The study aimed at the inclusion of entrepreneurship in the education curriculum and the inability of graduates to get jobs in Kogi State. Thus entrepreneurship education and its impact on graduate unemployment were investigated. A descriptive survey design was used to achieve the study’s objectives. Six (6) higher institutions in Kogi State were chosen to make up the study’s population. Due to the nature of the research, we concentrated on students. The study determined the sample size of 385. Inferential and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data gathered. Multiple regression analysis (inferential statistics) was applied to unveil the impact of independent variables on the dependent variable. The finding showed that entrepreneurship education has a significant effect on the unemployment rate of graduates in Kogi state. The study concluded that entrepreneurship in the education curriculum can influence a reduction in the unemployment rate of graduates in Kogi State. The study recommended the review of policy relative to entrepreneurial education to enhance the high degree of its effectiveness in Kogi State higher institutions.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of entrepreneurship skills development on employment generation strategy in tertiary institutions in Lagos State. Descriptive survey research method was used to elicit information from the respondents. The population of study was 5000 students from eight tertiary institutions in the state that registered for ready set work programme organized by Lagos State government. The samples for the study were 370 using Yamane (1967) formula while, purposive and simple random sampling technique was used to select participants for the study and questionnaire administration was engaged as instrument to elicit information from the participants. Regression and ANOVA inferential statistical tools were adopted. Three tested hypotheses were consonant with the objectives of the study. The study revealed that employability skill had significant impact on job orientation; vocational skill enhanced job creation and life skill positively affect self-employment. The study recommends the need for graduate of higher institutions to be adequately equipped with generic entrepreneurship skills in other to be employable, employer of labour, self-employed and to compete in the global business environment to improve employment and reduce poverty.

Despite the fact that past empirical studies have reported that numerous factors affect the performance of SMEs in Nigeria, yet power supply, which is the strategic driver of economic activities and its spillover effects on the performance of SMEs in Nigeria has not been fully investigated in the country. Against this backdrop, this study examined the impact of electricity on the performance of SMEs in Ado-Odo, Ota LGA, Ogun State. Consequently, the questionnaires were administered to the respondents using the method of purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), variance analysis (ANOVA) and Correlations and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) techniques. A total of 120 questionnaires were distributed, of which 90 were compiled and analyzed. The findings showed that there is significant impact of electricity supply on the performance of SMEs in Ado-Odo Ota Area, in Ogun State. Also, alternative power sources have significant impact on performance of SME in Ado-Odo Ota Area, in Ogun State. Therefore, by and large, from the findings of this study, the paper made the following recommendation for the policymakers and business owners in Ado-Odo, Ota Area of Ogun State in particular, and Nigeria by extension that sufficient supply of electricity should be placed in a place that maximizes the efficiency of small and medium-sized businesses. In the same vein, SMEs owners should strive to use alternative sources of power to boost the performance of SMEs, and meet their market objectives.

Few would challenge the proposition that employability skills are fundamental for success in the workplace. Yet much evidence suggests the skills mismatch and hiring talent is of great concern to employers around the globe. When it comes to ‘hard’ data with reference to employability skills in the Tanzanian context, there is a dearth of empirically verifiable statistics from an academic standpoint. The study takes up this challenge to investigate perceptions of 314 graduates on the role of university education in preparing them for the world of employment. Findings have shown a different perspective regarding the quality and employability of Tanzanian graduates. Graduates were appreciative of their university education and were confident that they can meet the requirements of the labour market. However, they acknowledged their theoretical knowledge has little value until they can apply it for practical purposes thus implying their participation in society and ability to cope with changes and recover from problems and challenges brought about by the world of work will be limited. The study urges Tanzania to cautiously devise and execute a plan for developing skills for employability within the education system and ultimately build world class-education systems which will enhance employment prospects for graduates.

The paper deals with the evolution during a period of over 60 years of the investment policy of the European Union, pointing out the main moments that marked the steps taken towards the progressive shaping of an increasingly unitary character of this policy. The increase of the interest of foreign investors for strategic, sensitive sectors of the economy of the member countries determined, after 2017, a change in the philosophy of establishing and applying the Union's investment policy, materialized in the more precise definition of "foreign investor" and in implementing a more rigorous mechanism of control of foreign direct investment. Further on are presented the main effects of foreign investment in the Community economy, resulting from empirical studies on this topic, the conclusions reached by these studies being sometimes divergent.

This study presents the incidence and determinants of unemployment among educated youths in Rajshahi city of Bangladesh. For this purpose, the study analyses primary data collected from randomly selected 250 graduated students of different educational institutions in Rajshahi city by applying two-fold approaches, such as descriptive statistics, and logistic regression analysis. The descriptive statistics approach finds the rate of unemployment among educated youths in the city is 59.2% and the mean duration of unemployment is 2.5 years. The logistic regression results find that the probability of being unemployed will be decreased if the educated youths are migrated to Dhaka city, have internet access, and are connected with social network but if they have job preferences, the probability of being unemployment will be increased. Therefore, institutional facilities, job related trainings, and the development of service sector in Rajshahi city can be crucial solution of the problem.

The study investigates the impact of economic growth and fuel subsidy on the environment of Nigeria from the year 1985-2018. We used Auto-regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) to analyse the data employed in this study. From our findings, it was revealed that output per head had a positive and significant impact on carbon emission both in the long-run and short-run, while subsidy which explains government policy also had a negative and significant impact on carbon emission both in the short-run and long-run. The Error Correction Model (ECM) showed that 96% of shocks in the response variable are corrected in the long-run by the independent variables. It was concluded that increasing output in the economy increases the amount of carbon emission in the economy while removal of fuel subsidy reduces the amount of carbon emission in the economy. Therefore, effective policies should be implemented towards reducing carbon emission without hampering the growth of the economy.
