Stress and adaptation are challenging for HIV/AIDS persons and their families. What and how does the family and HIV/AIDS person get stress and adaptation? Thus, the descriptive research aimed at exploring stress and adaptation among families with HIV/ AIDS persons in Phuket province, Thailand. The samle was calculated and systematic sampling that consisted of 80 persons (40 HIV/AIDS persons/40 family members). The study tools were developed based on the family resiliency theory which comprised of questionnaires and interview guidelines. The quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive statistics. Content analysis was done for the interviewed data. The result showed that most HIV/AIDS persons and families had stress at the medium level (52.5%, 65%) respectively. Personal adaptation was at a high level (x ̄ = 3.87, SD=0.43), and family adaptation was at a high level (x ̄ =4.17, SD=0.67). The interviewed data displayed the HIV/AIDS persons’ stressors were “being gossiped about.” For families, the stressor was “seeing a person get sick frequently.” The family’s vulnerability was poor economic status. They were confused and sad. Their resources comprised only family members and health personnel. They performed healthcare functioning and sought more resources for caring the ill persons. In conclusion, the findings displayed that both families and HIV/AIDS persons were stress. Their stressors were being gossiped about personal illnesses. Most of them were supported by their own families and health personnel. Therefore, the findings should be used to create effective interventions for enhancing personal and family adaptation, especially, increasing resources and supportive system.

This paper explores the process involved in the development, in 2021, of a new role of visiting professor to Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI), in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) University of Medicine and Health Sciences. The role was developed following the Covid 19 pandemic and will support the NHI National Nursing Committee in identifying their needs and that of the society it serves by providing leadership, research and education programmes that are aligned to the university and the NHI members’ values. An evidence review was undertaken to identify studies relating to older person care and the impact of Covid 19 on nursing home residents during and following the Covid-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional on-line survey was undertaken in 2022, to capture educational needs and perceptions about work environment with a sample of 65 NHI staff representing all grades. This was followed by two

Background: With its complex etiology and presenting symptoms, schizophrenia continues to challenge clinicians and researchers alike in finding the most effective approach to alleviating symptoms and enhancing the quality of life of those affected by it. Here we explore the impact Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for psychosis (CBTp) has on the quality of life of individuals with schizophrenia, as reported in recent randomized controlled trials. Methods: We systematically searched four databases: Web of Science, PubMed, Embase and Google Scholar. The Boolean operator “AND” was used between each keyword

The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training program using medium and low fidelity simulators in primary school students for the acquisition of learning skills. Quasi-experimental pre-post study, carried out at public Elementary school in Perú. Results: nine-two students from third-to-sixth grades included, participated in this study. Assessments of knowledge, attitudes and skills were carried out immediately after the training and at 30 days. 81% passed the knowledge test immediately after training and 87% after 30 days. With the three simulators and in both measurements, the majority passed the practical skills test, with the obtained result being better in the second measurement. After the training, 96.74% felt capable of facing CPR and all at 30 days post-training. Finally, the developed training program was shown to be effective regardless of the used simulator. Conclusions: Training in CPR must begin at an early age, with age-appropriate methodologies and materials, economic possibilities and accessibility to training spaces, with periodic recycling. A CPR training program aimed at boys and girls is shown to be effective in terms of the knowledge acquisition skills, and perception of positive attitudes towards its performance using medium and low fidelity simulators.

The scientific community internationally was compelled to find answers and therapies to control SARSCoV-2. In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) [1] affirmed a Public Health Emergency (PHE) of international concern, the highest level of alarm under international law (2020). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warned that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), seemingly transmitted most by person-to-person contact (CDC, 2020) [2] so nationwide public health orders were exhorted. Amid an infectious pandemic, vaccines are a public health strategy implemented to prevent the spread of disease. The CDC continues to collaborate partnerships to fight new variants and lineages, maintaining global efforts to combat the largest viral genomic sequencing effort thus far. Nevertheless, the PHE for COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, expired May 11, 2023. As we continue our fight with new variants of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, it is suggested that we learn from the past three years to understand and reference previous experiences, successes, and failures, to make better decisions in the present into the future. Not only is there an opportunity to strengthen the leadership-followership relationship by building trust through transparency, but now is the time to reimagine healthcare to create true interoperable visibility and consider how the first lines of defense can be better protected to serve others. This article reviews the timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccine mandate, the effects on the first lines of defense, and the toxic triangle that created an onset of confusion, controversy, and fear throughout the country..

: Liver transplantation is an effective method for treating end-stage liver disease, and repeated or repeated liver transplantation is an effective method for treating transplanted liver failure caused by various reasons. Repeated or repeated liver transplantation not only poses great surgical difficulties, but also poses significant challenges in postoperative care. Good postoperative care can significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative complications in patients and improve human/liver survival rate. This article summarizes the nursing experience of a patient with liver failure after liver transplantation undergoing a third complex liver transplantation. The key points of nursing include: closely monitoring changes in the condition; First aid and care for bleeding; Prevention of infection and anti rejection treatment; Postoperative nursing care to prevent portal vein thrombosis; Nursing care for postoperative ballistic complications; Strengthen nutritional support. Multi angle and comprehensive nursing to ensure postoperative rehabilitation of patients. After reasonable treatment and care, the patient in this case successfully recovered and was discharged on the 18th day after surgery. This article analyzes the nursing process of this special case and summarizes the nursing experience after the third complex liver transplantation, providing corresponding reference for clinical nursing work of multiple liver transplants.
