This paper discusses the position, role, and responsibilities of the Academic Program Director (APD) in the context of university autonomy in Vietnam. Through an analysis of the APD’s role in the development and implementation of academic programs at the university, along with the responsibilities and tasks of the APD in updating and improving the academic programs. The paper also describes the role of the APD in guiding and supporting teaching faculty and the program support team, as well as interacting with the community and employers. The author hopes that through this paper, readers will gain a clearer understanding of the significance of the APD’s role in the development of higher education in Vietnam. Building on the paper’s analysis, the author outlines key aspects of the APD position and proposes directions for establishing this role in the higher education environment in Vietnam, particularly within the context of autonomy. The anticipated results of the paper are expected to be beneficial for university leaders, APDs, and faculty members interested in the development of higher education in Vietnam.

With the requirements of the curriculum outcome and also the workplace, English skills are increasingly receiving special attention. The ability to communicate in English fluently is especially thought to help candidates find a good job after graduation. This research paper is conducted with the aim of improving student’s speaking skills through the Gallery Walk technique. The activity provides an opportunity for students to be exposed to the language regularly, which can help them foster and develop pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and fluency. The participants of the study are 36 first-year English major students at a university in Hung Yen. The data collection process was carried out during eight periods over two cycles. Research data collection tools are speaking tests, the action and questionnaires. Both quantitative and qualitative results have shown that students’ English-speaking ability has improved significantly in terms of vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. Moreover, adopting the gallery walk technique also helps students not be afraid of being judged when speaking English and be able to communicate actively in the real world.

The objective of this research was to explore the effect of applying TED Talks as an international platform to promote the first-year English majored students’ presentation performance. Even though a lot of research has been done on how to help English language learners become better speakers, few of them focus on using TED videos and prove them to be efficient educational resources for enhancing students’ presentation skills. Therefore, more work needs to be conducted to clarify the positive results brought by using videos in TED. The focus of this paper is ninety first-year English majored students at Dong Nai Technology University ranging from 18-20 years old. A combination of methods was applied to collect quantitative and qualitative data, including questionnaire, class observation and semi-structured interview. The results showed a positive influence on students’ presentation ability when TED videos were implemented in language teaching. In addition, this study indicated students’ positive reactions toward the use of the video-based learning program.

Nghiên cứu có sự tham gia của 40 nam sinh viên từ các khoa khác nhau của Trường Đại học Kinh tế Kỹ thuật Công nghiệp (UNETI). Phương pháp nghiên cứu thống kê được sử dụng để thu thập và phân tích dữ liệu nhằm làm rõ hơn về hiện tượng đang được tìm hiểu. Kết quả của nghiên cứu này chỉ ra rằng việc sử dụng trò chơi trực tuyến như một phương tiện để nâng cao động lực học từ vựng tiếng Anh của học sinh đã mang lại những kết quả đáng chú ý. Cách tiếp cận này hỗ trợ sinh viên UNETI trong nỗ lực học ngôn ngữ và mang lại cảm giác gắn kết, giải trí và yên tĩnh cao hơn trong quá trình học tập. Sự ra đời của trò chơi trực tuyến trong thời đại kỹ thuật số tạo cơ hội cho sinh viên tương tác và giao lưu với người bản xứ, qua đó chứng minh tính hiệu quả của trò chơi này như một công cụ giáo dục khả thi. The phenomenon of language contact occurs due to the influence of social-linguistic factors, community dynamics, and international interactions. Consequently, it is a social phenomenon, a cultural encounter where languages coexist and mutually influence each other within a communicative community. Language contact contributes to the formation of diglossia, bilingualism, and borrowed words; phenomena of convergence, and interference; and the emergence of pidgin and creole. This article provides a comprehensive analysis and synthesis of language contact from the perspectives of Vietnamese and Korean linguists, based on data from Vietnamese and Korean. The research results can be preliminary applied to conceptualize the phenomenon of language contact, contributing to the expansion of studies on language transformation and effective application in language teaching and learning practices.

Nghiên cứu này tìm hiểu cách thức chuyển đổi số thay đổi mô hình kinh doanh trong một số doanh nghiệp nhỏ và vừa (DNNVV) ở Việt Nam. Tác giả sử dụng phương pháp nghiên cứu định tính thông qua nghiên cứu trường hợp điển hình của 6 doanh nghiệp nhỏ và vừa hoạt động trong lĩnh vực sản xuất. Phương pháp thu thập dữ liệu thứ cấp đa nguồn dữ liệu đã được sử dụng để kiểm tra chéo dữ liệu thu được từ nghiên cứu thực địa và phỏng vấn, đồng thời tam giác hóa dữ liệu để nâng cao tính khách quan và chính xác của kết quả nghiên cứu. Kết quả cho thấy các công cụ kỹ thuật số đặc biệt là phương tiện truyền thông xã hội góp phần đổi mới mô hình kinh doanh của các DNNVV, tạo kênh phân phối mới và cách thức mới để tạo và cung cấp giá trị cho các phân khúc khách hàng. Nghiên cứu đã tiến hành khảo sát thực trạng quản lý hoạt động giáo dục hòa nhập cho học sinh khuyết tật ở các trường tiểu học trên địa bàn quận Sơn Trà, thành phố Đà Nẵng. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy, quản lý hoạt động giáo dục hòa nhập cho học sinh khuyết tật tuy đã đạt được nhiều kết quả tích cực, song bên cạnh đó, hoạt động này còn hạn chế ở một số mặt như quản lý nội dung, quản lý chương trình kế hoạch, quản lý việc tổ chức thực hiện, kiểm tra đánh giá... Từ thực trạng trên, bài viết đề xuất một số giải pháp nhằm nâng cao chất lượng quản lý hoạt động giáo dục hòa nhập cho học sinh khuyết tật ở các trường tiểu học trên địa bàn quận Sơn Trà, thành phố Đà Nẵng.

This article aims to analyze factors influencing the entrepreneurial intentions of colleges students in Can Tho City. The analysis is based on survey data collected from 350 final-year students in various colleges within the city. Analytical methods used in this study include: Method of testing the reliability of the scale using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, exploratory factor analysis method and multiple linear regression. The results reveal that factors affecting students' entrepreneurial intentions include Attitude, knowledge provided by the school, and External factors. Among these, Attitude emerges as the most influential factor shaping the entrepreneurial intentions of colleges students in Can Tho City. These findings provide a scientific foundation for educational institutions to develop strategies encouraging students to engage in entrepreneurship immediately after graduation.
