Objective: To identify the frequency of recurrence of violence against women in different life cycles and to verify associated factors. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study carried out with data on report of violence against women in the state of Espírito Santo from 2011 to 2018. Data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System were used, through the Interpersonal and Self-Inflicted Violence Reporting/Investigation Form. Statistical analyzes were performed using Poisson regression and the chi-square test. Results: The frequency of recurrence of violence in females was 58.9% (95%CI 58.2-59.5). Repeated violence was 1.26 times more prevalent among elderly women and 32% more frequent among those with disabilities, and reports in urban areas were 8% higher. As for the aggressor, males prevailed (Prevalence Ratio of 1.37; 95%CI 1.28-1.46), and the most frequent age group was over 25 years (Prevalence Ratio of 1.07; 95%CI 1 03-1.11). Recurrent violence was 3.28 times more committed by acquaintances and by a single perpetrator (Prevalence Ratio of 1.24). Reports of recurrent violence were 55% more prevalent in the household.

Objectives: To identify predictive factors for elder mistreatment (EM) related to older adults and their primary caregivers and the relationship between healthcare professional training and identification of EM. Methods: This was a quantitative and analytic study. Potential risk factors for EM related to 40 older adults and their caregivers were collected through observation by 12 healthcare professionals and in a visiting nurses association. Training of healthcare professionals on EM identification was investigated. Descriptive statistics, Fisher’s exact test, and multilevel regression analysis were used to investigate the relationships between the occurrence of EM and older adults and caregiver-related risk factors, and the predictive factors for EM. Results: The older adults’ dependency on caregivers and primary caregivers’ chronic health conditions predicted EM. The risk factors the primary caregivers posed tended to affect EM more than the dependency Descritores

Objective: To map the interventions that can be performed by nurses in the various health care services for the management of anxiety symptoms in adults during COVID-19. Methods: The scoping review was conducted according to the JBI manual. The review question was: What is the knowledge available in the literature on interventions to manage anxiety symptoms that can be used by nurses in the various health care services, in the adult population, during COVID-19? The data sources searched were: Virtual Health Library (VHL), EMBASE, PubMed, CINAHL, PsycINFo, Scopus and Web of Science. There was no limitation of year or language of publication. Results: Were analyzed 85 articles. Studies have shown that, in general, the entire adult population has experienced changes in anxiety levels during the pandemic. Among the identified interventions, which can be carried out by nurses to manage anxiety symptoms, there was singular emphasis on the various forms of online interventions, with a frequency of 21.4% in the studies, followed by physical activities, with a frequency of 13.3%

. Abstract Objective: To identify, among the Waterlow, Cubbin & Jackson and EVARUCI risk prediction instruments for pressure injuries (PI), the most specific and sensitive for patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU)). Methods: This is an observational, analytical and prospective study, carried out in two ICUs in São Paulo, Brazil, from August to November 2019. Participants were 91 adult patients who did not have PI at the time of admission to the ICU and who had been hospitalized in the ICU for more than 24 hours. Data were collected from medical records and through clinical assessment. The association between clinical and personal variables and PI occurrence was performed using Student’s t test and chi-square test, and the instruments’ sensitivity and specificity were assessed using the ROC curve. Results: There was a predominance of males (54.9%), mean age of 66.2 ± 20.8 years and hospitalization for clinical reasons (64.9%). Vasoactive drug use, mechanical ventilation, mechanical restraint, sedation, devices, severity and origin were associated with PI development.
