Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an auto immune disease in which organs and cells undergo damage mediated by tissue-binding autoantibodies and immune complex.[1]. 90% of patients are women of child-bearing years are affected with this disease. According to Ayurveda, the signs and symptoms can be included under the purview of Vataraktha. Case summary: A 43-year-old female patient approached with chief complaints of pain over bilateral elbow joints, shoulder joints and low back pain, burning sensation over toes for 8 years associated with febrile attacks, coated tongue, mouth ulcer, dryness of mouth aggravated since 2 months. The Ayurvedic diagnosis was made as Vataraktha on the basis of signs and symptoms. The patient was given Sadyovirechana (Purgation therapy), Basti therapy (enema) along with other external procedures and internal medications. Significant improvement was observed after the treatment in terms of VAS Score and other subjective parameters. This case study shows that Ayurvedic treatment is helpful in the functional improvement of SLE and helps in improving the quality of life.

Sandhivata is the most common disease in the world which affecting a large population. Sandhivata term is derived from “Sandhi” and “Vata” which means when Vata lodges in Sandhi causes pain, swelling, restriction of joint movements. Clinical presentation of Sandhivata is closely mimics to osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease. According to Ayurveda Sandhivata is a type of Vatavyadhi which more commonly occurs in Vridhavasta. In present era due to its chronicity, incurability, complications, Sandhivata become a challenging disease. Sandhivata commonly affects knee joint, hip joint, and it is more common in weight wearing joint among all joints. If knee joint involved condition become more painful. Early diagnosis of Sandhivata such as through symptoms or screenings, can often lead to better treatment outcomes and a higher likelihood of successful recovery. Timely intervention can help slow down the progression of the disease and increase the chances of achieving positive results within a shorter period, typically within 5-6 days. In the current study main aim to treat Sandhivata in early stage by herbal medicine, Januvasti and physiotherapy.

Low back pain has become a major health problem now days, about 60-80% of world population experience lower back pain at some time in their lives. Katigraha is one among the Vata Nanatmaj Vyadhi described in Gadanigraha and Sharangadhar classical text. Acharya Shodhalya described that it is condition characterized by pain and restricted movement of Kati which can be correlated with the Lumbar Spondylosis. Lumbar Spondylosis is degenerative condition affecting the Disc, Vertebras, and associated Joints of Lumbar Spine. In Modern Science there are no effective treatments are available for this condition but in Ayurveda there is safe and effective regimen described by our Acharyas. In our case study diagnosed case of Lumbar Spondylosis with the complaints of lower back pain, stiffness and difficulty in walking and standing, tingling sensation since 2 month. In our treatment regimen externally Kati Pizhichil, Shashtikshali Swedan, and internally Panchtikta Ghrita Guggulu, Panchtikta Ksheera Basti and Matra Basti with Ksheera Bala Tail were given. During this procedure different parameters are assessed before and after treatment there is significant relief in previous complaints.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 is one of the global problems of the present day and it is gaining more attention. It is expected to continue as a major health problem and leads to serious complications. India is one of the top 5 countries with the highest prevalence of DM. The IDF Diabetes Atlas (2021) reports that 10.5% of the adult population (20-79 years) has diabetes, with almost half unaware that they are living with the condition. By 2045, IDF projections show that 1 in 8 adults, approximately 783 million, will be living with diabetes, an increase of 46%.[1] The signs and symptoms of diabetes can be correlated to Prameha of Ayurveda. The management of Prameha is mentioned in Ayurveda as preventive and curative aspects. Ayurveda has recommended an appropriate use of Oushadha Yogas along with proper Pathya (wholesome) Ahara, and Viharas. On the same principles a patient was treated at OPD basis, this case report analyses the same. A male patient, aged 45 years, diagnosed case of Prameha 5 years back presented with dryness in the mouth, increased frequency of micturition, Excessive thirst, weakness of the body, and burning sensation at the sole. The treatment planned was use of Shamana Oushadhis along with proper Pathya (wholesome) Ahara, and Vihara for three months. After three months of treatments results were compared. There was a marked reduction in signs and symptoms like burning sensation, numbness, excessive thirst, and increased micturition.

A healthy lifestyle isn’t just diet and exercise. Today we go over the components of leading a healthy lifestyle and how it’s important to lead a balanced life. In general, most would agree that a healthy person doesn’t smoke, is at a healthy weight, eats a balanced healthy diet, thinks positively, feels relaxed, exercises regularly, has good relationships, and benefits from a good life balance. The World Health Organization in 1946 defined health as ‘A complete state of mental, physical and social well-being not merely the absence of disease’ Vatarakta is a metabolic condition where the most common symptom is pain, which interferes with the patients' daily lives. Vatarakta is named on the basis of the Vata dosha & Rakta dosha which have their own independent derivation & are the main Samprapti Ghatak involved in the Vatarakta. Gouty arthritis is a purine metabolic condition and an inflammatory reaction to the MSUM (Monosodium Urate Monohydrate) crystals that are produced as a result of hyperuricemia.

Ayurveda medicine is one of the oldest holistic healing sciences it was developed around 3000 years ago. Different branches of science were nurtured by it like biology, genetics, microbiology, clinical medicine, surgery, astronomic, pharmaceutics and metallurgy etc. In Ayurveda system of medicine various formulations have been described in the traditional literature, which adopted the processes which are quite similar to the processes used today in modern medicine for formulation of various dosage forms to get the desired effect for the optimum period. Science and technology in ancient and medieval India covered all the major branches of human knowledge and activities. In any, early civilization, metallurgy has remained an activity central to all civilizations from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, to all other civilizations that followed. Various chemicals like common salt, alkali, borax, and compounds of elements Cu, Fe, Hg and Au were used as well as techniques for making of the alloys were also very common. The applicability of natural preservatives like oil, sugar, salt were also very much known in ancient time. However, the terms used as stated in traditional literature were not similar to the modern times. Also, the acidic and alcoholic fermented products were prepared very commonly.

Ayurveda is an ancient medical science which have proved for more than 5000 years ago. Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala are regarded as the fundamental elements of the human body. In addition to these components, Sira is a significant entity in which Rasadi Dhatus and Ojas flows from one place to other in the body. It is one among the Marma Vastu. In Ayurveda, the word Sira, Dhamani and Srotas are used interchangeably. All of these structures are present very closely and are minute and serves different functions in the body. Two chapters in Shareera Sthana in particular have been provided by Acharya Sushruta to explain the Sira.
