Precision Gene Editing Strategies with CRISPR-Cas9 for Advancing Cancer Immunotherapy and Alzheimer's Disease 利用 CRISPR-Cas9 进行精准基因编辑的策略,促进癌症免疫疗法和阿尔茨海默病的发展

Precision medicine approaches such as gene editing via clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR) and their associated protein (Cas-9) are revolutionizing treatment strategies for complex diseases such as Alzheimer and cancer. In this review, we explore the application of CRISPR-Cas9 in advancing therapies for these conditions, as well as its potential in targeting senescent cells. Since the risk of Alzheimer’s disease is strongly associated with genetic mutations and variations, the use of gene editing technologies to rectify these genetic errors by modifying disease-associated proteins becomes relevant. For cancer, to enhance immunotherapy approaches, modification of immune cells have been utilized to improve their anti-tumor efficacy. Additionally, the review also investigates the role of CRISPR-Cas9 in targeting senescent cells, which are implicated in both aging-related disorders and cancer progression. While challenges remain in introducing delivery methods and specificity, CRISPR-Cas9 represents a significant advancement in developing targeted, personalized treatments for these challenging health issues.

Applying Role-Play Technique on Improving EFL Students’ Language Learning: A Case Study at a Vietnamese University 应用角色扮演技术提高 EFL 学生的语言学习能力:越南大学案例研究

This paper explores the role-play technique and assesses its advantages in enhancing EFL learners' speaking skills and other language learning aspects through authentic English communication. A qualitative approach, using observation as the primary data collection method, was employed to examine the benefits of role-play in language classrooms. The study’s observations involved six pairs of 12 Vietnamese first-year students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, enrolled in the Basic English module. Observation was the key data collection instrument. The key findings from observing the students' role-play performances revealed that role-play as a teaching technique can boost speaking and communication skills, foster a supportive environment for active learning, encourage collaboration, enhance cultural understanding, enhance problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as well as make learning more engaging and memorable. Consequently, role-play not only enhances language instruction but also cultivates positive behaviors, attitudes, and overall student engagement with learning beyond English.

In the modern business landscape, data and analytics are playing an increasingly pivotal role in decision making across all sectors. Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) constitute a major portion of the economic fabric in the United States, yet many struggle with limited resources and an inability to leverage insights from customer and market data at their disposal. This study seeks to explore how SMEs operating in various industries across the US can optimize their marketing strategies through the application of predictive analytics techniques. By focusing on identifying patterns and trends in structured and unstructured data related to areas such as customer behavior, competitors, and industry shifts, SMEs stand to gain actionable recommendations for improving key metrics like sales, customer retention, and profitability. The findings of this research have implications for SME leadership teams seeking data-driven approaches to gain competitive advantage in a digital era defined by information abundance.

The Causes, Treatment Approaches, and Treatment Success of State Anxiety in Public Speaking in Relation to Language Learning 与语言学习相关的当众讲话状态焦虑的原因、治疗方法和治疗成功率

English: State anxiety is a negative emotion frequently experienced by individuals on a daily basis in situations where performance is required and where individuals feel a threat of failure or embarrassment. It has been increasingly in the focus of research due to its pervasive negative effect on academic performance, self-esteem, and the general well-being of students. Even though state anxiety in relation to public speaking  is not always severe enough to be diagnosed as a social anxiety disorder, it is prevalent among the student population and causes a significant obstacle to academic performance and student well-being. This study examines the causes, treatment approaches and treatment success of state anxiety in public speaking by analyzing previous empirical studies, with the aim of identifying the most effective treatment approach. Results show that state anxiety in public speaking can be successfully tackled with emotion reappraisal, cognitive-behavioral group counselling, and embodied approaches. A comprehensive integrated literature review methodology explores each study's methods and contributions to state anxiety in relation to public speaking  research and academic discourse.SažetakAnksioznost stanja negativna je emocija koju pojedinci često doživljavaju svakodnevno u situacijama u kojima se zahtijeva učinak i u kojima pojedinci osjećaju prijetnju od neuspjeha ili neugodnosti. Sve je više u fokusu istraživanja zbog svog sveprisutnog negativnog učinka na akademsku izvedbu, samopoštovanje i opću dobrobit učenika. Iako anksioznost stanja u vezi s javnim govorom nije uvijek dovoljno jaka da bi se dijagnosticirala kao socijalni anksiozni poremećaj, prevladava među studentskom populacijom i uzrokuje značajnu prepreku akademskom uspjehu i dobrobiti studenata. Ovo istraživanje ispituje uzroke, pristupe liječenju i uspješnost liječenja stanja anksioznosti u javnom govoru analizirajući prethodna empirijska istraživanja, s ciljem identificiranja najučinkovitijeg pristupa liječenju. Rezultati pokazuju da se stanje anksioznosti u javnom govoru može uspješno riješiti preispitivanjem emocija, kognitivno-bihevioralnim grupnim savjetovanjem i utjelovljenim pristupima. Sveobuhvatna integrirana metodologija pregleda literature istražuje metode i doprinose svake studije stanju anksioznosti u odnosu na istraživanje javnog govora i akademski diskurs.

The Gig Economy: Challenges for Tax System 临时工经济:税收制度面临的挑战

Tax system in this modern day is inherently complex and dynamic in nature coupled with the fact that it is being influenced by a variety of factor. The main objective of this study is to evaluate tax compliance in the gig economy: the need for transparency and accountability. Using the Saunders’ Research Onion layers, the study employed the use of quantitative data and qualitative data. Structured questionnaire and interview were used as data instrument. Data collated werecoded and then subjected to analysis.Theresultof the findingsshows that 66.6 % of the respondentsstronglyagreedto tax compliance. The findings of the study also shows that 33.3% strongly agreed, agreed, disagreed and strongly disagreed that tax system does not take gig economy inti consideration while designing it. Theresultalsoshows that challengesbeing faced by gig workers in reluctanceto tax paymentincludepoor communication from tax authority, platform not doing enough and social norms. Conclusively, tax systems did not put gig economy into consideration when been designed.

The findings of the study also shows that 33.3% strongly agreed, agreed, disagreed and strongly disagreed that tax system does not take gig economy inti consideration while designing it. Theresultalsoshows that challengesbeing faced by gig workers in reluctanceto tax paymentincludepoor communication from tax authority, platform not doing enough and social norms. Investigating the Impacts of Peer Conversations on Students' Speaking Ability at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade 调查同伴对话对胡志明市工贸大学学生口语能力的影响

The facts that teachers asked some questions in English speaking classes, and students knew the answers but didn’t respond because they didn’t know how to express their opinions and experiences in English and students kept discussing some topics together in Vietnamese made the author concerned about major English students’ speaking skills. The purpose of this study is to find out how students perceive about speaking English with peers and their attitudes towards this method. This research employed forty English majors from integrated-skill-2 classes at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT). A closed-ended questionnaire and Likert scale were used to gather the data, and a quantitative research method was used to analyze it. Speaking practice daily with peers is a highly useful approach to improving speaking skills, according to the data gathered. The study also indicates that students have positive attitudes toward English conversation practice.  Additionally, peer interaction gives students confidence and meets their need to speak in front of an audience.  Besides, the study demonstrates that through peer conversations, students’ vocabulary increases significantly, and they find it much easier to articulate their thoughts and feelings more effectively.

Teaching English for Tourism in order to Cater to the Specific Requirements of English majors at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade 针对胡志明市工贸大学英语专业学生的具体要求开展旅游英语教学

This study looks at what students need in English for tourism classes at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT). It shows that there are three ways to do a needs analysis: target situation analysis(TSA), present situation analysis(PSA), and holistic analysis. As part of this study, the author polled 180 students online to find out what HUIT English majors need for their English for tourism learning. The results show that the students think they need to work on being able to communicate better in English and learning more about tourism. They plan to include more project work to give students more chances to use the language in real life. The results from this study can be used to modify the present ESP courses to meet the needs of students learning English for tourism at HUIT.
本研究探讨了胡志明市工贸大学(HUIT)学生对旅游英语课程的需求。研究表明,进行需求分析有三种方法:目标情况分析(TSA)、现状分析(PSA)和整体分析。作为本研究的一部分,作者对 180 名学生进行了在线调查,以了解华中科技大学英语专业学生在旅游英语学习方面的需求。结果显示,学生们认为他们需要努力提高英语交流能力,并学习更多的旅游知识。他们计划增加项目作业,让学生有更多机会在实际生活中使用英语。这项研究的结果可用于修改目前的ESP课程,以满足在哈工大学习旅游英语的学生的需要。

An Investigation into English –Majored Sophomores’ Perceptions of English Movies to Improve Vocabulary at HUIT 对哈工大英语专业高二学生观看英语电影以提高词汇量的看法的调查

In the technological era, educators and second/ foreign language educators have paid close attention to the use of media in English teaching and learning including watching movies, listening to music, watching films, and using other sorts of entertainment-related learning materials. However, little progress has been made in understanding the English language perspectives of HUIT majored sophomores about the benefits and limitations of using English movies to improve language skills. This study was conducted with 110 English language sophomores (n=110) and used the quantitative approach in order to investigate learners’ benefits and challenges regarding English movies with a focus on improving vocabulary. The instruments included the Likert-five scale questionnaire. The study's findings indicated that English movies contributed to students’ increasing the number of vocabulary and then learning was improved. Besides, findings also revealed that students have positive perceptions about the use of English films in their learning. The study also gives recommendations to teachers and learners about how to use English movies effectively.

Alignment of Coursebook and Curriculum: Effective Business English Learning Outcomes 调整教材和课程:有效的商务英语学习成果

Confronted with the challenges of an interconnected work environment, students often have difficulties in connecting theoretical knowledge with practical communication skills. This article examines the potential of business English coursebooks to be reimagined as transforming tools that equip students to traverse the business environment effortlessly. Previously seen as purely theoretical resources, these coursebooks may now be recognized as valuable assets for students. We contend that meticulously crafted coursebooks, when used proficiently, may serve as gateways to developing essential communication aptitudes, cultural consciousness, and pragmatic negotiation proficiencies. Through interesting case studies, interactive activities, and simulations, students obtain genuine experience in composing emails, making presentations, and participating in negotiations, increasing confidence and enhancing their employability potential. In conclusion, we emphasize the many advantages of using coursebooks not just as reservoirs of information but also as dynamic tools for molding self-assured and accomplished corporate communicators. This article only concentrates on the compliance of the coursebook to the aims of the course of the English major students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.
