Epidemiological features of extrapulmonary tuberculosis detected among the military personnel serving in the armed forces of the republic of Azerbaijan 在阿塞拜疆共和国武装部队服役的军事人员中发现的肺外结核的流行病学特征

Background: The study is dedicated to the analysis of the epidemiological features of early detected extrapulmonary tuberculosis among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan served between 2009 and 2018. Methods: Retrospective cohort study of extrapulmonary tuberculosis patients (military personnel) admitted to the Armed Forces Pulmonary Diseases Hospital (AFPHD). An analysis has been conducted based on the medical records of the servicemen discharged from the Army due to extrapulmonary tuberculosis, the features of the epidemic process have been studied and the results have been assessed. Results: The incidence of disease by age group, duration of service and seasonal frequency have been examined on the basis of the medical records of 18 to 49 year old military personnel diagnosed with extrapulmonary tuberculosis in the Armed Forces Pulmonary Diseases Hospital(AFPHD). The conscripts were grouped into three age bands (18-21, 22-29, 30-49), the duration of service was divided into three groups, with the first 0-3 months, 3-6 months and more than 6 months of military service. Conclusion: This is the first study of extrapulmonary tuberculosis in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and showed increasing trends in noti10 S. B. Ahmedov and E. S. Jafarov fied extrapulmonary tuberculosis cases over the last years. Extrapulmonary tuberculosis have been observed among the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan in all years involved in the study. The incidence of extrapulmonary tuberculosis was high in the 18-21 age group and after 6 months of military service.

Activities of NAD-malate dehydrogenase (NAD-MDH, EC 1.1.1.37), oxaloacetate decarboxylase (OAD, EC 4.1.1.3), pyruvate kinase (PK, EC 2.7.1.40), catalase (CAT, EC 1.11.1.6) involved in the metabolism of dicarbon acids such as malate and oxaloacetate (OA) in leaves of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) plants exposed to salt stress and activity of H+ pumps related to the mineral nutrition in the root cell system have been studied comparatively. It has been established that these enzymes acting in concert play an important role in maintaining the constant energy balance and creating stress tolerance of the organism by the regulation of the metabolic processes at various concentrations of NaCl.

Study of the effect of some physical and chemical factors on the biological properties and chemıcal composition of viper venom 一些理化因素对蛇毒生物学特性及chemıcal成分影响的研究

In this article, the microelement composition of the venom of Macrovipera lebetina obtusa viper inhabiting different ecosystems of Azerbaijan, the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the spectral properties and molecular structure of viper venom, as well as the absorption spectra of standard zootoxins exposed to  radiation at 1.35, 2.7, 4.05 və 5.4 кGy doses and protein content of snake venom were studied. It was found that the chemical composition and toxic properties of viper venom depend to some extent on the characteristics of the ecosystem and the physicochemical factors of the environment. The obtained results can be used in radiation sterilization of snake venom and preparations based on it, and in the preparation of drugs in the pharmaceutical industry.

Molecular analysis of genetic diversity of Machilus odoratissima nees species collected from central and highland areas of Vietnam 越南中部和高原地区臭臭松木种属遗传多样性的分子分析

In this study, we analyzed the genetic diversity of 50 Machilus odoratissima Nees sample species collected from the central and highland areas of Vietnam by using 13 SSR markers. The results showed that that 54 different alleles (approximately 4.15 alleles/locus), in which 42 alleles were polymorphism (80.77%), 10 alleles were monomorphism (19.23%). The PIC value was varied from 0.63 to 0.84 (average value: 0.70), respectively. The rate of homogenates among the samples were ranged from 0.63 to 0.98 (average value 0.81). The 50 samples were divided into 5 different groups based on the genetic relationships: group I (10 samples) included the samples were collected in Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Gia Lai provinces; group II (5 samples) collected in Quang Nam and Quang Tri provinces; group III (05 samples) were collected in Thua Thien Hue and Kon Tum provinces; and the group IV (20 samples) were collected in Quang Tri, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces (the largest group (40%); the group V (10 samples) collected in Thua Thien Hue, Kon Tum and Gia Lai provinces. The results demonstrated that the rate of homogeneity was quite high in M. odoratissima Nees species collected in the areas of central and highland of Vietnam. This study may provide good information for further identification of high-quality genetic germ48 Dang Thi Thanh Ha et al. plasm of the medical plant resource for development and conservation in this country.

Innovative process methodologies for the agro-food sector: reorganization of technical processes to acquire new skills 农业食品部门的创新过程方法:重组技术过程以获得新技能

The research was based on the feasibility study for the development of new services for customers in order to increase the same, increase competitiveness compared to other firms in the sector, increase the quality of internal processes and services offered to the community. The present research aimed to identify the main internal criticalities and evaluate the possibility of correction, also considering the technical and economic aspects and the constraints of the firm layout. The research included a phase of cost analysis and benefit estimation, considering different possible scenarios. In the evaluation of the hypothetical investment, not only the purely economic aspects were taken into consideration, but also the qualitative ones. Results showed a potential excellent return on investment in the new business process, if it is accompanied by a progressive growth in indirect turnover due to new consulting activities induced by the reorganization of the laboratory. The study also shows that, in the event of the development of a turnover induced by the new multi-residual analysis activity, the investment has the potential to achieve more than satisfactory returns. To achieve these results, it was necessary to reorganize and optimize internal processes, based on a study of the internal production layout and how this affects current production both in terms of integration and for the acquisition of new highly qualified skills not present to date.

Stress response of an organism is important for its survival. In responses to abiotic stresses such as heat, oxidative stress and nutrient limitations yeast cells activates trehalose biosynthesis and accumulates trehalose as stress protectant agent. Glycogen is also accumulated within the yeast cells as reserve carbohydrates. Trehalose and glycogen metabolism are well characterized in S. cerevisiae, but there is a limited information on these carbohydrates in candida species. In this study, we have analyzed the stress-dependent accumulation patterns of trehalose and glycogen in C. albicans as a pathogenic yeast and C. rugosa as an industrial yeast. Our results indicate that there are clear differences in storage carbohydrate metabolism between these two yeasts species. Basal levels of glycogen in C. rugosa 62 Hülya Karaca Gençer et al. is higher than the C. albicans glycogen content when these yeasts grown in normal conditions. However, when these yeasts subjected to stress inducing conditions, both trehalose and glycogen biosynthesis activated and rapidly accumulated within these yeast cells. Nonetheless, stress dependent activation of trehalose and glycogen biosynthesis in C. rugosa is much higher than the C. albicans. In addition, exposure of these yeast species to different abiotic stresses also resulted in activation of TPS1 and GSY1 gene transcription. The differences in trehalose biosynthesis and TPS1 transcript levels indicates that reserve carbohydrate metabolism is differentially regulated in C albicans and C. rugosa.

The impact of TP53 Arg72Pro and R249S genetic variations on IVF-ET outcome TP53 Arg72Pro和R249S基因变异对IVF-ET结果的影响

In-vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) can be mentioned as one of the most important methods that various environmental and genetic factors are involved in its success or failure. Present research aims at studying the importance of Pro72Arg and Arg249Ser of TP53 gene in success of IVF-ET. One hundred and fifty infertile women with unsuccessful IVF-ET history and 210 women with successful IVF-ET history were studied using polymerase chain reaction– restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR–RFLP) and amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS-PCR). The P53 codon 249 Ser allele was found to be over-represented in patients (p=0.0001; Odds Ratio=3.407; 95% CI; 1.81-6.38). In this study, the distribution of the genotype at codon 72 in the unsuccessful IVF women was not different from the controls (p=0.5). In conclusion, despite the P53 codon 249 Ser allele appearing to be associated with a trend of increased risk of IVF failure, P53 Pro72Arg gene polymorphism might not be a useful marker for prediction of IVF-ET outcome. However, in order to confirm the results, the studies are recommended to be conducted in larger populations.

Non-uniform channels mixing and template matching based denoising of retinal images for optic disk detection 基于非均匀信道混合和模板匹配的视盘检测视网膜图像去噪

Optic Disc (OD) recognition is a fundamental phase in the developing methods for automated analysis of different chronic ocular disorders. In this article, a novel 46 Khan Bahadar Khan et al. technique has been introduced for OD detection and borderline extraction, which can be witnessed as a milestone in the advancement of a Computer-Assisted Diagnostic (CAD) framework for glaucoma detection in fundus photographs. A unique solution has been presented for removal of illuminated light spots due to refraction of camera light (so called fringe noise) on the edges of the retinal color images, which leads to false detection of OD. An intelligent non-uniform mixing of red and green channels is introduced for denoising of retinal photographs because of the dissimilar noise level in each channel. Template based matching technique is applied for OD localization of retinal image. The approach is thoroughly verified on openly accessible the DRIVE and the STARE datasets for OD detection and denoising of retinal images. This denoising technique greatly improved the accuracy of OD detection in contrast to other contending approaches.
