Foreign direct investment is a crucial factor for economic growth and development. It is the essential element that allows the least developed countries to progress. These countries have put in place attractive investment codes by granting tax incentives to foreign investors. In these countries, the level of inward FDI flows remains negligible and the results have not led to the desired development. Why the low level of inward FDI despite the incentives taken by LDCs in light of investment codes? The study shows that it is not enough to offer fiscal incentives to foreign investors but that other factors must be taken into account to accelerate the flow of inward FDI. Among these factors, it identifies the fight against corruption as an influential tool for attracting FDI.

In accordance with international human rights law and of refugee law, member states are obliged to provide schooling to foreigners as well as nationals. This article explores the impact of schooling on Congolese refugee children in Burundi. Our objective is to identify the factors that are linked to the non-enjoyment of certain rights. The methods resulting from the qualitative and quantitative approach seem to us the most relevant. For sample size, we surveyed 352 refugee students out of MUSASA School's enrollment of 2029 students. The factors that impede the enrollment of refugee children in school include sexual harassment, out of 166 respondents, or 52.8% out of 47.2% say that there are cases of sexual harassment in their school. Early and forced marriage, 224 out of 128 respondents 63.6% out of 36.4%) , lack of food,231 respondents out of 121, or 65.6% out of 34.4% gender discrimination, and ignorance of the rights of children in general, and of refugee children in particular, 186 out of 166 respondents, or 52.8% . This study is based on qualitative and quantitative data collected through documentation and fieldwork conducted in the Congolese refugee camps of MUSASA. The research findings highlight that refugee children's right to access schooling is often violated. That said, appropriate measures must also be considered to guarantee rights related to schooling as ratified and promulgated in legal texts. Some of these are the respect and implementation of education rights and laws in force in host countries.

The grouping of villagers into agricultural associations helps promote peasant agriculture. Exposed to many pressures, village organizations allow members to face the challenges surrounding their farms. Through their role of social inclusion, they also contribute to the socio-economic development of the area. In the face of this evidence, the study seeks to identify the drivers of the associative dynamics of farmers in the highland zone of the Baswagha Chiefdom in eastern DR Congo. In this lead article of the special issue, we provide a brief summary of the research developments in Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). We focus on the use of IGA in combination with stabilized and variational multiscale methods in fluids. We highlight the key developments and present results in IGA-based CFD that makes this technology attractive for the computational analysis of complex, unsteady and, often turbulent, flows encountered in modern science and engineering applications. We cover both incompressible and compressible flows, numerical method development and performance evaluation using benchmark problems, and applications ranging from stratified environmental flows over complex terrains to concrete-blast fluid–structure interaction. A short synopsis of each article in the special issue is also provided to help reader quickly see what is in the special issue.
