Face detection using generic eye template matching 人脸检测的通用眼模板匹配

Face identification and detection has become very popular, interesting and wide field of current research area. As there are several algorithms for face detection exist but none of the algorithms globally detect all sorts of human faces among the different colors and intensities in a given picture. In this paper, a novel method for face detection technique has been described. Here, the centers of both the eyes are detected using generic eye template matching method. After detecting the center of both the eyes, the corresponding face bounding box is determined. The experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm is able to accomplish successfully proper detection and to mark the exact face and eye region in the given image.

Solving resource-constrained project scheduling problem by genetic algorithm 利用遗传算法求解资源受限的项目调度问题

This paper proposes a genetic algorithm to solve resource constrained project scheduling problem, in which resources are optimally allocated to tasks. Resources are renewable. In RCPSP each activity is executing in single mode. This work employed genetic algorithm to schedule project task to minimize makespan respect to resource constraint and precedence constraint. The Schedule Generation Scheme was used to decode project plan. The approach was tested on a set of standard problem obtained from Project Scheduling Problem Library (PSLIB) and algorithm given in this paper was compared with the existing optimization algorithm, the result reveals that the algorithm is effective for the RCPSP.

An optimized k-NN classifier based on minimum spanning tree for email filtering 基于最小生成树的电子邮件过滤优化k-NN分类器

In the era of internet where mailboxes are being flooded by unnecessary emails, it becomes troublesome and time consuming to organize and classify legitimate emails into folders. Although there has been extensive investigation of automatic document categorization, email classification gives rise to a number of challenges, and there has been relatively little study in this domain. This paper presents a framework for email classification using Enron email dataset based on an improved k-NN classification using a minimum spanning tree clustering algorithm considering the case where the number of clusters (email folders) are unknown initially. Such a classification can be useful in maintaining email and web directories, identifying spam and valid mails. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms state of art classification algorithms like standard k-NN and Naïve Bayes classifiers and c4.5 decision tree classifier.

Design and analysis of a modified TCP for Optical Burst Switched networks 光突发交换网络中改进TCP的设计与分析

Performance of existing TCP implementation are not satisfactory in Optical Burst Switched (OBS) networks. TCP throughput suffers in OBS networks due to undesired timer expiry as a result of burst loss in bufferless OBS networks. TCP misinterprets any loss as a signal for congestion and burst assembler introduces different delays to different TCP segments. In this paper we propose a loss differentiation scheme that includes the assembly time in the decision making process. We present a protocol level technique for estimating assembly time at the TCP end points and use this information to differentiate congestion induced loss or contention induced loss.

Optimization of the design mechanisms for superior performance- A study of selected indian organizations 卓越绩效设计机制的优化——对选定印度组织的研究

The exhaustive research on organization design, its transformation, change management, organizational restructuring for the last two decades makes it a challenging and complex research issue. The central problem is to design the organizations for superior performance on the basis of redesign mechanisms such as uncertainty, differentiation and integration. In the backdrop of the ongoing economic liberalization in India, the specified sector that includes Chemical, Petro-chemical Process Industry, Agro-based Industry, Processed Food Industry, Bio-Chemical related Industry was undertaken for research. The objective is to find the optimum value of redesign mechanisms which can maximize the corporate level performance of the identified groups of the specified sector in the given context.

In this study an attempt has been made to examine the determinants of capital structure in companies belonging to the Indian Cement Industry during Pre and Post Recession period. To study the influence of various independent variables on the capital structure, Multiple Regression Analysis has been carried out taking the “ratio of average total debt to average total assets” as dependent variable and seven variables, which might have some impact on the capital structure, as independent variables. These seven variables are namely “Business risk”, “Size of the firm”, “Growth rate”, “Debt service capacity”, “Degree of operating leverage”, “Dividend payout”, and “Earning rate”.

PERM: Performance Evaluated Routing Mechanism in Delay Tolerant Networks 延迟容忍网络中的性能评估路由机制

The Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) are special networks wherein no two nodes share any continuous or dedicated path. Nodes go up and down various times a day and do not behave in any prescribed or probabilistic manner. In such a scenario message flooding seems the easiest solution but it is a costly affair. Network connections being so abrupt, the chance of delivery of a message gets affected hugely by the strategy we use to flood the messages. Nevertheless we can try to find a method to this madness so that maximum messages get delivered by using as less message replications as possible. In this paper we propose a new system which will facilitate in more messages being delivered by trying to utilize the behavioral patterns of the nodes present in the network in an unbiased manner.

Analysis on influential factors of integrated innovation of industry-university-institute cooperation from relationship perspective 关系视角下产学研合作集成创新影响因素分析

Due to the development of integrated innovation theory and the problems in the process of industry-university-institute cooperation (IUIC), the growing number of scholars began to pay attention to the application of integrated innovation in IUIC. Therefore, based on interactive relationship of integrated innovation and IUIC, this paper identifies influential factors of integrated innovation of IUIC from the view of relationship, analyses the of the interrelationship between the various factors by Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM), and finds out the critical influential factors in order to provide the scientific reference in operation and management of integrated innovation of IUIC.

Comparative analysis using multinomial logistic regression 运用多项逻辑回归进行比较分析

Financial sustainability can be ensured through adopting financial control measures. Therefore it is necessary to examine whether an ULB has exercised financial controls during a particular year. In our paper we have examined whether an ULB has been able to exercise our designed financial controls. We have categorised the ULBs in “Financial Control and Sustainability Group” on the basis of exercising two financial controls and finally a model has been developed using multinomial logistic regression. Results show that the model is good and well explained. The model equation has predicted 76.80% as correctly classified and we can say that our model can be used for prediction with much higher accuracy. Our study is completely based on financial parameters and therefore it is a unique one. We suggest that the allocation of performance grant should also consider the fact of exercising financial control and appropriate authority can consider our approach for allocation and release of grant based on the financial result of ULBs.

We have categorised the ULBs in “Financial Control and Sustainability Group” on the basis of exercising two financial controls and finally a model has been developed using multinomial logistic regression. Results show that the model is good and well explained. The model equation has predicted 76.80% as correctly classified and we can say that our model can be used for prediction with much higher accuracy. Our study is completely based on financial parameters and therefore it is a unique one. Triple bottom line strategy for sustainable steel industry 钢铁行业可持续发展的三重底线战略

The essence of sustainability lies in holding our world in trust for the future generations. The guiding concept is to view the world not as an inherited property from the forefathers rather as a borrowed property from the future generations. The `Triple Bottom Line' approach has emerged to be an essential tool to align the business strategy towards sustainability. This approach focuses on three `pillars' of sustainability: economic, environmental and social. The monitoring of the performance indicators in these three aspects helps in evaluating the efficacies of an industry's actions towards sustainability. The mammoth global steel industry is always confronted with several challenges in these three dimensions. The paper discusses the concepts of sustainability and triple bottom line approach and examines the performance of the global steel industry (represented by World Steel Association) in the respective indicators of three factors of sustainability.
