This paper deals with design and performance scrutiny of automatic generation control (AGC) of a multi area interconnected power system. Here three thermal systems with equal ratings have been considered. Single input Fuzzy proportional integral-derivative (FPID) controller is used to study the transient response of the proposed system. In order to get realistic approach turbine time constant along with the governor dead band are used in all the three areas. The gains of FPID controller is optimized by using Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) technique & Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Step load perturbation (SLP) of 1 % is applied in area 1 to study the performance of the proposed controller. Finally it is observed that TLBO algorithm yields better dynamic performance.

Solar Photovoltaic systems are now widely being used for pumping purposes like drinking and irrigation. If the system has got a battery backup, there will be enough matching between the load and the source. But the systems without battery backup results poor co-ordination between load and source and the panel may even become unable to power the electric motor loads. Electric motors need high current during starting; hence there should be a current boosting mechanism that efficiently couples the PV panel with the DC motor. So, in this paper a linear current boosting technology to run the motor even under low solar irradiant conditions without stalling is being proposed. Linear Current Booster (LCB) is nothing but a converter topology along with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for the efficient working of a direct solar pump. Working of a solar PV fed direct current pump was being simulated with and without Linear Current Booster using MATLAB software. The efficiency of the solar pump was found increased more than 60% using this technology.

This paper deals with an active input power factor correction with single phase bridge rectifier fed boost converter topology using hysteresis current control technique. The duty ratio is obtained by the comparison of a inductor current and a ramp carrier waveform which is associated with hysteresis controller in each switching period. In this work MATLAB/Simulink power system toolbox is used to simulate the proposed system. Simulation results are presented and the improvement in the supply current is illustrated in this work. As the result, the input current waveform is fashioned to strictly sinusoidal and in-phase with supply voltage, entailing high power factor.

The electrical power system with its generation transmission and distribution has shown a multifold growth. The generation and distribution have undergone paramount changes but transmission has not, thus in the existing 400 kV and 765 kV transmission system there are constraints to transfer the growing electricity demand. This paper presents a novel aspect of using High Tension Low Sag (HTLS) conductor for existing 400 kV and design of 765 kV system to transfer the growing electricity demand. Further it makes a comparison of the two systems on the basis of efficient power transmission and compares traditionally used conductors with HTLS conductors on the basis of voltage drop and power loss for the benefit evaluation of HTLS conductors over traditionally used conductors.

The polarization angle diversity uses different angle regions of the polarization to transfer a signal that is multiplied by the special codes in these regions. These special codes have both local and global orthogonalities and are cyclic because the entire region is 360 degrees. The entire code and independent parts of this code both have very weak mutual correlation to their cyclic shift and each other to achieve the global and local orthogonalities. The orthogonal balanced code is proposed as a candidate for this special code. Both the local and global orthogonalities of the proposed code are numerically examined by comparing them with the two codes that are based on M-series. The numerical results indicate that the proposed code not only has both strong local and global orthogonalities but also shows the frequency spectrum whose occupied bandwidth and peak value are respectively very narrow and low. These characteristics ensure usefulness of the code for the polarization angle diversity.

So far the primary applications explored for memristors where in the field of memory arrays and neuromorphic networks. This paper explores the utilization of logic with memristors. Due to the fact that the field is in its early stages of research, various types of memristor models exist, and there is no wide consensus as to which one best describes the physical properties. In order for the research to relevant in any case, hybrid memristor model is considered. Logic family of memristor is considered. memristors as logic within memory, memristors as computation units. There is a growing emphasis on skin cancer diagnosis and Kaposi's sarcoma has recently received increasing attention. Kaposi's sarcoma is one form of skin cancer. The time and costs required for medical experts to screen all patients for Kaposi's sarcoma are prohibitively expensive. Dermatologists need an automatic diagnosis system to assess a patient's risk of Kaposi's sarcoma without using special or costly equipment. One challenge in implementing such a system is locating the skin lesion. We propose Texture Distinctiveness Lesion Segmentation Algorithm (TDS-KS) to automatically locate skin lesions from the photograph. TDS-KS algorithm consists of two main steps. First a set of representative texture distributions are learned from the input skin lesion image and texture distinctiveness metric is calculated for each distribution. Then a texture-based segmentation algorithm classifies regions the input image as normal skin or lesion based on the occurrence of representative texture distributions. The input images are taken from dermquest database which has images of different skin diseases.

Net metering mechanism provides usages of a bidirectional meter which has facility to record both import and export energy values. In net metering, prime focus is on utilizing self produced electricity by renewable energy sources and excess or surplus is sold to utilities or grid. It results into reduction of electricity bills. Solar photovoltaic system is used significantly in net metering. This study involves the feasibility examination of net metering implementation in commercial buildings of Reliance Energy consumers in Mumbai. Commercial consumers are targeting purposefully. The study also on analyzes the annual savings of electricity and economic feasibility in solar rooftop photovoltaic system. The study shows that lower payback period is achieved with solar rooftop photovoltaic system.

Deployment of Femtocell within Marco Cell will improve the network coverage area of not only outdoor users but also those inside building premises. Such deployment willbenefit the network operator as it resolves the deployment of additional base station. Only concern is to allocate the resource in interference limited scenarios in Femto-Marco. The works reported in literature use identical scheduling scheme for both Marco and Femto base stations. In this paper, heterogeneous scheduling schemes are carried out at these stations, which enhanced the performance of the system without any overheads. The proposed scheme is compared with the existing scheduling algorithm in terms of throughput, spectral efficiency and delay. Algorithm is 38.63 %better compared to literature value in term of spectral efficiency.

This paper proposes a self regulating airbag framework for submerged swimmers. The radical role of the proposed aversion framework is that it succor in clearing swimmer who is still or invested strangely a prolonged period of time submerged. The framework comprises an airbag and fitted out with mems accelerometer and pressure sensor. In this proposed aversion system an ON gadget alert is activated and a sign is sent to the motor joined with the flattening arrangement of the airbag to trigger it and clear the swimmer in two circumstances: On the off chance that pressure sensor which sense the pressure on the swimmer increments quickly or if the pressure level increments over the typical pressure on the body submerged, If the period of time while away by the swimmer surpasses a predefined greatest edge or the measured accelerometer data demonstrates that he has been unmoving for a prolonged period of time submerged. A manual switch is likewise actualized for the wellbeing of the swimmer which is in immediate contact with the airbag to open it when needed.
