as important to postgraduate students, which are collaborative, critical thinking, communication as well as creativity and innovation. The findings show that Creativity and Innovation has the lowest mean score. This study emphasizes the importance of having a variety of digital abilities for these postgraduate ESL/EFL students to succeed in the digital world. This study offers insights into the difficulties and possibilities for the development of digital skills in various cultural contexts by examining the skills gap between ESL/EFL students of Malaysia and China.

Abstract: The prevalence of suicide among drug addicts is common and one of the biggest challenges faced by society. Studies have found that substance use is associated with suicide ideation. Early detection of suicidal intent among addicts is important to ensure they do not take further action to prevent suicidal acts. This study used a psychometric instrument, namely the Suicidal Ideation Behavioural Assessment (SIBA®). The four main components involved were interpersonal conflict, emotional disorder, depression, and hopelessness. A descriptive study was conducted in this study. Altogether, a total of 123 drug addicts in Malaysia participated in this study as respondents. The descriptive analysis shows that 52.85% of addicts had low suicidal ideation behaviour, 21.95% were moderate, 3.25% high, and 0.81% very high. Findings from this study showed that drug addicts have high suicide ideation, which can be a risk factor for suicide attempts. It is suggested to focus on early detection of suicide ideation. This study is expected to make a significant contribution to the government, especially the rehabilitation centre, in helping addicts who have suicidal ideation behaviours to be given better attention and psychosocial support services.

Abstract: The emergence of tahfiz institutions (IT) is a benchmark that tahfiz education is one of the choices of society nowadays. This scenario makes tahfiz institutions grow in various categories to give tahfiz education opportunities to every age group. The objectives of this study are to identify the diversity of management of tahfiz IT institutions, to identify the potential diversity of tahfiz education in Malaysia and to evaluate the challenges of tahfiz education specifically in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. This article is a conceptual paper using qualitative methods. The study uses the literature review method by analyzing the content of primary and secondary sources to answer the three objectives of the study. The results of the study found that the diversity of management of tahfiz institutions in Malaysia includes three main categories, namely government tahfiz schools, private tahfiz schools and government tahfiz colleges. These three main categories are seen to provide opportunities for people of all ages who want to study IT. In addition, IT is seen to have good potential to continue to develop with the opportunity to continue studying in professional fields at public and private higher education institutions. However, IT is seen to have challenges that must be overcome in order to maintain the institution, especially in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic era. Various alternatives and innovations are implemented to help educational institutions including IT to continue operating. Various parties are seen to be always ready to take proactive steps to ensure that IT continues to develop

Abstract: Islamic tourism, also known as halal tourism, is an emerging trend in the industry that is growing in popularity among travelers who seek to experience the benefits of travel while being mindful of their religious obligations. On the other hand, Islamic Tourism is an industry that generates billions of dollars in economic impact and creates thousands of jobs worldwide. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between tourists’ behavior and Islamic Tourism in Kota Bharu. A sequential explanatory mixed method was carried out, with a total of 400 domestic tourists participating in the questionnaire survey and six Subject Matter Experts (SME) participating in the structured interview. The data were analyzed using the Relative Importance Index (RII) and content analysis. The findings show that the majority of the respondents were satisfied and agreed with the indicators and components of Islamic Tourism in Kota Bharu. The results of this research are beneficial to the tourism stakeholders in Kota Bharu for better Islamic Tourism, as it can help to increase tourist arrivals to the city. Moreover, this research is also expected to contribute as a basis for Islamic Tourism in other Islamic cities around the world.

Abstract: Several determining factors influence the success of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. This study aims to examine the extent to which environmental factors, parents, and peers affect the academic excellence of fifth-grade students in selected religious schools in the state of Terengganu and to analyze the relationship between environmental factors and student academic excellence. This study used a qualitative approach involving document analysis, observation, and interviews with fifth-grade students. The study results found that most parents have a good relationship with the respondents and always motivate them. Still, they provide less help with academic matters such as schoolwork and the preparation of study schedules. Peers also found similar academic excellence and strong socialization influence on respondents. Therefore, parental and peer factors remarkably impact each student in determining academic excellence. In conclusion, the education system greatly depends on the support of environmental factors such as parents and peers to ensure that student academic excellence is at its best.

Abstrak: Keberhasilan sesuatu proses Pembelajaran dan Pengajaran (PdP) di dalam bilik darjah dipengaruhi oleh beberapa elemen penentu kejayaan. Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk meninjau sejauh mana elemen persekitaran, ibu bapa dan rakan sebaya mempengaruhi kecemerlangan akademik murid tingkatan lima di sekolah-sekolah agama terpilih dalam Negeri Terengganu seterusnya menganalisis hubung kait di antara elemen persekitaran dan kecemerlangan akademik murid. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kaedah kualitatif melibatkan proses menganalisis dokumen, pemerhatian dan temubual responden dalam kalangan murid tingkatan lima. Hasil kajian mendapati kebanyakan ibu bapa mempunyai hubungan yang baik dengan responden dan selalu memberi motivasi kepada mereka tetapi kurang membantu dalam hal-hal pelajaran seperti kerja sekolah dan juga penyediaan jadual belajar. Rakan sebaya juga didapati mempunyai kecemerlangan akademik yang lebih kurang sama dan memberi pengaruh sosialisasi yang kuat kepada responden. Maka, kedua-dua elemen ibu bapa dan rakan sebaya sememangnya memberi impak yang tersendiri kepada setiap individu murid bagi menentukan kecemerlangan dalam bidang akademik. Kesimpulannya, sistem pendidikan sangat memerlukan sokongan elemen persekitaran seperti ibu bapa dan rakan sebaya bagi memastikan kecemerlangan akademik murid berada di tahap yang terbaik.

摘要:有几个决定性因素影响着课堂教学过程的成功。本研究旨在考察环境因素、家长和同伴对丁加奴州所选宗教学校五年级学生学业成绩的影响程度,并分析环境因素与学生学业成绩之间的关系。本研究采用定性方法,包括文献分析、观察和访谈五年级学生。研究结果发现,大多数家长与受访者的关系良好,并总是激励他们。然而,他们在学业上提供的帮助较少,比如功课和学习计划的准备。同龄人也发现了类似的学术成就和强烈的社交影响。因此,父母和同伴因素显著影响每个学生的学业成绩。总之,教育系统在很大程度上依赖于环境因素的支持,如父母和同伴,以确保学生的学习成绩达到最佳。
