Deep Pre-trained Models for Computer Vision Applications: Traffic sign recognition 计算机视觉应用的深度预训练模型:交通标志识别

Objects detection and Recognition are an important task for computer vision field and intelligent transportation systems. Generally, these tasks remain challenging for the artificial machines due to the need of pre-learning phase in which the machine acquires an intelligent brain. Some researchers have shown that deep learning tools work well in computer vision, image processing, and pattern recognition. To solve such tasks, this paper focuses on deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and its architectures, such as, VGG16, VGG19, AlexNet, and Resnet50. An overview for the techniques and schemes used for computer vision applications such as Road Sign Recognition will be introduced. Then by customizing the hyperparameters for each pre-trained models, we re-implement these models for the traffic sign recognition application. In the experiments, these pre-trained CNN classifiers are trained and tested with the German Traffic Sign Recognition Benchmark dataset (GTSRB). Experimental results show that the proposed scheme achieved a good performance results in terms of evaluations metrics of traffic signs recognition. A performance comparison analysis between the selected pre-trained models for traffic sign recognition confirmed that the AlexNet model outperforms all other implemented models.

Flexible Control Strategies with Current Limitation of VSI Under Unbalanced Grid Voltage Sags 电网不平衡电压跌落下具有电流限制的VSI柔性控制策略

The power injection from a distributed power generation system (DPGS) into the grid is commonly performed through a voltage-source inverter (VSI). However, under unbalanced grid faults, the VSI may disconnect from the grid, which leads to stability problems due to the lack of active power after the fault extinction. To enhance the inverter's fault ride through (FRT) capability i.e., it remains connected to the grid as requested by the grid codes, two flexible control strategies have been developed in the last years. They are named flexible oscillating-power control (FOPC) and voltage-support-oriented control (VSOC). This paper proposes generalized expressions of active and reactive powers' references under faulty conditions to satisfy the grid codes' requirements and limit the current injected by the inverter to the rated value. Numerical simulations are performed to evaluate the performances of the two flexible control strategies along with the proposed current limitation method.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Controller for Pumping Photovoltaic System Based on Induction Motor 基于感应电机的抽水光伏系统最大功率点跟踪控制器

In this paper, a photovoltaic (PV) water pumping system (PWPS) based on three phase induction motor (IM) is proposed. A proposed algorithm based on fuzzy logic control (FLC) is introduced to improve the conventional fixed step size perturb and observe (P&O). This algorithm is used to extract the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) from the panel. To control the IM, coupled with a centrifugal pump, conventional direct torque control (DTC) is introduced. The main objective of this work is to propose a low-cost (PWPS) without the use of chemical energy storage. A complete simulation model is developed using MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation results of the MPPT based on FLC are compared with those of P&O. The comparison results show the excellent performance of the proposed control scheme in terms of stator current harmonics, reducing the flux ripple and increasing the water flow.

A Novel Inverse Gaussian Profile for Orbital Angular Momentum Mode Division Multiplexing Optical Networks 一种新的轨道角动量模分复用光网络反高斯分布

Orbital angular momentum modes have shown promising achievements, as data carriers, in ameliorating the transmission capacity and raising the spectral efficiency. This has leaded to an increasing interest in exploiting appropriate specialty fibers for supporting robust OAM channels. In this work, we propose a novel inner graded ring core fiber referred to as inverse Gaussian fiber (IGF). To the best of our knowledge, IGF has never been used as optical fiber profile before. We optimize IGF key parameters in order to design optimized IG-few mode fibers (FMF) supporting low radial modes with high intermodal separation that outperforms those reported in literature (minimum of $Delta n_{text{eff}}=2.74times 10^{-4}$), this limits mode coupling and reduces channels crosstalk. We investigate the impacts of smoothness parameters ($alpha$ & $P$) on the properties of OAM channels in the IG-FMFs. We evaluate and compare (with literature) their intermodal separation, their chromatic dispersion, and their associated differential group delay over the C+L ITU-T bands. The selected designs are proposed as favorable candidate to guide OAM modes in next generation OAM-MDM multiplexing optical networks.

In this paper, a traction mode of an electric vehicle based on a delta inverter feeding a split stator windings permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) is proposed. The use of reduced inverter topologies such as the delta inverter allows the cost-effectiveness and the compactness of the electric propulsion systems. The PMSM with split stator windings is adopted in the integrated battery charger of hybrid electric vehicles as a motor with reconfigured stator windings for all different modes: traction/charge operation. This paper develops the traction mode operation of these motor/inverter association under a vector control strategy. Simulation results of the proposed association under the dedicated strategy are registered.

Numerical validation of experimental results for the dynamic behavior of sandwich structures 夹层结构动力特性试验结果的数值验证

In this paper, numerical and experimental studies are elaborated in order to study the dynamic behavior and frequency responses of structures at micro scale. The aim of the present paper is to investigate the effect of the thickness on frequency responses and mode shapes and to validate experimental results obtained by the laser vibrometer measurement with numerical simulation. Different sandwich structures, such as cantilever beam and membrane are elaborated for different thickness. The obtained results show an agreement between numerical simulations and experimental ones but there is a small margin of error which is explained by various parameters that we will mention in the discussion section.

Chaos Elimination in Power System Using Synergetic Control Theory 基于协同控制理论的电力系统混沌消除

This paper puts forward the power system stability under investigation. Power system stability is critical for reliable and safe operation of the network and the protection of the power system elements. Maintaining the voltage level within normal range and the robustness against the disturbances that may lead to chaotic oscillation which finally may cause system bus voltage collapse and angle divergence. The observation of bifurcation and chaotic oscillations are analyzed for a wide range of parameters variations with the help of Lyapunov exponent, Lyapunov spectrum, and bifurcation diagram. Based on the aforementioned analysis, a robust synergetic controller design is achieved based on static synchronous compensator STATCOM and energy storage facilities to maintain the load bus voltage at the rated level and restore the synchronous operation. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed control scheme.

PGTLP: A Dataset for Tunisian License Plate Detection and Recognition PGTLP:突尼斯车牌检测与识别数据集

The whole point throughout this work is a publicly available and annotated images dataset for vehicle license plate (LP) detection and recognition. This contribution is driving by the fact that no Tunisian LP dataset has been provided up to this point in time. Pearl Guard Tunisian LP (PGTLP) dataset is fully annotated database that contains presently up to 3, 000 images captured by high definition quality camera mounted on a security mobile robot, called Pearl Guard and made accessible to the Academia. For benchmarking and ranking supply, we propose a unified, real-time (LP) detection module based on YOLOv4-tiny detector. We also provide baseline results for vehicle LP detection using the PGTLP dataset.

Inverse Kinematics of a Team of 5-DOF Holonomic Mobile Cooperative Rover Manipulators 一组五自由度完整移动协作漫游机器人的运动学逆解

Omni-rovers are three wheeled rovers with roller bearings circumventing the outer perimeter of each wheel, thus allowing a three degrees of freedom, holonomic rover. Translation within two axes and rotation about the normal increases the immediate capability of said rovers and allows fluid maneuvers when presented with problematic trajectories. With the mentioned capability, omni-rovers are an ideal candidate for use in mobile manipulators (MM), and furthermore, cooperative robotics. Thus, in this article, the forward kinematics of an omni-rover platform in junction with a two degree of freedom (RR) arm is presented. Additionally, the inverse kinematics of two parallel robots carrying a rigid object are modeled, simulated, and examined. As the inverse kinematics becomes increasingly difficult to model as the degrees of freedom increase, a known method for reducing the model is used to simplify the solution; this being the use of the Groebner Bases.

DRNNA: Decomposable Reverse Nearest Neighbor Algorithm for Vertically Distributed Databases 垂直分布数据库的可分解反向最近邻算法

There are many applications for the Reverse Nearest Neighbor (RNN) problem, including continuous referral systems, resource allocation, decision support, location-based services, bioinformatics, profile-based marketing, and many others. Although there exist numerous studies on RNN problem, most of the existing algorithms for RNN works on a single database. In contrast to the existing approaches, we propose a Decomposable Reverse Nearest Neighbor Algorithm (DRNNA), which computes RNN in a high dimensional space across distributed databases. DRNNA helps in minimizing the amount of data transferred between sites and hence provides data privacy and security for each site. Our approach aims to achieve valid results through minimum information disclosure. The data privacy at individual sites are preserved as our approach requires only minimal transmission of information between sites. Only a minimal count of higher-level summaries is exchanged for performing computations and therefore an intruder cannot obtain the actual data tuples even if they try to capture the exchanged summaries. The simulation results prove that the algorithm can correctly find the RNN set for a given point.
