This article aims to analyze symbolic da'wah through the weaving motifs of Malay Sambas, West Kalimantan. This study uses an interpretive paradigm with a semiotic method. The data sources in this study were 22 motifs of Sambas Malay woven fabric. Data was obtained through observation and interviews. The data obtained were then analyzed using the semiotic triangle meaning model of Charles Sander Peirce. This study finds that the woven fabric motif is formed through a long process and closely relates to the socio-cultural construction of the Sambas Malay society. At this level, the Sambas Malay weaving motif is created from three elements: beauty, cultural identity, and the ethnoreligious reality of the Sambas Malay society, and efforts to internalize Islamic teachings in Sambas Malay life through the meaning and symbolic message of the motif. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Sambas Malay weaving motif is not only a cultural product of the Sambas Malay society but also a symbolic da’wah medium in the Sambas Malay society through a cultural approach.

Da'wah today has undergone a significant shift. This article discusses the market religion-based da'wah in the Teras Dakwah in Yogyakarta. This article uses netnographic and ethnographic studies to reveal the da'wah marketing of the Teras Dakwah. The paper finds that the consequences of market religion-based da'wah lead to the fusion of religious authorities, hybrid congregations, and delocalization of religious messages, including place, region, age, culture, language, and ethnicity. Thanks to its media marketing, the Teras Dakwah can freely enter diverse segments of young people across identities. The Teras Dakwah has become a religious entrepreneur. It spreads da’wah that is accepted as pleasure for young people based on considerations of rational choice and economic theory (law of demand and offers). The Teras Dakwah provides a form of da'wah program in a market mechanism that can be enjoyed based on the tastes of young people. The role of the Teras Da’wah media is very significant in the success of the Teras Dakwah religious program. The Teras Dakwah will not successfully reach various segments of young people from cross-religious hybrid identities if it does not use new media channels.

This study aims to determine the understanding of religious moderation related to the existence of the Hidayatullah Temple mosque as a form of acculturation of faith in Salatiga. The role of the manager of the Hidayatullah Temple Salatiga is spreading the value of the Islamic concept of wasathiyah, and determining the supporting and inhibiting factors of management. This type of research is qualitative research by conducting field research. The results of the study indicate that the existence of the Hidayatullah Temple Mosque is clear evidence of religious tolerance in intercultural communication and a manifestation of religious understanding regarding religious moderation in Salatiga. The architectural style of the Hidayatullah Temple is an instrument of acculturation of faith and religious harmony in Salatiga which has two essential roles, namely the formal and informal roles in spreading Islamic moderation values. The strategic location of the mosque makes it easy to coordinate and collaborate with various parties as a supporting factor in improving intercultural communication.

This low religious base causes the development of ex-prostitute in social institutions not to provide maximum results. They are in an unstable condition and very easily influenced to return to their old profession as prostitutes. One treatment that is considered appropriate to increase the religious awareness of ex-prostitute is through Islamic counseling as a da'wah approach. Understanding the polemic of wayang in da'wah, which is being discussed in the digital space, has shown how the contestation of religious authority is taking place. Differences in understanding, group background, culture, and interests as well as an ideology have made the dynamics of the contestation more complex. This article discusses the factors that influence the polemic about the use of wayang in da'wah in the digital space and complements the shortcomings of previous studies. This qualitative research uses the content analysis method on online media data and Twitter for a period of one month. The results of this study indicate that the contestation occurs not only in the gripping and traditional authorities but also in the new authorities who are present amid polemics. The media is part of an authority that has its logic, where media users are free to produce and market ideas in the digital space. This condition becomes a new problem that can undermine traditional authority's power and make the world of da'wah a religious contestation arena.

Feminist da'wah by women preachers on YouTube has formed Muslim interaction relationships that play a role in helping spread the teachings of Islam, especially for Muslim women who are packaged in da'wah messages that construct the role of women in the domestic sphere. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and qualitative descriptive to describe various conditions, situations or phenomena of social reality that occur on social media. Data collection techniques were carried out by documentation, observation and focus group discussion. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the construction of gender identity through the externalization process of adjustment to social reality, objectivation by using Islamic normative legal basis and internalization through acceptance and determination of choices in action. The cognitive reduction that occurs gives birth to the assumption of dominance, the assumption of limitation and the assumption of deviation in representing a da'wah message. Adjustments to the principle of justice and the basic conditions experienced by a woman are needed in understanding the message of da'wah.

This article discusses the virtual fragmentation of da'wah by Sufis in preserving religious harmony among the people of North Sumatra. Data were collected from observations, interviews, and documentation. The data is then described in depth using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model. The study suggests that Sufi Live is a virtual da'wah fragmentation of the harmony of the Sufi; Tuan Guru Batak (TGB) Ahmad Sabban Rajagukguk to revitalize two da'wah functions, namely the function of the treatise and grace. The role of the treatise is to direct social change in a civilized direction, and the role of grace is to establish religious harmony in North Sumatra. Da'wah themes of tolerance and harmony were delivered in polite language. Sufi Live Facebook delivers fragmented da'wah of religious harmony as a result of the assimilation of academic knowledge, Sufi life stories, and other social experiences that characterize TGB's life.

Da'wah is obligatory for every Muslim. Therefore, in Muslim societies, da'wah is conducted by various parties, including the government. In this paper, the researchers focus more on the da'wah program carried out by two government institutions in Brunei Darussalam, namely Radio Television Brunei and the Islamic Da'wah Center. These two institutions work hand in hand to help the success of da'wah programs in Brunei Darussalam. This article uses qualitative methods. It collects data from written resources such as books, newspapers, documents and others. Data is analyzed based on historical approach. This article finds that due to the da'wah programs of the Islamic Da'wah Center until 2020, the number of converts is increasing, and the Dusun Tribe is the largest ethnic group that converted to Islam in the last five years. This conversion is a good achievement in da'wah, especially in rural areas. This achievement is in line with Brunei Darussalam government programs to support the development of da'wah continues to live and thrive in the broader community in Brunei Darussalam.
