Visualization has by now become an integral part of modern-day research. With the advances in computation technology data display is extensively used in different fields of research, making data more explanatory and insightful. Graphical displays have also become very popular in sports, especially for television audiences. But with the improvement in technology, different stakeholders associated with sports have made use of data for measuring the performance of players, framing strategy, etc. Statistical graphics and tools of data visualization have played a significant role in sports analytics. In this paper, the authors try to develop a semi-graphical display that can be utilized to visualize the schedule of the tournament along with the outcome of all the matches. To explain how the display works, data from the ICC Twenty20 Cricket World Cup of 2022 was used. In the said tournament-12 teams participated. Though the cricket tournament is taken as an example to produce the display the presentation can be extended to other sports as well where more teams participate. Some potential areas where the display can be used are also discussed.

Abstract The study investigated the role of cultural impact on South Sudanese and Rwandan women who nowadays reside in the diaspora in Finland and Belgium. It explores the cultural violence against women before and after the 1994 Rwandan genocide against the Tutsis, and after the independency of South Sudan. This argument is presented through an analysis of existing literature and documents; and through interviews with 341 respondents (166 men and 175 women) belonging to the Rwandan diaspora in Belgium and in Finland; and 420 participants (302 females and 118 males) married, divorced, single mothers in South Sudan. The results show that women and girls in South Sudan continue to be at risk of violence from cultural impact more than Rwandan women. Poverty, education, and insecurity play a huge role in promoting aggression against South Sudanese women.

The regional bank consolidation in the 1990 and the global financial crisis 2008-2009 reshaped the global credit market broadly. This paper analyzes potential direct lending risks based on the commercial banks retreatment from the European middle market loan segment. Fundamental characteristics of the private debt market development, like the intensified competition for deals, yield compression and deterioration of creditor protections and the potential shadow banking risks are analyzed. Furthermore, the lack of market information, delayed valuations and varying investment volumes are discussed in the context of challenging monitoring. In the conclusion the paper explains the importance for the European regulators to prepare for a drawdown of the private debt market, via three lines of defense to take care of the underwriting process, monitoring loans and restructuring expertise. Finally, the paper recommends conducting research on the European private debt deal structure and underlying investments for a regulatory monitoring.

This study investigated the relationship between spiritual intelligence (SQ) and subjective well-being (SWB) in the workplace. The research used a sample of 216 participants who completed the Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory-24 (SISRI-24), Workplace PERMA Profiler, and WHO-5 Well-being Index. Descriptive statistics and paired t-tests were used to assess the data. Multiple regression analysis found that spiritual practices such as meditation, yoga, and Pranic healing can be applied to promote workplace performance by helping employees feel more connected to their workplace environments. The results demonstrated a large positive link between SQ and SWB, indicating that those with a higher SQ tend to engage in SWB at work. Moreover, the study found that the use of meditation, yoga, and pranic healing was analogous to higher SWB levels among participants, which can help employees cope with stress, enhance their emotional resilience, and improve their well-being. The findings indicate that adopting spiritual tools and techniques into employee well-being initiatives may result in enhanced workplace happiness and well-being.

Manufacturing sector productivity is one of main driver for economy grow in Europe. In the context of manufacturing sector digitalization, importance of influencing factors for productivity increase plays a key role. This paper aims to evaluate digitalization impact on EU manufacturing sector productivity, considering variables as relative size measures for the period of 2012-2020. There are strong believe that digitalization is an engine of innovation and competitiveness in manufacturing sector. Changing processes and integration of digital technologies leads manufacturing sector towards productivity increase. We perform OLS regression on sample of 5013 records covering 27 EU countries and 642 manufacturing firms over the years 2012-2020. Analysis consists of such factors as operating revenue, number of employees per company, tangible fixed assets, intangible fixed assets, profit and loss, investment to digitalization. We study ratio of digital investment to total assets as dependent variable to understand how investment decision of company can be evaluated with independent variables, identified in literature review. We build 3 models for regression analysis. Highest value of R-Square calculated for operating revenue as dependent variable is 0.299 and significance level is sufficient. Our results indicate that R-Square is 0.366 for relationship between digital investment and independent variables in analysis. Moreover, intangible assets impact is not significant considering digital investment outlay, which contradict believe stated in literature for direct intangible impact on digitalization. The main variable is number of employees per company with identified significant negative route.

The critical need everywhere in the 21 century world is to prepare students to lead healthy and fulfilling lives by providing them with relevant educational programmes inclusive of co-curricular practices. The study evaluated influence of co-curricular practices on effectiveness of substance abuse preventive intervention among secondary school students in Kakamega County. It adopted a cross-sectional survey design. The target population was 59675 form three students, 1080 class teachers, 530 G/Cteachers and 12 sub-county directors in the study area. Simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the sample size; 381 students, 108 class teachers, 53 G/C and 12 sub-county directors of education. Structured questionnaires, focus group discussion guide and interview guide were used to collect data which was subjected to descriptive and inferential analysis using Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Based on the correlation results, the study established that there is a positive association between co-curricular practices and effectiveness of substance abuse preventive interventions in the study area. From the regression results, co-curricular practices is a significant predictor. Therefore at 95% confidence limit co-curricular practices have statistically significant influence on effectiveness of substance abuse preventive intervention. The practices range from competitive games and sports, with the highest influence, followed by time allocated, frequency of participation, down to stars in co-curricular and lastly clubs. Overall, the study concludes that the success of effectiveness of substance abuse prevention is dependent on co-curricular practices. The intervention range from school administration, school location, open communication and finally random checks

The concerns of an overloaded curriculum persisted in Zambia’s education system as far back as 1992. This lasted until 2002 when the number of subjects was reduced from 11 to 5 in primary schools and from fourteen to six in colleges of education. The study established lecturers’ views on the integration of music, art and design and physical education subjects into expressive arts in colleges of education in Zambia in order to gain insights on prospects and challenges of how the process of integration was done and its implications on the subjects involved. A qualitative approach was adopted for the study in order to gain an understanding of arts integration through the views of college lecturers who train primary school teachers. Twenty-four lecturers were conveniently selected from ten colleges of education. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews and analysed along common themes that arose from participants narratives. The findings revealed that college lecturers saw arts integration as the merging of three subjects into one, a combination of more than two subjects that are related to one another in a number of ways such a s having similar competencies, and merging them into topics. The study reported some benefits and prospects of arts integration as ranging from according lessons a more practical approach, enhancing creativity among leaners, promoting transfer of learning, to supporting collaboration among lecturers and learners. Further, it was found that there were a number of challenges to arts integration ranging from time constraint, lack of human resource, lack of teaching and learning materials to limited knowledge to teach subjects as integrated. The study concluded that lecturers lacked a philosophical understanding of integration and were largely unable to integrate the subjects as expressive arts in actual teaching.

How the same theme is expressed in different poems, among different poets, is an interesting area of inquiry because style can determine the treatment of theme. Thus, this article dealt with a stylistic and thematic analysis of selected poems written by inmates of Mwembeshi Maximum Security Prison, and the relationship between the poetry and the prisoners’ prison experience. The study proceeded from the premise that inmate poetry offers authentic experience about life in prison. To achieve its aim the study utilised thematic and stylistic analysis of the poems. Among the key findings of the study is the idea that the poems were not only authentic but were reflection of the deepest feelings of the writers, thematically fresh and touching. The study concluded that most of the poems exhibit themes and stylistic approaches that reflect their prison lived experience and that not all poems use figures of speech to express their prison lived experience.

This study examined the social-semantic meaning of selected Zambian Senga nicknames within the Senga social and cultural milieu. It unveiled the social- semantic significance of selected Senga nicknames in relation to their social and cultural setting. It also established the etymology of the names as well as the social cultural significance of meanings expressed in the nicknames. This study adopted a qualitative approach. A purposive sampling technique was employed through which fourteen persons, who were considered sufficiently knowledgeable in the Senga language, provided an accurate explanation of the data. The participants were drawn from Chama District of the Eastern Province of Zambia. Data was collected through an interview guide, which was administered to the selected research participants. Data was analysed using Social Semiotic Theory. In line with social semiotics, nicknames express both connotative and denotative meanings. In addition, Senga nicknames have social and cultural significance in that they warn witches, discourage selfishness, provide wisdom, encourage, demonstrate endurance, reprimand, teach self-reliance, show ownership, discourage laziness, expose promiscuous behaviour, hard work and traditional beliefs. Lastly, it is recommended that other aspects of Senga anthroponyms may be researched on. These might include personal names, their etymology and semantic value.
