Main beam deflection and gain enhancement in superstrate-based antenna systems 上基天线系统中的主波束偏转与增益增强

The beam of an antenna can be controlled by placing high refractive index superstrates. In this paper, a plane-wave model of a microstrip antenna covered with a high refractive index is introduced. The antenna-superstrate system is analyzed by calculating its transmission response. When the patch is fully covered with the superstrate, the transmission response is truncated along the end-fire angles resulting in gain enhancement. On the other hand, when the superstrate partially covers the patch, a phase imbalance between the electromagnetic radiations emitted from the two radiating slots is produced. This imbalance causes the main beam to deflect from the broadside direction. Full-wave and plane-wave simulations show beam deflections close to 40 degrees. Tunable superstrates can thus be applied to steer the beam of a patch. Hence a novel method is introduced which has been traditionally done using multiple antenna elements with phase shifters.

Analogue orthogonal precoding using reduced-complexity transceivers 使用低复杂度收发器的模拟正交预编码

Orthogonal transmission toward N undesired receivers via conventional digital beamforming techniques requires at minimum (N + 1) active transmit antennas. As the radio frequency (RF) complexity increases linearly with the number of active antennas, orthogonal transmit precoding becomes impractical for simple user terminals. The paper proposes an alternative solution utilizing a single-radio reactance-assisted antenna system, featuring low-power consumption, low cost and ease of fabrication. The orthogonal precoding technique to be proposed emulates classical digital orthogonal precoding for suppressing the interference toward a number of users, but at highly reduced RF complexity.

Efficiency of short-distance wireless transmission considering radiation loss 考虑辐射损耗的短距离无线传输效率

To evaluate radiation loss and conductor loss which are the cause of deterioration in the wireless electric power transmission, a calculation method of a transmission electric power, a radiated power, and a conductor loss as a ratio to the input electric power is proposed. The dependency of these ratios on the resistance and the reactance of the receiving circuit are clarified for the short distance wireless electric power transmission between small dipoles, and the method to improve the transmitting efficiency is investigated.

Aperiodic conformal reflectarrays 非周期共形反射射线

We introduce a new class of reflectarrays, namely, the aperiodic conformal reflectarrays, aimed at exploiting, as much as possible, the available degrees of freedom of the radiating structure, such as positions, orientations and characteristics of the radiating elements and the shape of the reflecting surface. A synthesis technique is outlined, properly dealing with key aspects such as the complexity of the employed radiative model, the algorithms exploited to achieve the final solution, the hardware adopted to run the synthesis code, and the constraints dictated by physical and manufacturing requirements. The potentialities of aperiodic conformal reflectarrays are discussed, also with the aid of a numerical example.

Closely located dual PIFAs with T-slot induced high isolation for MIMO terminals 紧密定位双pifa与t槽诱导高隔离MIMO终端

This paper presents an efficient technique to enhance the isolation between two closely spaced PIFAs for MIMO mobile terminals. The proposed decoupling method is based on a T-shape slot impedance transformer and it enables an inter-PIFA spacing of 1 mm to be achieved. The 10 dB impedance bandwidth and 20 dB isolation bandwidth cover the 2.4 GHz WLAN band (2.4–2.48 GHz), with a maximum isolation of 44 dB. The efficiency, gain, radiation patterns of the two-PIFA prototype are also verified in measurements.

Ultra-wideband omnidirectional low-profile miniaturized 3-dimensional (3-D) traveling-wave (TW) antenna 超宽带全向低轮廓小型化三维行波天线

This paper reports findings of a new ultra-wideband low-profile miniaturized 3-D (three-dimension) Traveling Wave (TW) omnidirectional antenna. Evolved from an ultra-wideband low-profile 2-D TW antenna, the 3-D TW antenna's size, and thus its weight and cost, were reduced by a factor of up to 6, that is, to only 1/6 that of the 2-D TW antenna. For such a large payoff, the 3-D TW technique only raised the antenna height by 30% from the low-profile 2-D model. Since the 2-D design is a low-profile antenna, the height increase only minimally degraded its desirable low profile feature.

Multi-frequency printed loop antenna for mobile phone application 用于手机的多频印刷环形天线

The printed loop antenna for multi-frequency operation in the mobile phone application is proposed. The loop antenna consists of an inverted-L shaped strip and a rectangular patch on the front side, while the back side consists of a meander loop antenna and a 100×60 mm2 ground plane. The inverted-L shaped strip and the rectangular patch are connected with a 50 Ω microstrip line. The feeding mechanism is coupled-fed method, which excites the loop antenna through the inverted-L strip and the rectangular patch. The loop antenna provides two wide operating bands centered at about 810 and 2175 MHz for LTE700/GSM850/GSM900/DCS/PCS/UMTS/LTE2300/WLAN/LTE2500 bands operation. The proposed antenna also has the advantages of low profile, low cost, ease fabrication, and less affected by changing ground plane size.

A joint waveform and array signal processing approach is proposed to minimize MIMO radar antenna radiation power for best low probability of intercept (LPI) property in pre-selected directions and to achieve near-optimum target detection simultaneously. Some simulation results are presented.

Dielectric strings: A low clutter method for bistatic RCS measurements 介电串:双基地RCS测量的低杂波方法

Bistatic RCS measurements have seen a recent resurgence as interest in passive coherent location (PCL) systems and other survivable detection schemes has increased. Low RCS bistatic measurements in particular provide a unique challenge to the RCS metrologist as noise, clutter, and interfering signals become significant relative to the desired signal. Traditional methods for supporting the bistatic antenna/receiver often provide a significant source of moving clutter that interacts strongly with the target. This paper presents a new low clutter method based on recent advances in string-based target support systems. A simple experiment is described and the resulting fixed angle bistatic measurement results are qualitatively analyzed, clearly demonstrating the benefits of the proposed methodology.

Rain-rate time series generation algorithm at two different locations for millimeter-wave wireless link simulator 毫米波无线链路模拟器两个不同位置雨率时间序列生成算法

Rain-rate time series generation algorithm at two different locations is developed for millimeter-wave wireless link simulator. Dependent rain-rate time series was generated by introducing different location rain rate conditional probability distribution. The proposed algorithm is investigated using measured data in Tokyo Tech millimeter-wave model network. Similarity of shape and time shifting characteristic is observed in the generated rain-rate time series.
针对毫米波无线链路模拟器,提出了两个不同位置的雨率时间序列生成算法。通过引入不同位置雨率条件概率分布,生成相关雨率时间序列。利用东京工业毫米波模型网络的实测数据对该算法进行了研究。生成的雨率时间序列具有相似的形状和时移特征。
