Comparison of ethanol productions of maize (Zea mays L.) HTF hybrids and conventional hybrids from Croatian breeding programs 玉米(Zea mays L.)乙醇产量比较来自克罗地亚育种项目的HTF杂交种和传统杂交种

The aim of this study was to determine the differences in grain and ethanol yields between hybrids obtained from breeding programs in the Republic of Croatia and introduced HTF (High Total Fermentable) maize hybrids. The trial was conducted at three sites (Osijek, Beli Manastir and Zagreb) for two consecutive years (2012 and 2013) in three plant densities (60,000, 70,000 and 80,000 plants/ha). Pioneer HTF hybrids for the ethanol production were used as controls to assess the productivity of ethanol of hybrids from the Agricultural Institute Osijek and Bc Institute d.d. The study of ethanol production was carried out by using the Lemuz method. According to ANOVA statistical analysis, statistically significant differences in grain and ethanol yields were not found between HTF hybrids and hybrids of domestic breeding companies. Statistically significant difference was found in ethanol yield by sites ( P <0.05) with highest average ethanol yield determined at Beli Manastir and the lowest in Osijek. Site × year × plant density interaction showed statistically significant difference in ethanol yield between hybrids and the most productive was the OS378 hybrid. Ethanol production of hybrids designated for this purpose did not produce higher ethanol yields than domestic hybrids from the same amount of grain.

Olive ( Olea europaea L.) is a Mediterranean fruit crop that requires irrigation to achieve optimal yield and quality. Irrigation practices and damage of olive fruit curculio ( Rhodocyrtus cribripennis (Desbrochers, 1869)), a pest of olive fruit, may be an important factor in determining the stage of fruit maturity, one of the main indicator of of fruit quality. The aim of this paper is to determine how different practices, through the amount and frequency of irrigation, with presence of olive fruit curculio, affect the maturity index of olive, variety ‘Coratina’. The research was conducted on 24 olive trees at two locations in Zadar County: Žman (Dugi otok) and Novigrad. Irrigation was performed with a drip system with four variants in three replicates: K (0%) rainfed olives; T1 (PP) irrigation set according to grower experience; T2 (SAN) irrigation set according to evapotranspiration and olive phenology, at up to 80% of field capacity and T3 (100%) where 100% of calculated evapotranspiration was added. Soil analysis determined the field capacity, and evapotranspiration was read from the Pinova™ meteorological station. Harvests was conducted in October 2020 and 2021. For determination of olive fruit curculio infestation and maturity index, 100 fruits per sample were harvested. By processing the data with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and return test (Tukey), the significant effect of irrigation practices on the olive fruit maturity index by treatments, years and locations, single and interdependent, was determined. No effect was found between the presence of olive fruit curculio and the maturity index.

Temperature and water solution pH effects on crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum L.) imbibition and seedling traits 温度和水溶液pH对红三叶草吸胀及幼苗性状的影响

Crimson clover ( Trifolium incarnatum L. convar. Inkara ) seeds were imbibed with water solution of various pH values (4, 5, 6 and 7) at various ambiental temperatures (10, 15 and 22 °C) with the aim to reveal treatments effects on seed (imbibition, germination energy, germination and electric conductivity) and seedling traits (stem, root and total length). Seeds were imbibed in a laboratory by the standard method for seed germination. When averaged over the inquired pH values, ambient temperature affected all the investigated traits except stem length. The highest seed imbibition (58.8%) and electric conductivity (82 µS/cm per gram) were achieved at 22 °C. The highest values for germination energy (70%), germination (68%), root length (31 mm) and total seedling length (77 mm) were achieved at 10 °C. When averaged over the inquired ambiental temperatures, the highest germination energy (71%), germination (73%), root length (34 mm) and total seedling length (78 mm) were achieved at pH 4.

Determination of buffering capacity of the selected feeds used in swine nutrition 猪营养选用饲料缓冲能力的测定

If gastric acidity is to be encouraged, it may be beneficial to eliminate some feed elements from pig starter meals since they bind more acid in the stomach than others. The cereals (wheat, maize, and barley), soybean meal, commercial mineral supplement, and two feed mixtures (one of them with the additive Zeolit) were evaluated. In this study, it was discovered that adding zeolite to the feed mixture had the effect of lowering its initial pH ( P <0.001), buffering ( P <0.05) and binding capacity ( P <0.05). This study aimed to measure the buffering and acid-binding capacity of some ingredients commonly used in growing pig feeds and estimate the coefficient of correlation between crude protein, ash, and the buffering capacity of feed ingredients with significant linear correlation ( P <0.05 and P <0.01, respectively). The combined impact of the individual feed mixture components' individual buffering capacities has not been proven.

Influence of peripheral speed of vacuum plates on seed spacing in popcorn maize seeding 真空板周边转速对玉米花玉米种子间距的影响

The simulation results of popcorn maize seeding in the laboratory at a theoretical spacing of 20.993 cm with vacuum plates with 18, 22, 27, 31, 33, 36, and 44 holes at working speeds of 4, 6, 8, and 10 km/h are presented. At a working speed of 6 km/h, the vacuum plate n = 18 with a peripheral speed of 0.223 m/s achieved an average seeding spacing of 21.518 cm, with a reduction of 1 650/ha plants. At this peripheral speed, the plate achieved a QFI of 97.19 with Prec. index (CV m ) of 13.108. The vacuum plate n = 44 at the lowest acceptable speed of the seeding machine with a peripheral speed of 0.091 m/s achieved an average spacing of 20.816 cm with a QFI index of 98.63 while Prec. index (CV m ) was 8.397. By increasing the working speed of 10 km/h, the listed vacuum plate achieved an average spacing of 20.935 cm, and an increase in seeding was recorded for 187 plants/ha where the achieved value of QFI index was 97.31 while the value of Prec. index (CV m ) was 14.041. The choice of vacuum plate, as well as the speed of work had a statistically significant effect on the set of plants and the seeding spacing. The obtained results of vacuum plates n = 22, 27, 31, 33 and n = 36 are within the limit values of vacuum plates n = 18 and n = 44. ABSTRACT The results of simulation of popcorn seeding in the laboratory at a theoretical spacing of 20.993 cm with vacuum plates with 18, 22, 27, 31, 33, 36, and 44 holes ø 4.5 mm at working speeds of 4, 6, 8, and 10 km/h are presented. The research was performed on a test bench for a pneumatic seeding machine under controlled conditions of the working speed of the seeding machine under vacuum with a filled vacuum plate of 4.66 kPa. After research with different distances of seed brushoff teeth from the center of the hole, it was found that at position 12 on the scale (the top of the last seed brushoff tooth was 0.50 mm from the center of the hole) the best average seeding spacing of 24.671 was achieved that is -0.021 cm deviation from the theoretical distance used in the survey of the position of the seed brushoff. The research was performed only with a vacuum plate n = 22 at a working speed of 6 km/h and a high QFI coefficient of 98.13 and MULT 1.13 and a MISS index of 0.75% were achieved, with Prec. index (CV m ) of 9.930. Investigation of the negative pressure of 4.66 kPa at the vacuum plates holes established that the air velocity at a distance of 5 mm from the edges of the vacuum plate opening was 3.026 m/s, and at a distance of 10 mm a value of 1.514 m/s, was recorded. Based on this, the correctness of the selection of the maximum number of vacuum plates hole openings of n = 44 with an opening spacing of 15.52 mm was confirmed. It is theoretically possible, given the air velocity of 1.602 m/s in the central space between the two holes, that individual seeds can adhere to this space between two adjacent holes.
