As AI technology continues to advance, its influence on foreign language learning, especially English language learning, is becoming increasingly important. It is crucial to assess how English majors view the integration of AI tools into their English learning process. This research uses a quantitative research design and a structured survey questionnaire to collect data to evaluate English majors' experiences, perceptions, expectations, and concerns about the use of AI tools in their English language learning journey at the tertiary level in Vietnam, specifically across various universities in Ho Chi Minh City. The results indicate that the respondents have already used AI tools for English language learning purposes. Moreover, the participants have a positive attitude toward the application of AI tools in their English language learning. However, they also express concerns about the impact of AI tools on their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as their future career prospects as English teachers and translators. This study suggests further consideration of the integration of AI tools in English Language Learning for English majors.

Chinese dramas have been brought into Vietnam since the 1990s, and then eventually began to gain popularity in the country. From the perspective of cultural studies, cultural difference is the reason for the lack of popularity of Western dramas in Vietnam. However, the popularity of Chinese dramas in the country is an indication of the phenomenon of “culture proximity”. The land of Vietnam and China is connected. Both the countries have over thousand years of history linkage including the similar origin of cultures, geographic features, norms and values as well as heritage. Hence, the intimacy that the Chinese dramas have bought stirs up the interests of the Vietnam audiences. Many Chinese dramas have been arranged to be shown during the “golden hours” by Vietnamese televisions stations and profoundly embraced by the local audiences. Therefore, the Vietnamese market has nurtured a huge number of loyal Chinese dramas fans.

Metaphors pervade our daily lives and thinking, serving not just as rhetorical devices but as tools for understanding the world. Humans have developed various spatial orientations based on their understanding of themselves and the objective world. However, due to different value systems, each ethnicity perceives these orientations differently. This paper compares the spatial metaphors of "left" and "right" in Chinese and Vietnamese from a cognitive metaphor perspective. It reveals that due to cultural differences, the languages exhibit both corresponding and non-corresponding metaphorical relationships. Understanding these similarities and differences deepens our knowledge of the expression of metaphorical cognition in Chinese, as well as the psychological and thought patterns of the Chinese people.
