Abstract: Surveys of the Insects of the Danum Valley Conservation Area in Sabah, Malaysia yielded species of the Scaphidiinae genus Cyparium Erichson, 1845. In the present paper, four are described while a fifth potential new species, only represented by a single female, is left undescribed. A key to the ten species of Cyparium known at present to occur in the Sundaland is provided.

Abstract: Henri de Saussure described 54 species and one subspecies currently placed in the family Blattidae, five of them in collaboration with Leo Zehntner. These species are listed alphabetically with an account of the type specimens found in the Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Genève. The location of type specimens in other museums is given where known. The current binominal combination for each species is provided. Photographs of six type specimens found in the Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Genève are presented with the labels associated with each.

Abstract: The present report provides new records, taxonomic notes, descriptions and redescriptions of several species of lesser-known thecate hydroids. Five species belong to the family Sertularellidae Maronna et al., 2016, one to the Syntheciidae Marktanner-Turneretscher, 1890, and one to the Aglaopheniidae Marktanner-Turneretscher, 1890. Type material of Sertularella conica Allman, 1877 was re-examined, and a modern redescription is provided, together with notes on its problematic synonymy that now includes S. gayi unituba Calder, 1991. Fertile specimens of S. inconstans Billard, 1919 are rediscovered, and its synonymy is broadened through the inclusion of S. natalensis Millard, 1968. A new species, S. malagasiensis sp. nov., is described from the south of Madagascar. Sertularia exigua/laxa Allman, 1888, a hydroid assignable to the genus Sertularella Gray, 1848, is found to have both primary and secondary homonyms; its taxonomy is discussed, and the replacement name S. mutatnomen nom. nov. is introduced for it. Sertularella pellucida Jäderholm, 1907 is recorded for the first time from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, outside its previously-known main area of occurrence, in the Arctic Ocean. The sexually-dimorphic gonothecae of Synthecium brucei Vervoort & Watson, 2003 are described for the first time. Halicornaria setosa Armstrong, 1879 is rediscovered in material from the Red Sea, and the binomen is removed from the synonymy of Taxella eximia Allman, 1874, while transferring it to the genus Taxella Allman, 1874, as T. setosa comb. nov., on the account of its gonothecae not protected by phylactocarps.

Abstract: Nine new Psyllipsocus species are described and illustrated. Three species from the Greater Sunda Islands: P. hollieri sp. nov. (Indonesia: Sumatra), P. uncinatus sp. nov. (Malaysia: Borneo: Sabah), P. bauensis sp. nov. (Malaysia: Borneo: Sarawak), and six species from Thailand: P. fusciceps sp. nov., P. prominens sp. nov., P. simplex sp. nov., P. cluniopilosus sp. nov., P. bidentatus sp. nov., P. quadridentatus sp. nov. They belong to four small groups of species which are each characterized by at least one striking autapomorphy (e.g. a novel possibly proprioreceptive male abdominal organ). One of these species groups includes also P. disparunguis Lienhard, only known from the United Arab Emirates. The number of Psyllipsocus species known from the Oriental Region is herewith augmented to 26, 17 of them recorded from Southeast Asia.

Abstract The genus Lederina Nikitsky & Belov, 1982 (Melandryidae: Melandryinae) is recorded for the first time from Taiwan with six new species: L. armadillo sp. nov., L. formosa sp. nov., L. insula sp. nov., L. smetanai sp. nov., L. viti sp. nov., and L. yushanensis sp. nov., which are described and illustrated. A key to the Taiwanese species is given. The lack of knowledge concerning the species of Lederina as well as the possible diversity of the genus in eastern Asia is briefly discussed.

Abstract A key challenge of natural history museums across the globe is to make collections accessible to researchers and the public alike. Through advances in digitization, databasing, online data curation and long-term storage, it is now possible to give access to the type material housed in museums, which represent the most precious specimens in collections. Here, we have generated a fully illustrated online catalogue of all primary and secondary Diptera types housed in the Muséum d'histoire naturelle of Geneva (MHNG). High-resolution habitus photographs of all type specimens and their labels are available on a digital repository, and an exhaustive list of this type material is provided. The MHNG collection holds 152 holotypes and 2025 paratypes with Empididae, Lauxaniidae, Sphaeroceridae and Tephritidae being the most represented families. Although the current Diptera collection is relatively recent, the ca. 150 000 specimens and associated type material are important resources for future taxonomic and systematic studies.

Abstract: Woodlice (Isopoda: Oniscidea) represents a group of arthropods that has been neglected in Switzerland. The last comprehensive review on Swiss woodlice was published more than a century ago. In the present work, we update the checklist of woodlice in Switzerland and provide information on the distribution of each species as well as further remarks. We considered information on recent records of woodlice from different regions and habitats of Switzerland and present new species records, which are mainly based on a survey of heated greenhouses in nine botanical gardens and other institutions across Switzerland and a field survey in the Swiss National Park. Altogether, we found six new species for Switzerland. Five of them are exotic species, captured so far exclusively in heated greenhouses: Reductoniscus costulatus Kesselyák, 1930, Venezillo parvus (Budde-Lund, 1885), Chaetophiloscia cellaria (Dollfus, 1884), Nagurus cristatus (Dollfus, 1889), Buddelundiella cataractae Verhoeff, 1930b, and Miktoniscus linearis (Patience, 1908). Thus, the updated checklist of terrestrial woodlice in Switzerland comprises 50 species.
