The paper provides a forecast of the socio-economic development of healthcare before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and taking into account its impact. The study is divided into two blocks: 2009-2018 with a forecast up to 2022 (alternative reality, where the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was not taken into account) and 2011-2020 with a forecast up to 2024 (actual reality). For this purpose, a methodology for assessing the pace of healthcare development has been developed and 126 forecast graphs have been built. A comparative analysis of the forecasts for the two periods according to the developed formula mathematically proves that the COVID-19 pandemic was a bifurcation point that launched the mechanism of the "black swan" theory and worsened all the emerging trends in the socio-economic development of healthcare in the Russian Federation over the past 10 years!

There are currently 3.8 billion social network users around the world. Social networks have an enormous potential for entrepreneurs to reach their customers and, consequently, increase their profit, reduce costs and increase productivity. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of social networks in the area of clinical nutrition from a dietitian point of view regarding the effectiveness of nutritional interventions and economic profitability of social networks. The results show that 56.2% of dietitians use social networks for professional purposes. About 84.4% increased the total number of consultations due to social networks, with the majority being able to retain more than 75% of customers (46.7%). With regards to effectiveness, 51.1% consider dietary approaches through social networks equally effective comparing to face-to-face approaches. We can conclude that the increased demand and interest in online services may constitute a business opportunity or a job opportunity for dietitians.

This study uses a geographic information system to create and analyse choropleth maps determining the distribution of prostate cancer in Texas and uses statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) software to analyse social determinants of health that may explain prostate cancer mortality. The data, collected for period 1999-2009, was furnished by the Texas Health Rankings and VitalWeb. The dataset was for 1999-2004 and 2004-2009. It comprised age-adjusted data specific to the 2000 US Standard Population data, based on an age-distributed and -weighted methodology to create age adjustments for statistical purposes. The study found there was a statistically significant (P < 0.05) percentage of African Americans with age-adjusted prostate cancer mortality, but no statistically significant correlations were found in other races. The study indicates a number of ways medical communities and public health agencies can employ geographical information system (GIS) and SPSS to screen for and treat prostate cancer more effectively.
