In this contribution we present opportunities to address questions about the origin of mass and spin, probe the existence and nature of the LHCb pentaquark state, and probe the color Van der Waal forces among two color neutral hadrons. The key reaction is elastic production of heavy quarkonia (J/psi and Upsilon) on the nucleon from threshold to large nucleon-quarkonium invariant masses. This is possible when combining the energy range of two high luminosity facilities, Jefferson Lab 12 GeV and an electron ion collider (EIC).

Belle II is a major upgrade of the Belle experiment and will operate at the $B$-factory SuperKEKB in Japan. Here we discuss the expected sensitivity of Belle II for $D^0 - bar{D}^0$ mixing and $CP$ violation measurements in the charm sector, which will benefit from a factor 50 increase in statistics and an improved vertex detection and particle identification. The impact on the determination of CKM parameters from the measurements of purely leptonic $D$ mesons decays is discussed. Finally a novel method of flavour tagging to substantially increase the sample of $D^0$ and $bar{D}^0$ is presented.

LHCb continues to expand its world-leading sample of charmed hadrons collected during LHC's Run 1 (2010-2012) and Run 2 (2015-present). This sample is yielding some of the most stringent tests of the Standard Model understanding of charm physics. This includes precise measurements of the neutral D-meson mixing parameters and some of the most sensitive searches for direct and indirect CP violation in charm interactions.

The COHERENT collaboration measured coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) for the first time at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, using a CsI[Na] detector. Here we discuss the nature of the CEvNS process, physics motivations, and experimental considerations for measuring CEvNS. We describe the CsI[Na] measurement, along with status and future of COHERENT.

RENO (Reactor Experiment for Neutrino Oscillation) is the reactor neutrino experiment which has been taking data from August 2011 with two identical near and far detectors at Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant, Yonggwang, Korea. Using 1,500 live days of data, $sin^2 2theta_{13}$ and $|Delta m^2_{ee}|$ are updated using spectral measurements: $sin^2 2theta_{13} = 0.086 pm 0.006 ({rm stat.}) pm 0.005 ({rm syst.})$ and $|Delta m^2_{ee}| = 2.61+0.15-0.16 ({rm stat.}) pm 0.09 ({rm syst.}) (times 10^{-3} {rm eV^2})$. The 5 MeV excess dependency on the reactor thermal power rate is again clearly observed with the increased data set.

New results on the multiplicity and centre-of-mass energy dependence of identified particle production in pp collisions with ALICE pp与ALICE碰撞中识别粒子产生的多重性和质心能量依赖的新结果

The study of identified particle production in proton-proton (pp) collisions as a function of center-of-mass energy ($sqrt{s}$) and event charged-particle multiplicity is a key tool for understanding similarities and differences between small and large collision systems. We report on new measurements of the production of identified particles and their dependence on multiplicity and $sqrt{s}$. Latest results for light flavor hadrons, comprising $pi^{pm}$, $mathrm{K}^{pm}$, ${rm p}(rm bar{p})$, single-strange ($mathrm{K_{S}^{0}}$, $bar{Lambda}$, and $Lambda$), multi-strange ($Xi^{-}$, $overline{Xi}^{+}$, $Omega^{-}$, and $overline{Omega}^{+}$) particles as well as resonances ($mathrm{K^{*0}}$, $mathrm{overline{K}^{*0}}$, $phi$), are presented for $sqrt{s}~=~5.02, 7$, and 13 TeV. The measured minimum bias $p_{rm T}$ spectra and yields were complemented with multiplicity-dependent measurements for single- and multi-strange hadrons at $sqrt{s}~=~7$ and $sqrt{s}~=~13$ TeV. Results are compared to measurements at lower $sqrt{s}$ as well as to those in proton-lead and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions, respectively at $sqrt{s}_{rm NN}~=~5.02$ TeV and $sqrt{s}_{rm NN}~=~2.76$ TeV. The results unveil intriguing similarities among collision systems at different $sqrt{s}$. The production rates of strange hadrons are found to increase more than those of non-strange particles, showing an enhancement pattern with multiplicity which does not depend on the collision energy. These yield ratios take values which are alike for small systems at comparable multiplicities and show smooth evolution with multiplicity across all collision systems. Although the multiplicity dependence of spectral shapes can be qualitatively described by general-purpose Monte Carlo (MC) event generators, the evolution of yield ratios is barely (or not) captured by MC model predictions.

Measurement of longitudinal-target-polarization dependent azimuthal asymmetries in SIDIS at COMPASS experiment COMPASS实验中SIDIS纵向-目标偏振相关方位不对称性的测量

Preliminary results obtained by the COMPASS experiment for longitudinal-spin-dependent azimuthal asymmetries in single-hadron muoproduction off protons are presented for the first time. The analysis was carried out on the full data sample collected by COMPASS with longitudinally polarized proton ($NH_3$) target in 2007 and 2011 using 160~gvc and 200~gvc muon beams, correspondingly. Within QCD parton model approach extracted asymmetries are giving access to the specific convolutions of certain transverse-momentum-dependent textit{twist-2} and textit{higher twist} parton distribution functions and fragmentation functions. In order to access different features of the involved distributions, the asymmetries are extracted as functions of different kinematic variables for both positive and negative single-hadron productions. The significant amount of collected data and wide kinematic range give unique importance to the results. Obtained asymmetries are compared with previous measurements performed by HERMES experiment and with available model predictions.

The analysis was carried out on the full data sample collected by COMPASS with longitudinally polarized proton ($NH_3$) target in 2007 and 2011 using 160~gvc and 200~gvc muon beams, correspondingly. Within QCD parton model approach extracted asymmetries are giving access to the specific convolutions of certain transverse-momentum-dependent textit{twist-2} and textit{higher twist} parton distribution functions and fragmentation functions. In order to access different features of the involved distributions, the asymmetries are extracted as functions of different kinematic variables for both positive and negative single-hadron productions. The significant amount of collected data and wide kinematic range give unique importance to the results. Obtained asymmetries are compared with previous measurements performed by HERMES experiment and with available model predictions.","PeriodicalId":8429,"journal":{"name":"arXiv: High Energy Physics - Experiment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80104668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
