Background & Aims : Making skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby immediately after birth and starting breastfeeding within the first hour of birth is the fourth step of the ten steps of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI). However, this step is still not properly done in Iran. This study was designed with the aim of analyzing the factors preventing skin-to-skin contact in the first hour of life in healthy term infants. Materials & Methods : This research is a qualitative study with a content analysis approach. Data were collected by in-depth and semi-structural interviews using open-ended questions. Sampling was done in a purpose-based manner and continued until data saturation was reached. In total, we interviewed 27 experts, managers, and personnel of maternity service providers. Results : A total of 824 codes were extracted from the interviews, which were compared based on content affinity and then organized into 7 themes, 19 categories, and 75 subcategories. After qualitative data analysis, the themes were compared based on the four components of Walt and Gilson's policy triangle in four categories of creators, content, background, and process and included in them. We categorized instruction challenges as part of the content barriers within the topic, deficiencies of knowledge and awareness, skills, and the nature of the platform for conducting the contact process as part of the process barriers two topics, the challenge of supervision and monitoring at all levels of the system as well as the effective environmental components in the implementation of the contact program as part of the structural obstacles two topics, and finally the topic of the effective actors including the beneficiaries and their subordinates as part of obstacles related to the actors. Conclusion : Maternity ward staff face serious obstacles to skin-to-skin contact in the first hour of birth, especially in receiving continuous and sufficient training, having the necessary motivation and support from managers, and establishing modern supervision and reward system for optimal skin-to-skin contact in the first hour of birth.

Background & Aims : Development of the registry system for substance abuse poisoning may be useful in the systematic collection of information, prevention of poisonings, identification of people and monitoring them, ease of access to information, and decision-making in allocating resources. Evaluation of the usability of information systems is one of the most important ways to improve disease registration programs. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability of drug abuse registration system from the users' point of view at Urmia University of Medical Sciences. Materials & Methods : This study was a cross-sectional descriptive one conducted in 2022. In this study, the opinions of 21 system users were evaluated. Census sampling method was done from the cases reffered to the Imam Khomeini Educational and Medical Center in Urmia, Iran. Data collection tool was a standard QUIS questionnaire with 32 questions in 6 dimensions including: general interaction with the system, screen, system terms, learning ability, general capabilities of the system, and usability and user interface. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 16 software. Results : The results showed that the average score obtained in the six dimensions of the usability evaluation of the registry system for substance abuse poisoning were: 8.52 in system terms, 8.36 in screen, 8.28 in learning ability, 8.04 in general capabilities of the system, 7.98 in usability and user interface, and 7.73 in the general interaction, respectively. Conclusion : From the user's point of view, working with the registry system for substance abuse poisoning is simple and easy to learn, and the screen and system terms are appropriate. However, the users were relatively satisfied with the capabilities of system configuration capabilities and its reports. the some the quality of reports.

Background & Aims : The level of satisfaction of paramedical students of the University of Medical Sciences and its impact on the society, health, and health care system leads to bring up a highly efficient workforce and greater productivity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the satisfaction of paramedical students of Urmia University of Medical Sciences with their field of study and the factors affecting it in 2019. Materials & Methods : This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed on 242 students from different fields of study in the paramedical faculty of Urmia University of Medical Sciences. The data collection tool was a standard and structured questionnaire that consisted of two parts. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and analysis of variance. Results : The average score of students' interest in their field was 42.34 out of 54 points. Most students (73.6%) were interested in their field of study. There was a significant difference between age, field, transfer with the interest in the field. Among the other items of the questionnaire, “the position of the field in society” was one of the influential factors, while the item “I chose my field with full knowledge” had the weakest role. Conclusion : Interest scores were relatively lower in older students. Among other paramedical disciplines, health information technology students showed the least interest. Due to the effect of interest in the field of study on students' motivation, academic performance, snd their performance in the clinic, it is necessary for officials to develop programs to Improve the labor market and the material and spiritual status of various fields of medical sciences.
