: The safety of the troop in an armored vehicle is paramount. The most serious threat to armored vehicles is a buried charge explosion or an improvised explosive device. The use of numerical approaches in the validation of armored vehicles minimizes the number of prototypes needed and speeds up the design process. This research focuses on blast simulation utilizing the ConWep (which stands for conventional weapon) method for STRENX armor steel used for blast protection in ALM (which stands for anti-landmine) vehicles. The plate is modeled as a deformable solid with the Johnson-Cook plasticity model. In this paper protective plates were examined in order to determine which geometry gives the best protective conditions for the troop in an armored vehicle. Three different geometries were numerically tested, and two of them represent combined geometry. The maximal value of the plastic strain and maximal value of the vertical displacement of the central node on the protective plate was chosen as the parameters to represent the obtained results.

: The contribution describes the major problem with the secondary (recycled) alloys as the presence of unwanted elements due to the remelting of Al-scrap negatively affecting the quality of AlSi7Mg0.6 cast alloy. Iron is the most harmful impurity in the secondary Al-Si alloys, leading to the formation of β -Fe-rich (Al 5 FeSi) intermetallic phases that promotes forming of casting defects such as porosity and shrinkage by its needle-like shape. Suitable neutralizer alloying elements, such as Mn, influence the formation of Fe-needle-like phases and lead to the formation of less harmful Mn-containing α -Fe-rich phases. To optimize the morphology and properties of alloys, it is necessary to study the effects of individual alloying elements. Therefore, this study is focused on the effect of Mn addition on Fe-rich intermetallic phases and casting defects, thus the evaluation of its shape and distribution in AlSi7Mg0.6 secondary alloy.

: This paper presents experimental studies of the influence of an alternating magnetic field on the separation of magnetic liquid droplets from a capillary hole. The formation of waves on the surface of capillary volumes of a magnetic fluid flowing out of a capillary hole in a horizontal non-magnetic plate under the action of gravity in external alternating magnetic field is detected. Spherical, dumbbell-shaped, jet-shaped, and comb-shaped droplet geometries were observed. It is established that the shape of the waves formed could vary from waves running and standing on the surface of a growing drop to bending oscillations of a vertical fluid jet. The magnetic field parameters at which different instability patterns are observed were determined.

: The friction pair, disc, and pad in a braking system are in a delicate balance, with the pad being a complex combination of constituents that provides predictable characteristics, including a known and consistent friction level. In this investigation, L25 orthogonal array with arranged control factors is used for the design of experiment. Taguchi design, orthogonal array, S/N ratio and variance analysis (ANOVA) are used to explore the effect of factors like applied load, sliding speed and track or interface diameter on wear rate of brake pad friction material. In dry sliding conditions, wear tests are performed on the pin‐on‐disc tribometer with different load values (25‐125 N), sliding speeds (300‐1500 rpm) and track diameter values (40‐120 mm). ANOVA results stated that applied load is the most effective with 48.27 %, track diameter is 25 % and sliding speed is 19.23 % on wear rate of pad friction material. In order to obtain the minimum friction material wear rate, the optimum operating parameters have been identified as applied load is 25 N, sliding speed 1500 rpm and track diameter 60 mm. The computed and experimental values for pad material wear rate are adhere closer to 1.93 % of deviations only.
