This paper presents a new 36-pulse star connected rectifier. It takes intimate sinusoidal currents from utility with the elimination of lower than 35th order harmonics. The proposed rectifier consists of a parallel four-star 12-pulse diode rectifier and two passive injection circuits at DC links. This passive injection circuit can triple the number of pulses of 12-pulse star rectifier system. The primary side of specially tapped interphase transformer (STIT) with two diodes constitutes the first injection circuit while the secondary winding of the STIT with a single phase full-wave rectifier (SPFR) constitutes the second passive injection circuit. This rectifier is compatible for large current rating application such as electroplating, plasma torches, dc arc furnaces etc. The simplicity of the proposed rectifier scheme makes it more economical compared to other existing designs of same performance. The proposed rectifier is examined and simulated in MATLAB environment. The simulation result confirms the requirement of IEEE-519 standards.

The objective of this work was to investigate the lift and drag characteristics of a NACA 0015 airfoil with a backward facing step. For a free stream velocity of 30m/s, the point of separation was determined via CFD analysis for an increasing angle of attack. A backward facing step was then introduced just prior to the point of separation which extended till the trailing edge. Computational studies were conducted with the goal of enhancing the aerodynamic performance of the airfoil by inserting several backward facing steps of gradually increasing depth. The CFD analysis was conducted for 30 m/s wind speed, with steps placed just prior to the point of separation for 18° angle of attack. The results produced show that as much as a 26% reduction in drag is possible by introducing the step. But at the same time, about 12% reduction in the lift was also observed. A wind tunnel test on a NACA 0015 was also conducted to verify the results from CFD analysis. Predominantly the goal of this thesis was to numerically determine whether or not the aerodynamic performance of an airfoil can be enhanced by introducing a backward facing step on the upper surface of the airfoil.

The rapid growing battery-powered and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles will have a significant impact on power networks due to their zero carbon emission and mass deployment. DC motors, AC induction motors, and Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are used worldwide in electric vehicles for years. Among them, BLDC motors are one of the electrical drives that are continually gaining popularity in motion control applications due to their high efficiency, good dynamic response and low maintenance. Unlike DC motors and Induction motors, BLDC motors need a controller as the motors run in 3 phase but take DC input. The controller converts DC power to 3 phase AC power suitable for the motor. This paper describes the design and development of a BLDC motor controller and its performance comparison with the existing BLDC motor controller imported from abroad. The controller circuit is simulated in Proteus software and the PCB is designed in ARES.

Millimeter-wave passive elements are one of the vital part to distribute power through integrated circuitry. And transformer coupled passive devices are used not only for signal transmitting but also making chip area smaller. A transformer coupled planar and stacked type both could be used for balun and power divider-combiner design. This type of balun provide small amplitude imbalance ~2dB and 180° phase imbalance between 57-120 GHz bandwidth (BW) and successively shrinking the layout area of 0.0061mm2. On the other hand, transformer coupled two way power divider-combiner (PD-C) occupies 0.0088 mm2 (7.5 Times Smaller than Wilkinson PD-C) with amplitude variation ~1.87dB and phase angle variation 3° with larger BW (50-120 GHz). Again four way PD-C occupies 0.0122mm2 (5 Times Smaller than Wilkinson PD-C) having amplitude variation ~2dB and phase angle variation 2.8° with a larger BW 50-120 GHz. Proposed stacked small transformers with a center trapped baluns and power divider-combiner have been implied on two millimetre-wave amplifiers on 55nm DDC CMOS.

Fertilizers (Triple superphosphate) and pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) are one of the major products used to increase the productivity of crops. As time passes the amount of pesticide in crops is not maintained fixed. Pesticide does react with water and the level of pesticide decreases day by day. Hence, it is important to know the present level of pesticide in soil and crops. TSP and pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) are used in this project as a sample of fertilizer and pesticide, cause of its high demand in Bangladesh. To detect the amount of TSP and pesticide in the oil sample, the conductivity property of TSP and pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) are used. Three separate solutions of TSP and pesticide (fungicide and insecticide) is made with water then AC source is applied to the solution instead of DC to avoid electrolysis of the given solution. Through the op-amp and two comparators, the final result is accomplished. Those two comparators, comparator 1 and comparator 2 were used to find the presence of 30%, 50%,70% TSP and Pesticide respectively. As result suggest, the resistance of the solution decreases with the incremental frequency. The compatible frequency for AC source is selected as 40 KHz. The reference voltage of comparator 1 is 1.4v and comparator 2 is 5v.

This paper presents a detailed mathematical model of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbine system. The controllers associated with this DFIG model are also derived in synchronously rotating reference frame considering Γ-Model of induction generator. A PSCAD/EMTDC simulation model has been implemented based on the proposed DFIG model. The effectiveness of this model is further verified through different case studies where the dynamic response of the implemented PSCAD model is compared with the theoretical model response. The simulation results show satisfactory performance of the proposed model and can be used for evaluation of transient stability of DFIG wind turbine system.

Human face recognition plays an important role in video surveillance, human-computer interface, personalizing different applications. In this paper, we present an approach to detect and identify a human face from the real-time video that tracks a face and compares it with stored data of known individuals. Our approach recognizes an individual within a fraction of a second which completely ignores any background effect. It also shows additional information about that individual. Besides, this method also works on different lighting conditions which make it suitable to execute its purpose in a wide variety of environment without encountering any significant error. We have implemented our work using a Raspberry Pi. And this approach utilizes the benefits offered by different python libraries like OpenCV and numPy. SQLite database management system is used as the backbone of its memory. Through its faster and authentic performance, this system is worthy enough to be integrated with any applications to boost up automation and user-friendliness.

Digital technology has accelerated social networking and brought revolutionary changes. Twitter Facebook and YouTube are the most familiar platforms for social communication, marketing and information distribution. Unhappily, these networks have been invaded by spammers who misuse these online social networking platforms with misinformation, fake news, rumors, malicious links, unsolicited messages, comments etc. Therefore, spam detection in social networks has become a novel framework for distribution of information, sentiments, and news. Our research expresses the experimental study on spam identification from text data. Extensive researches have been done on spam detection field from English texts or other languages. But detection of spam from malicious Bangla text content still needs a lot of attention. In this experimental research, we have used Multinomial Naïve Bayes (MNB) classifier, a supervised machine learning algorithm with feature extraction to detect spam from Bangla text at the sentence level. Our proposed system identifies spam based on the polarity of each sentence correlated with it. Finally, our experiment shows that the model has an accuracy of 82.44% in detecting spam Bangla text content.

Finally, our experiment shows that the model has an accuracy of 82.44% in detecting spam Bangla text content.","PeriodicalId":6613,"journal":{"name":"2019 1st International Conference on Advances in Science, Engineering and Robotics Technology (ICASERT)","volume":"1934 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91092623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
