This paper presents a brief survey of plant species from the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado Mineiro, in the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region. The aim is to analyze the viability of these native species as raw materials for handicrafts, while respecting the local biomes. This is a qualitative study, based on a literature review. Individual studies and reports were carried out on the 46 species collected, using bibliographies that address the geographical, morphological and usual aspects of these species. Some species are presented, which will make up a catalog, containing the popular names, scientific names, characteristics and possible applications of the species for handicrafts. It is believed that this work, based on design, can contribute to the preservation of nature and local culture, encouraging the development of sustainable products

Considering the social dimension of Sustainable Design, this research aims to review the possibilities of implementing the Housing First philosophy as a public policy, as it is characterized as a form of action of Design for the Base of the Pyramid (BoP) that promotes the inclusion of the homeless population in the community and provides equity and social cohesion. The theoretical basis describes the ideas of Design BOP and relates them to Housing First services through a literature review of authors working on these definitions. This is followed by an analysis of the Seattle-based organization Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI), more specifically the Tiny House Villages program. After discussing the organizational and design guidelines they propose, the information gathered is related to the Brazilian social context.

With the advancement of emerging technologies in fashion and the development of smart clothing, the perspective of a new waste in the sector arises, the e-waste, or electronic waste. Therefore, it becomes relevant to investigate ways to mitigate the environmental impacts of WEEE from smart clothing still in the conceptual stage of the design of these products. In this way, this research aims to identify in the literature the main concepts, emphases and challenges of sustainability in smart clothing, as well as to relate the specificities of this type of product with existing heuristics focused on the extension of the life cycle. For this, the Systematic and Unsystematic Bibliographic Review method was used. As a result, three tables were obtained with heuristics focused on reuse, repair and recycling and the implications of each one of them in smart clothing. It is expected that these results provide bases for further research on WEEE from smart clothing, as well as verification and validation of the investigated heuristics.

This article aims to establish the state of the art of materials used for construction in ATPs for socio-environmental refugees. To this end, a Systematic Literature Review (RSL) and a bibliometric analysis were carried out considering two research axes focused on the use of natural materials in temporary camps for socio-environmental refugees. Through RSL, 20 relevant articles published until August 2023 were selected, considered aligned with the research topic. The results highlighted the most cited publications, authors and magazines on the subject covered, as well as the main application trends in the area of knowledge and application of research related to 3D printing, building comfort, among others. It is concluded that the use of natural materials is a sustainable strategy for socio-environmental refugees, as it contributes to the quality of life and resilience of these populations and provides bibliometric data on publications. However, there is a need for more studies on the social, cultural and economic aspects involved in this process.

The state of Paraíba presents significant contributions, both creative and handcrafted, distributed throughout its territory. Among the artisan typologies proposed by the Paraíba’s Craft Program (PAP), few are the representations that do not feature at least one artisan dedicating all or part of their production to the development of jewelry. For this article, a literature review was conducted with authors researched during the development of a dissertation, as well as information collected from the official PAP website. Using the research's scope, the presence of brands or producers on social networks, their own websites, or institutional websites was also considered, allowing for a preliminary analysis based on publicly available data. Based on the collected data, five initiatives stood out in an initial observation of possible characteristics in sustainable production. These underwent a preliminary analysis at the environmental, social, and economic levels, based on the parameters defined in the literature, confirming the presence of sustainable actions at the aforementioned three levels

Among the artisan typologies proposed by the Paraíba’s Craft Program (PAP), few are the representations that do not feature at least one artisan dedicating all or part of their production to the development of jewelry. For this article, a literature review was conducted with authors researched during the development of a dissertation, as well as information collected from the official PAP website. Using the research's scope, the presence of brands or producers on social networks, their own websites, or institutional websites was also considered, allowing for a preliminary analysis based on publicly available data. Based on the collected data, five initiatives stood out in an initial observation of possible characteristics in sustainable production. These underwent a preliminary analysis at the environmental, social, and economic levels, based on the parameters defined in the literature, confirming the presence of sustainable actions at the aforementioned three levels","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"192 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
