Composite membranes for dialysis were prepared by a Loeb-Sourirajan (L-S) phase inversion process. Bovine serum albumin was chose to replace the human serum albumin for researching. Then the flux attenuation coefficient and the protein absorption of the dialysis membrane was calculated and tested in order to reflect the effect of cellulose nanofibers on the anti-fouling performance of membrane. Finally, four methods of membrane cleaning were compared and an integrated approach was suggested.

The mobility of arsenic in aquatic environment is largely governed by its speciation and adsorption on the surfaces of minerals. Hydrous manganese oxide (HMO) plays an important role in redox transformation of arsenic in aquatic environment and is available for remedy of groundwater with high arsenic concentration. Carbonate is often present as major anion in groundwater and its influence on adsorption and transformation of arsenite (As(III)) on HMO is not understood well. This work studied the effect of carbonate on the adsorption and oxidation of As(III) on HMO. The results showed that oxidation of As(III) followed first-order kinetics. The reaction rate constant in the presence of carbonate (k1 = 0.365 h-1) was 2.4 times higher than that in the absence of carbonate (k1 = 0.152 h-1). Precipitation of manganese carbonate may be responsible for the enhanced oxidation of As(III) since adsorption of Mn(II) on HMO will decrease the number of active sites for As(III) oxidation. Precipitation of Mn(II) may also control the manganese pollution by suppressing Mn(II) release.

To assess the hydrologic features of the alpine river systems in the Huangbengliu basin, stable isotopic composition was measured on more than 150 water samples, including meteoric water, stream water, ice-snow meltwater and ground water, collected almost monthly in 2008 and 2009. The results of this work indicate that: (i) the stable isotope of meteoric waters has amount effect, and melt water is most depleted, and ground water and river water show evident seasonal variation due to the influence of meteoric water; (ii) there exist overall different spatial and temporal trends in isotopic variations between the sampling locations in stream flow, which are mainly caused by the influences of various water sources and the effects of tributary water inputs; (iii) using a δ18O based binary model, we estimated that the annual proportion of ice-snow meltwater inputs over the total stream flow varied from 39.84% to 81.89%, and that of ground water varied from 18.1% to 60.16%. Ice-snow meltwater is an important source of the alpine rivers, and precipitation provides the main part of seasonal variations of stream water in δ18O and δD. The ice-snow meltwater is significantly important in the alpine water source management in the periphery of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

The electrochemical degradation method of sunset yellow on the FTO conductive glass was developed. The effect of supporting electrolyte, electrolytic voltage, solution acidity, degradation time and other factors on degradation rate was investigated. The results showed that degradation rate of the sunset yellow could be 95%, after sunset yellow was electrolysis in Britton-Robinson(BR) buffer resolution (pH 7.24) with 0.05mol/L NaCl by 8 V for 10 min.
