During the Covid-19 pandemic, the movement of the terrorist groups or the radical groups, which should have been "dead" or remained silent during the pandemic, still takes place. Such a situation has compelled the researcher to conduct a study since the aim of the study is to explore the potential threats and objectives of terrorism in Indonesia during the pandemic. In conducting the study, terrorist recruitment theory and strategy theory are implemented along with the hierarchy of human needs to describe the reasons behind the active terrorist recruitment during the pandemic. The relevant data for the study are gathered through the implementation of interviews for collecting the primary data and library study for gathering the secondary data. After the data have been gathered, the data are analyzed using qualitative data analysis so that the case of active terrorist recruitment during the pandemic can be better described. Then, the results of the study conclude that massive recruitment is a new threat to efforts to prevent and eradicate terrorism because radical groups can mobilize many resources, especially human resources, to achieve their agenda and goals without being directly involved in executions in the field and the most accessible means to use in this massive recruitment effort is mass media because social media has anonymity, a broad spectrum, and low cost as a means of mass communication. Therefore, to stem the influence of radical groups on social media, security forces need to become social media as the main battlefield with several strategies such as increasing cyber patrols, blocking access to websites of radical groups, developing a critical understanding of cyberspace content or information, and empowering counter-opinions

The regional cooperation policy for the development of the Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline (TAGP) megaproject is one of Indonesia's efforts to secure national energy sources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the policies that have been implemented by the Indonesian Government in responding to various problems of energy insecurity in the gas sector. Indonesia's policy to actively participate in the TAGP project is believed to be one of the solutions to overcoming the national and regional gas energy crisis, besides, energy security caused many various other security issues. This article uses a non-traditional security perspective to see why and how energy security become a huge issue today. The result that we found, in this case, is that the effectiveness of the policy cannot be assessed optimally, for example, the guaranteed stability of natural gas energy security at the national level and regional, both in terms of availability, distribution, and affordability that still needs continuous improvement.

Navy Base of Bangka Belitung is a type B Navy Base under the operation of Main Navy Base III Jakarta. As a base, it has an important role in the series of Integrated Fleet Weapon Systems (Sistem Senjata Armada Terpadu, SSAT). Nave Base of Bangka Belitung has the main task of supporting administration and logistics for operation elements. Besides that, it plays the role of a unit that enforces the law and maintains maritime security, and also plays an active role in empowering the marine defense area. The port is an important facility in supporting the presence of navy elements that can provide a deterrence effect against threats to maritime security. However, the absence of a dock at Bangka Belitung Navy Base will limit the power of the navy element, that is why the process of law enforcement at sea will be carried out optimally with the presence of a dock. The purpose of this study was to analyze the dock establishment to support the navy power in Bangka Belitung Navy Base securing its maritime area. The theories used were sea power theory, maritime security, dock concept, and International Ship and Port Security Code (ISPS Code). This study used the literature review method, primary data obtained through important files related to the object of research and supported by secondary data in the form of books, journals, and documents related to the construction of the Navy Base of Bangka Belitung. The results showed that the dock can improve the performance of Bangka Belitung Navy Base elements in the support function of anchorage facilities, support for ship maintenance and repair facilities as well as support for supply facilities, support for law enforcement, and maintaining maritime security, as well as empowering marine areas

Since the end of World War II, the use of nuclear power as a weapon of war has been criticized for causing the deaths of up to 55 million people. Then there was a shift in the use of nuclear power from military to peaceful purposes, such as economic goals, and many countries built nuclear reactors as an alternative to conventional fuels. In addition, nuclear power can also serve as a very strong deterrent factor to prevent open war. Indonesia's geographical position is currently surrounded by countries that own nuclear reactors, such as North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, and India, followed by the formation of the AUKUS alliance of Australia, the United Kingdom (U.K.), and the United States (U.S.). With the geopolitical conditions and escalation in the region, Indonesia should take precautionary measures to avoid a nuclear war in the region. This study aims to identify the best anticipatory steps that can be taken by conducting in-depth Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and extracting data using questionnaires from ten academics, diplomats, nuclear experts, military personnel, and professionals, which results in several alternative options. The option is then analyzed to identify which is the best by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and confirmed with Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT ) Analysis. Based on the findings of the analysis, the sequence of anticipatory steps that must be taken is as follows: 1) through diplomacy; 2) through the strengthening of defense equipment; 3) participation in certain alliances, either temporarily or permanently, and 4) building a national nuclear capability as a deterrent. As a result, diplomacy remains the primary option for resolving the region's escalation

Indonesia is the world's largest source of nickel ore, controlling 27 percent of the global nickel market. Because of its unique physicochemical properties, such as malleability, high-temperature stability, strength, corrosion resistance, ductility, heat conductivity, and electrical conductivity, nickel is one of the most important metals in the industry. Nickel-based superalloys are commonly utilized to build hot-end components for aviation engines and gas turbines. The purpose of this study is to examine the use of Inconel 718 (IN718) for armor and its prospective development in Indonesia's military industry. The outcome demonstrates IN718's potential in the Indonesian defense industry, with the manufacturing of military aircraft gas turbines, submarines, military electric engines, and high-protection armor vehicles among its most prominent applications. Nickel may be recycled by using a nickel extraction technique like the liquid metal extraction-vacuum distillation (LME-VD), which produces no waste gas or solid and is environmentally beneficial. IN718's development is also by the government's goal of increasing the value-added of Indonesia's nickel production while minimizing environmental impact.

The issue of the South China Sea (SCS) dispute between the United States (U.S.) and China, which has not abated, has caused concern for countries in the region to escalate and lead to war from both sides. The thing that becomes the biggest threat when there is a nuclear war between the U.S. and China where will have an impact on several countries, one of them is Indonesia. This study tries to provide an overview of how to determine Indonesia's strategic policy from the hypothesis of existing policy options based on possible scenarios by formulating a strategic thinking framework to prevent the use of nuclear weapons as a result of the U.S.-China dispute in the SCS, using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) methods to determine the right policy strategy. The results of AHP and ANP methods show the same results, where ASEAN-SEANWFZ (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapons Free Zone) Multilateral Diplomacy is the Policy Choice that gets the biggest priority, and Peaceful Solutions become the Scenario that gets the highest priority.

There is a growing recognition of the importance of health security to economic development globally. ‘Health security’ as a phenomenon continues to receive the attention of academics and policymakers in the course of ensuring a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being for all. Nigeria’s health policy equally gives a premium to this. The aim of this study, hinging on archival and qualitative research design, is to explore health security in Nigeria vis-à-vis the constraining social and environmental vulnerabilities. The discourse took into account unfolding social challenges and various environmental problems coupled with the high level of poverty. This article indicates that social and environmental uncertainties interact with many parts of the health care system in a variety of ways. This hurts health security in Nigeria as a result of poor infrastructure development, insufficient government financing, the lack of an integrated system for disease prevention and monitoring, frequent policy reversals, security issues, and unimpressive health indicators. Because of this and considering the state of the Nigerian health care that is worsening on a global standard, it is obvious that health security is yet to have a strong footing. For health security to have a meaningful impact on people's wellbeing, appropriate health services should be made accessible to those who need them.

The world is facing the global trend of Industry 4.0 in the manufacturing sectors. The concept of the Internet of Underwater Thing (IoUT) presents the trends in the underwater region. The Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) as a data collector and transmitter becomes the central component in the connected system of the IoUT. The efficiency of the platform is crucial to lengthening the range and duration of the mission. The biomimetic method of utilizing the caudal fin propulsion could enhance the efficiency of the small and low-speed AUV. From the defense perspective, there is a concept of Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) that supports technological modernization for defense purposes. Technically, this study aims to combine the technical aspects of mechanical engineering and the defense concept of RMA in the technological advancement of AUV for the advanced and efficient defense strategy in the underwater region. The evaluations involved numerical simulation with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. The simulation results show that the fully tapered flexible fin enhances the efficiency by 25%, while the narrow flexible fin enhances the efficiency by 30%. These results indicate that a flexible tapered fin should be the primary consideration in designing the high-efficiency biomimetic fin. The visualization of the force vectors shows that the flexibility of the fin acts as a thrust vectoring factor that directs more force vectors in the thrust direction. This study supports the RMA concept implementation by technological modernization, such as efficient biomimetic AUV development, to develop doctrines in the State's defense in the underwater region.
