The paper considers the process of excitation of a wakefield in a plasma by a laser pulse. The plasma density corresponds to the density of free electrons in the metal. A method is demonstrated for keeping self-injected bunch in the accelerating phase of the wakefield as laser pulse and bunch move in plasma with an increasing density gradient. Thus, the rate of acceleration of self-injected bunch is maintained and enhanced.

The exact solution of the equation for the frequency of parametric X-ray radiation (PXR) of relativistic charged particles moving in a crystal is obtained and compared to the approximate solution. It is found that the exact solution is in good agreement with the approximate one and that the approximate PXR frequency solution is practically correct for a comparison to experimental data.

A system of the hydrodynamic equations describing the electron flows in a diode with a virtual cathode is considered. Collisions are considered by introducing the corresponding braking force into the equations of motion. The stationary states of the electron flows are described. In a linear approximation, formulas are obtained for the frequencies of electron oscillations in a diode with a virtual cathode, considering the effective frequency of electron collisions. The expression for the decrement of oscillations due to the presence of collisions is obtained.

The effectiveness of plasma chemical technology in reducing the concentration of ethylene impurities in order to extend the shelf life of kiwifruit has been studied. Ethylene and mold were controlled by plasma treatment, which slowed the ripening of kiwifruit and significantly inhibited rotting. When storing kiwifruit using the plasma chemical system, the level of ethylene was twice lower than that measured in the control batch. Also, the level of ethylene practically did not change during the entire period of the experiment, since the ethylene released from the fruit was quickly oxidized by ozone. Air treatment of kiwifruit storage environment resulted in the fact that ripening mechanism was delayed and the loss of fruits during their further transportation and storage was almost completely prevented. Thus, high efficiency of plasma-chemical method for extending kiwifruit shelf life was shown as well as the prospects of its application. Storage period can be doubled while preserving the subtle aroma of fruits. The features of H– ion emission from gas-feed-free Penning-type ion source with metal hydride cathode have been studied in pulsating regime. The metal hydride cathode provided local injection of hydrogen in activated state and impacts on Penning discharge ability to emit H– ions in the longitudinal direction. For stimulation of pre-excited hydrogen desorption from metal hydride the voltage pulse (4.5 kV, τ ≈ 15 µs) was performed against the background constant voltage of 6 kV on the anode of the discharge. The H– ion current of about 0.2 mA was obtained.

Physico-topological simulation of a transmission X-ray tube (TRT) with inductionally heated thermionic cathode is presented, taking into account physical properties of functional elements and their design. Modeling is based on physical fundamentals for vacuum electronics and electrodynamics using ComSol. The distributions of electromagnetic fields, currents, temperature, and trajectories of thermoelectrons were calculated. The analysis of electron trajectories made it possible to optimize TRT topology and design.

Optimal voltage values were established for plasma guns and the pulsed current generator providing maximum break current values. The current values were determined for the plasma jumper formation region. The optimal time delay between the triggering of the plasma guns and the pulsed current generator has been established. The beam current was measured in the region behind the vacuum diode and in the plasma jumper region. The ultimate current was determined for the available plant geometry.

A study was conducted to determine the fungicidal activity of a sanitary contaminant of feeds – representatives of the genus Aspergillus Mich. – species of Aspergillus flavus using the ozone treatment method, treatment with the composition of Ag and Cu nanoparticles and the combined effect of these methods. When studying the combined effect of ozone, NPAg and NPCu, it was found that at the concentration ratio of 100:100 μg/cm3, there was a fungicidal effect on museum strains of Aspergillus flavus test cultures, i.e., the combination with ozone enhanced the antifungal properties of nanocomplex.

Effective methods are suggested for exciting gigahertz-range oscillations in coaxial lines that contain ferrite rings and isotropic material. Within the gyrotropic section, the primary pulsed waveform gets transformed from the TEM into a TM mode. Its further development is analyzed, following the results of real-life and numerical experiments. Special attention is paid to amplitude variations of the ТМ mode, owing to the nonlinear response of the ferrite.

In the vicinity of the poles of the planets of the solar system, ordered crystals of vortices and intermittency are observed. The formation of vortex structures in the vicinity of the poles of the planets of the solar system is investigated. The conditions for the formation of vortexes are considered. A nonlinear equation was found describing the vortex dynamics and structures were studied.
