Clinicians carry a significant obligation to young patients with single missing teeth to ensure that they are prepared for a lifetime of healthy dental function and long-term aesthetic success. Adolescents and young adults in need of implant treatment embody a large and growing patient population that requires distinctly different treatment approaches than those that apply to older patient groups. The primary causes of single missing teeth in young patients are trauma and congenital absence, whereas older populations typically lose teeth due to failure of traditional dental procedures. This article provides an effective approach to meet the challenges that young patients present.

While the need to maintain a dry operative field has traditionally caused complications during various soft tissue surgical procedures, the use of bipolar electrosurgical techniques can eliminate this need, thus increasing the clinician's ability to deliver predictable, long-term results. This case presentation describes how to determine the presence of passive eruption, treatment plan its correction, and surgically alter the gingiva to provide a more aesthetic smile. ncisal edge. * Be aware of how to surgically correct using bipolar electrosurgery.

Contemporary advancements in implant therapy have resulted in the increased application of predictable rehabilitation methods. While the advent of immediate implantation procedures have revolutionized the method by which implants are delivered in patients with healthy osseous structures, care must be taken to ensure that proper evaluation of the patient's bone structure is performed preoperatively to ensure selection of an appropriate method. This article describes the techniques and clinical protocols that have recently evolved to improve daily clinical practice. Improved understanding of these protocols may ensure increased bio-safety and predictability during implant placement, and may improve clinical decision-making and long-term implant success.

Aesthetic and functional restoration of the severely worn dentition represents a significant clinical challenge. One of the most demanding aspects of such cases involves the development of sufficient restorative space, while simultaneously fulfilling aesthetic, occlusal, and functional parameters essential to long-term success. When evaluating and diagnosing a patient with severely worn dentition, emphasis must be placed on the occlusal prematurities preventing condylar seating into the centric relation position. Success in maintaining severe wear cases depends on the development of proper anterior guidance to allow for posterior disclusion within the patient's envelope of function.
