National defense is a form of effort to maintain state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national safety. In Indonesia, the national defense system is used in the form of a universal people's defense system that involves all resources prepared by the government and is carried out in a total, integrated, directed, and sustainable manner. The common people's defense and security system is used in dealing with various threats. Military threats place the Indonesian National Army (TNI) as the main component, while non-military threats place Ministries/Institutions as the main component. This study will identify how dentists can play a role in strengthening the defense system in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques through literature studies and field observations. The results showed that in strengthening the defense system, dentists had the following roles namely 1) examination and treatment of the dental and oral health of soldiers, when the condition of the teeth is not good, it would interfere with the personnel’s performance in the field; 2) in military operations, dentists also play a role in recording the ante mortem of troops; and 3) in the field of review, plays a very large role in identifying disaster victims, this is because teeth are the only part of the body that has a good level of resistance. Military dentists as one of the professionals in the health sector in Indonesia play an active role in strengthening the national defense system, but the distribution of human resources for health workers is still not evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. There needs an effort to manage dental health personnel so that the rights of every Indonesian citizen in the health sector, especially dental health, can be fulfilled optimally.

As Russia launched an invasion in every domain of warfare, including cyberspace, Ukraine employed an Information Technology (IT) army equipped with software called db1000n on March 2022. This article seeks to explain how the use of db1000n helps Ukraine against the 2022 Russian invasion. Using a case study as the research method and Susan Martin’s military utility concept as the analytical framework, this article found that db1000n helps to support Ukraine’s cyber warfare effort by being Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack software that possesses three types of military utility, namely technical utility, tactical utility, and strategic utility. Nevertheless, db1000n still has some limitations that cannot secure an easy victory in cyber warfare.

Mine warfare is still developing in line with technological developments. Technological developments in the field of mines have produced smart mines that can select targets as desired precisely and accurately. Currently, minehunting vessels are owned by the Indonesian Navy. In this study, an analysis of the capability of minehunting vessels class will be carried out including the capability of the sensor weapon command system, the professionalism of the crew, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) divers as well as ship degaussing systems. This study aims to analyze the ability of the class mine-hunting ships of the Indonesian Navy to deal with modern mine warfare, especially to deal with mines that can choose their targets or often called Smart Mines. This study uses quantitative research methods, namely data analysis with Measures Of Effectiveness (MOE) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods. This study found that the increase in Sewaco's ability to deal with modern mine warfare will also have to be followed by improvements or changes in tactics and strategies that are adapted to the increase in the ship's capabilities. This increase in the professionalism of soldiers is carried out at all levels of rank, starting from officers through Mine Warfare Officer (MWO) education either organized by the Navy or abroad, then at the non-commissioned and enlisted levels to improve their skills carried out through regular and scheduled training. Mine ships with a good degaussing system function will be very supportive in carrying out mine operations, stating that modern sea mines are equipped with sensors or magnetic sonar that are placed on the sea surface or below sea level. For this reason, the function of the degaussing system must be able to operate properly in the face of these modern mines.

Atapupu Fish Auction Facility (Tempat Pelengan Ikan or TPI) is a place used for fish landing, whether there is a building for mooring (pier) in that place, a sale of fish/sea products, whether by auction or not. TPI Atapupu has an impact on supervision and facilities for fishery resources so that they can be useful as food ingredients in Belu Regency. Currently, the TPI Atapupu has not been operating due to various obstacles since 2007. Therefore, this study aims to determine the reactivation strategy of TPI Atapupu for food security in the Belu Regency. The qualitative approach in this study explains the appropriate ends, means, and ways strategies in the reactivation of TPI Atapupu. Strategy development is based on an analysis of the relationship between TPI Atapupu and food security and the operational constraints of TPI Atatpupu. Food security is the fulfillment of food needs for households which is reflected in the availability of sufficient food, both in quantity and quality, evenly distributed, and affordable. The role of TPI in food security is to be able to provide a sufficient quantity of food; maintain food quality starting from quality, safety, and guaranteed nutrition; and the fulfillment of food needs for the people of Belu Regency. The implementation of the TPI Atapupu reactivation strategy for Food security in the Belu Regency is beneficial for policymakers so that later it can become a guideline in policy making.

The proposed strategic budget of US$ 104,247 billion submitted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense in mid-2021 has created a debate about Indonesia's Quo Vadis defense spending. Some questions need to be answered to provide insight into the process of selecting the best method for Indonesia's defense. Increasing national defense capabilities should refer to the global dynamics to accommodate Indonesia's national interests. This research uses document study, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), field observations for data collection, PEST analysis (Political, Economy, Social, and Technology), as well as SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and ends with interactive analysis to obtain inductive conclusions. The purpose of this study is to see how Indonesia's weaknesses and strengths, both hard power and soft power, thus proceed to interactive analysis. The results show that the soft power method is considered the most appropriate to the current global and strategic conditions. Increasing the capability of the defense equipment only without prioritizing aspects of the soft power approach has the potential to make Indonesia included in the mapping of major power state threats. The soft power approach must be put forward but also mutually enable hard power capabilities. The mutualism of those aspects is considered effective to gain Indonesia’s defense strength.

Indonesia is a country in the ring of fire and one of the most disaster-prone countries on the planet. As a result of these characteristics, Indonesia is vulnerable to earthquakes at any time. For the children, the earthquake was a traumatic experience. They were overcome with panic and dread. The victims of earthquakes and tsunamis are also susceptible to nightmares related to the natural disasters they have witnessed. As a result, there is a need for early childhood learning development media to deal with earthquakes, one of which is an android application. This program is designed for early childhood earthquakes and children’s attempts to comprehend earthquakes. For media development, this study uses the System Development Life Cycle method with Waterfall methodology and BlackBox testing. The results of the application test using BlackBox when generating all scenarios were successfully executed according to the expected results using three different device brands, including Xiaomi, Asus, and Samsung.

Strategic leadership of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense through its main competencies, namely conceptual, interpersonal, and technical, becomes an effective instrument in implementing defense diplomacy policies for the modernization of the Military's Main Equipment and Weapon Systems (Alat Utama Sistem Persenjataan or Alutsista). This study aims to analyze the strategic leadership of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia through the use of defense diplomacy to modernize defense equipment. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results showed that the ability of the strategic leader is categorized into 3 (three) main competencies, namely: (1) Communication, i.e. a leader is expected to be able to express what is felt and what needs to be done; (2) Negotiation, is the appearance of communication conducted against opponents or outsiders to achieve the goal; and (3) Competence, is a leader must have competence; Conceptual, technical, and interpersonal. In terms of projections of the development and modernization of the defense industry, it will gradually begin to be achieved with a gradual implementation mechanism. Thus, policy measures and the reach of Minimum Essentials Forces (MEF) in 2024 are fulfilled simultaneously.

Foreign intervention in interfering with domestic affairs is a violation of international law. The intervention was in the form of massive propaganda about Papuan separatists carried out on social media Twitter so an analytical tool was needed that made it easier to understand propaganda by foreign parties. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of social media analysis tools in the form of Social Bearing to understand foreign propaganda related to the Papua issue. This research is qualitative research using Modern Propaganda Theory. The results showed that Twitter account propaganda could be identified easily through the use of the Social Bearing analysis tool so that the @FreeWestPapuaNL account propaganda techniques and techniques could be identified and visible in the 11 results of the Social Bearing analysis, the account used pervasive propaganda methods while the propaganda techniques were Testimony and Card Stacking. These propaganda methods and techniques constitute a violation of international law due to foreign intervention in Indonesia's internal affairs. For this reason, Indonesia must reaffirm at international forums that the Papua problem is a domestic problem for Indonesia. In addition, foreign parties massively spread content about Papuan separatists, both from their tweets and by sharing tweets from other Twitter accounts. The use of separatist issues is more massive when there are moments that are closely related to the Papuan separatist issue

War is an important thing that is necessary for each country to defend the territory, as it can be a deterrent factor against the opposing war effort. In the modern era, war is no longer made by the truce, but it has been more referring to technology, politics, economy, etc. In this study, we analyze the causes of the Russia-Japan War, the strategies used in the Russia-Japan War, and lessons learned in the Russia-Japan war based on a military perspective. The theories used are a threat, energy, and war strategy. The methodology used is the qualitative descriptive method. Data for this study came from document review. The data were analyzed based on the analysis promoted by Miles and Huberman. This study found that The cause of the Japan-Russia war is the war developed from Russia's and Japan's rivalry for dominance in Korea and Manchuria. Japan planned a strategy that could cut the relationship between Port Arthur and the outside world. One interesting Russian strategy in the Japan-Russia war is when a public outcry against Alekseyev as commander in chief compelled Nicholas to send Kuropatkin to take over the command, although Alekseyev remained as viceroy. The Russia-Japan war underlines that a successful limited war strategy mandates the following: developing military capability commensurate to the strategy and identification of decisive points in the campaign; fostering synergy between the military and the political leadership; shaping the diplomatic environment for favorable war termination and compelling communication of the limited nature of the war to both domestic and international audiences
