Abstract Internationalization is a trend that, in the last two decades, has been firmly established in Latin America. However, this article argues that it is part of a historical process that has been constituted within the region with characteristics of its own. For this reason, this paper aims to identify the contributions of the 1918 Cordoba Reform to the analysis of the university internationalization process in Latin America. A bibliographical and documentary research with a historical content was carried out. Its result points out that the legacy of the reform, with regard to regional integration and the concept of university autonomy, contributes to a view of internationalization rooted in the Latin American context.

Resumen La difusión y transferencia del conocimiento son funciones prioritarias de la universidad. Los Museos Pedagógicos Universitarios (MPU) tienen que llevar a cabo esa actividad divulgadora. El artículo relata descriptivamente, cómo estos museos desarrollan este objetivo histórico educativo, al pretender que la ciudadanía ponga en valor el patrimonio educativo. Sin embargo, a pesar de los esfuerzos realizados, sigue siendo un reto pendiente ofertar más cultura científica informal a la sociedad.

Abstract The purpose of this article is to analyze prescriptions for oral dental inspections officially adopted in primary schools in São Paulo. It investigates official publications that help to read the guidelines given for the inspection, handling and care of children's teeth and mouths within the school space are investigated. It explores the relationship established between teething, school progress, and civilization, as well as the conduct adopted in cases of poor dental condition. Conclusions highlight the good results of problematizing the meanings attributed to the practices of inspection and physical examinations and the approximations made between the school and the scientific discourses elaborated about it.

Abstract This article aims to understand the school culture prescribed in the curricular plans sent to the Ministry of Education in 1959 to obtain authorization for experimental secondary classrooms in some schools of Porto Alegre (RS). Public schools proposed two different courses with nuclei of mandatory and elective subjects. The private school, directed to the female sex, defined only one school course, which consisted of mandatory and elective subjects, in addition to participation in clubs.

Abstract In this article, I explore part of Silva Lisboa’s production, where he reinforces state religion and the articulation between science and revelation, a condition to reach a “higher stage”, whose best example could be seen in Great Britain. In my view, with the Constitution of the Brazilian Empire, it was necessary to outline the grounds for a straight conduct, thus associating moral science and theology as a strategy to fight the catechisms of libertinism.

Resumo A principal hipótese deste trabalho é que Platão utiliza o riso como uma ferramenta pedagógica no diálogo Eutidemo. Procuramos evidenciar como o autor busca despertar no leitor a atenção para o comportamento risível dos dois irmãos sofistas, Eutidemo e Dionisodoro. Trata-se de evidenciar o resgate que o autor faz do personagem cômico de Sócrates para contrastar com esses sofistas, pois isso possui uma razão simultaneamente pedagógica e filosófica. O intuito é demonstrar que, na maior parte das vezes, as interpretações tradicionais tendem a subestimar os elementos cômicos nos diálogos platônicos, sobretudo ao tratar o autor como uma espécie de “domesticador do riso”.

Resumo Este artigo discute a gênese da psicotécnica nas décadas de 1920 a 1940, analisando, de forma comparada, três cursos de psicotécnica ministrados em São Paulo: por Roberto Mange, no Liceu de Artes e Ofícios, em 1926, e na Escola Livre de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo, em 1934; e por Henri Piéron, na Escola Normal de São Paulo, em 1926. A análise aqui envidada questiona a associação causal entre psicotécnica e taylorismo, que coloca o nome de Mange ao mesmo tempo como precursor e impulsionador das ideias de Taylor no Brasil. Além disso, ela mostra que, embora estes cursos respondam a projetos locais voltados à indústria e educação, eles expressam também a materialização de um projeto global, construído sobre ferramentas estatísticas, equipamentos padronizados e circulação internacional de textos e intelectuais, com implicações para a historiografia da psicologia no período.

Resumen En este artículo se analiza la evolución que experimentó la instrucción primaria en la provincia de Badajoz en el primer tercio del siglo XX. En este trabajo hemos recurrido tanto al análisis cuantitativo como al cualitativo, pues nuestro interés se ha centrado en buscar las causas que influyeron en el elevado índice de analfabetismo de la población pacense y su falta de escolarización. De este trabajo se desprende la conclusión de que existe una estrecha relación entre la estructura socioeconómica de un lugar y el grado de instrucción primaria.

Resumo O nosso estudo se dedica à análise das representações de Nestor dos Santos Lima sobre a organização escolar nas Repúblicas do Rio da Prata a partir de sua viagem pedagógica, realizada no ano de 1923, às cidades de Buenos Aires e Montevidéu. O intelectual norte-rio-grandense Nestor dos Santos Lima se destacou no cenário estadual e nacional pela sua atuação enquanto educador, advogado e historiador, e pela sua participação nas diferentes e mais relevantes instituições educacionais e culturais do Estado durante a primeira metade do século XX. Nosso referencial teórico é composto pelas contribuições de Roger Chartier, Michel de Certeau e Jean François Sirinelli. O corpus documental para a pesquisa se constitui, principalmente, pelo relatório da viagem produzido pelo intelectual. A partir do olhar do viajante, foi possível identificar os principais elementos que caracterizavam a organização do ensino, sobretudo primário e normal, nas cidades visitadas.

Abstract We discuss the relations and semantic variations of a conceptual triad, namely independence, democracy, and the making of the Brazilian people. To achieve it, we analyze the Brazilian Association of Education (ABE) discourse, between 1927 and 1945. We show that discourse on the making of the Brazilian people was to consolidate nation-state, even though this making did not include fostering the people’s political participation.
