Gastroporn on social media and its association with food choices and body mass index among youth 社交媒体上的胃色情片及其与青少年食物选择和体重指数的关系

The evident upsurge in food related social media accounts has led to a hedonistic indulgence in foods. The trend is however upsetting the food choices made by the youth due to this enormous social media influence. In view of the limited studies exploring the food based social media usage and its relation with food choices and body mass index among the youth at India, the present study observed such food based social media account usage and its relation with food choices, and Body mass index (BMI) among the youth. This cross sectional study was conducted among 18-24 years old youth (n=114) by administering a social media usage questionnaire, food frequency questionnaire along with assessment of anthropometric data of height(cm),weight (kgs) BMI .The data was statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi square test of association. It was observed that 78.9% of young adults engaged in food related social media surfing for an average of 2.8±0.3 hours per day .71.1% of the youth craved bakery-confectionary items and alcohol after visiting an image-based food account on social media. Self-organization of quantum entropy in evolutionary studies in mammalian brain networks 哺乳动物脑网络进化研究中量子熵的自组织

Characterization of complex brain connectomic datasets and feature extraction thereof is progressively being attempted over the last decade. Intra-class evolutionary layout of such networks is regarded as one of the upcoming research domains of high importance. However, appropriate evolutionary profile generation requires thorough exploration of classical as well as non-classical graph theoretic properties. In this study, scaling parameter associated to graph community-wise distribution of quantum von Neumann entropy was found to be unambiguously correlated (𝑅 2 ≈ 0.99) to two phylogenetic markers (long non-coding genes and gene transcripts). Segmental connectivity datasets of different brain regions pertaining to six mammalian species were considered for this purpose. Furthermore, two classical network properties (clustering coefficient and closeness centrality) were demonstrated to fail in generating such an intra-mammalian evolutionary profile. Outcomes of this investigation justifies the efficacy of complex graph theoretic property in development of quantitative brain connectivity locus according to evolutionary selection.

Susceptibility of optimization of medium components for the production of antimicrobial secondary metabolites by streptomyces globosus isolated from KAU 球链霉菌产抗菌次级代谢物培养基组分的敏感性优化

The genus Streptomyces represents a group of microorganisms that are widely distributed in nature as the greatest source of the commercially available antibiotics. Objective: In this study, a wide group of actinomycetes strains were isolated from KAU. Further, analysis and evaluate their antibacterial potential against a panel of bacterial pathogens. Methods: In the present study, 12 soil samples were collected from different localities of Al-Baha, Saudi Arabia. Actinomycetes were isolated from these samples using serial dilution and plating method on actinomycetes isolation agar. The antimicrobial activity of actinomycetes was tested against different bacteria. The effect of different media, carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus sources, on the growth and antibacterial effect against E. coli ATCC35218, E. coli ATCC25922, Salmonella sp., P. aeruginosa ATCC27853, S. aureus ATCCBAA977, and St. pneumonia ATCC49619 were optimized. The results showed that starch-nitrate agar was the best media for the antibacterial activity for S. globosus. The maximum antimicrobial efficacy was produced when S. globosus utilized the starch as a carbon donner. Furthermore, the highest antibacterial activity of S. globosus was created when inorganic nitrogen sources were added, and the best nitrogen source that supported antibacterial production was ammonium sulfate. Allelopathic potential of Allamanda cathartica L. under different screening conditions 不同筛选条件下大黄草的化感作用潜力

Allamanda cathartica is an ornamental plant and is widely distributed in many areas of the world. This study aims to determine the allelopathic effects of this plant (leaf and stem dried powders) under bioassays and greenhouse conditions against the growth of Echinochloa crus-galli and some indicator plants. At the applied dose (50g/L) of the leaf powders, the root length of E. crus-galli and Bidens pilosa was significantly reduced by over 90%. Interestingly, rice growth was negligibly inhibited and the elongation of shoot and root was stimulated. In a greenhouse trial, the average inhibition of E. crus-galli growth was reduced by 54.9% at a dose of 50g/m 2 of the leaf powders. Moreover, the biomass of natural paddy weeds was significantly reduced by 46.4%. However, rice growth parameter was increased by about 20% at a dose of 12.5g/m 2 . The allelopathic property of the leaf powders showed higher than its stems. Consequently, our results indicated that A. cathartica possesses a strong allelopathic property and may be served this plant as a natural herbicide source to control paddy weeds and increase rice growth for sustainable agricultural production.

Twenty-nine pentapeptides are common to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike glycoprotein (gp) and the cardiac human protein Titin, alterations of which are linked to cardiac failure and sudden death. The peptide commonality does not reflect mere peptide sharing, rather it has relevant immunological potential as nearly all of the shared sequences are present in experimentally validated SARS-CoV-2 spike gp-derived epitopes, thus supporting the possibility that anti-Titin autoimmune cross-reactions can be triggered by the virus. Moreover, contextual peptide commonality among SARS-CoV-2, human Titin, and microbial organisms to which individuals have previously been exposed, highlights the likelihood of anamnestic and extremely powerful anti-Titin immune responses that may derive from earlier immunologic imprinting. The present data may help understand, explain, and diagnose the relationship between sudden death and infections.

Genetic diversity and genetic relationship of Vietnamese Citrus varieties using internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) 利用ITS对越南柑橘品种遗传多样性及亲缘关系的研究

Vietnam is considered to be the center of origin of many Citrus species. Regional structures of territory, climatic and soil conditions are suitable and favorable for Citrus production as well as rich in germplasm resources. In this study, 15 Citrus samples were collected in different areas and identified by ITS sequencing. The results showed that the nucleotide sequences and the coverage of the samples were ranged from 95.60%to 99.86% and were 97.0% to 99.0%, respectively, as compared with the published reference samples. Specifically, the C9 sample (Cam Duong Ha Tinh) had a similar level with the reference samples of JN681155.1 Citrus maxima (99.72%), which was higher than the homologous sample of JN681165.1 Citrus sinensis by 98.46%. The C10 sample (Cam Sanh Bo Ha) was similar to the reference sample MH721728.1 Citrus reticulata (99.72%), higher than the reference JN681150.1 Citrus sinensis up to 99.45%. Based on the ITS genome sequences, 6/15 Citrus samples were accurately identified. The results also indicate that Vietnamese native Citrus varieties are diversified in the genus Citrus species. Our findings have provided useful information for the accurate identification of some native Citrus germplasms in this country.

The results showed that the nucleotide sequences and the coverage of the samples were ranged from 95.60%to 99.86% and were 97.0% to 99.0%, respectively, as compared with the published reference samples.
