ABSTRACT Cartesian ontological belief has placed man over other beings and has separated humans from nature. This Cartesian hierarchical thinking has led to the destruction of the environment so much that our lives are at stake now. Man’s anthropocentric behaviour has impelled him to a perilous situation where his very existence is threatened. Man’s anthropocentric attitude is the root cause for this unprecedented climate change because the male supremacy believes that women as well as nature are entities that can be controlled. Ecofeminism, as a theory, challenges the existing patriarchal paradigms and holds that the there is a strong connection between women and nature and they are inseparable. The objective of this paper is to present a comprehensive view of ecofeminism as an emerging theory of literary research by focusing on its origin, development, precepts, and proponents.

ABSTRACT The demand for well-trained staff in tourism has increased in the last three decades. This is due to the economic contribution of tourism to national economies and its popularity in generating employment. Many developing countries depend on tourism for socio-economic development. Current literature reveals the existence of a gap in Community-based Tourism (CBT) curriculum and qualifications at degree level. This paper is a conceptual paper compiled using an internet search of keywords related to community-based tourism. It examines the gaps that exist in the CBT capacity building process. This is meant to encourage tourism educators and curriculum developers to seriously consider CBT education at degree level. This paper recommends the introduction of a new qualification in CBT at the degree level in South Africa and elsewhere to fill the gaps in CBT capacity principally because such an offering does not exist based on the literature perused.

ABSTRACT The aim of this work is to complement the knowledge about mutual influence on ethnic groups on the Vojvodina Region (the north part of Serbia), as the phenomenon that may appear as the consequence of cohabitation. It is in the function of forming the Vojvodinian cohabitation model (VCM) checking stances offered by poll, the opinion was got from the participants that belong to different ethnic groups. The best evaluated stance was the one that says that intercultural exchange of experience advanced the life quality. This paper intends to say that the interethnic conflicts permanently kept media’s attention. Almost nobody noticed that mixed marriages are an example of the international love. The research has shown that the evaluation of a certain stance depends on the ethnic structure of certain settlements. Participants who during their lives had more experience from cultural exchanges, could see and understand its importance.

ABSTRACT In the past three decades, a lot of progress has been made in higher education internationalization in Mainland China. By December 2016, 2411 organizations and projects of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools have been established with the support of the Ministry of Education. In this paper, research trends have been conducted based on the research in the field of higher education internationalization in Mainland China. There are altogether 8 issues, which have been classified. These 8 issues have been analyzed based on their similarities and also their differences. Adopting a synthetic and overview angle, this paper concentrates on how these issues are going to be analyzed. Besides, it also focuses on how these issues are evolved. Last but not the least, this paper also focuses on the results generated from the research.

ABSTRACT Land rights of rural women serve as an important embodiment of those women's status and right. How well the land rights are protected represents an important symbol to measure the degree of civilization. However, in the practice of land circulation, land rights of rural women have been violated to varying degrees. Through the method of documentation, fieldwork and interviews, this paper discusses the problems about women's rights in land circulation in western China. The research showed that rural women's land contract authority, decision-making authority, and right of inheritance have all been damaged and violated in land circulation in this area. To further secure women's rights in the circulation of rural land, various measures should be taken, such as laws and regulations be improved, membership qualification of rural collective economic organizations be clearly defined, villager autonomy mechanism be upgraded, and education and training for women be strengthened.

ABSTRACT This paper aims to deal with the mechanism, path and practice of the convergence development of tourism industry in the context of economic transformation. This paper proposes convergence models of tourism industry based on a conceptual model by combing and discriminating of convergence concepts of tourism industry. The paper studies the patterns of integrating culture industry and tourism industry in the perspective of the theory of industry integration, generalizes three patterns of industry integration, that is, extended pattern, restructuring pattern and permeable pattern, makes the theoretic analysis of them systematically. In light of the characteristics of the culture and the tourism in China, the paper illustrates the base and the feasible patterns of integrating the culture industry and the tourism industry in China, and also gives some suggestions on integrating and developing the culture industry and the tourism industry for China.

ABSTRACT Lineage has a long history in southern China where many villages have maintained lineage ethics and activities even in present days. Previous researches suggest that the intergenerational relations in such areas appear a relax situation owing to the strong lineage tradition. However, this paper, from the perspective of the younger generation and the daily contact among generations, reveals that the younger generation challenges the authority of the elder generation in everyday lives, which results in the strained intergeneration relations. Nonetheless, the funeral ceremony plays an important role to alleviate the tension in the symbolic domain. The experimental design of this research relies on participant-observation, questionnaire, and in-depth interview in a multi-lineage village in Fujian province, China.

ABSTRACT Lower limbs bear the entire body weight under the influence of gravity in various activities of daily living like walking. Upper limbs are not having any comparable weight bearing role in modern bipedal human beings. Thus, there may be evolutionary differences in limbs for their dependency on osteogenic factors like nutrition, weight bearing, and environmental aspects. The level of vitamin D may be predominantly important for the non-weight bearing upper extremity skeletal mineralization during winters as compared to lower limbs in modern bipedal humans. Vitamin D's association with quantitative ultrasound derived T and Z scores were checked and its osteogenic role explored in this study. Vitamin D level using enzyme - linked immunoassay (ELISA) and ultrasound derived T and Z scores of radius and tibia were checked during winters for a correlational study on 20 participants. Present study results show significant positive correlation (r=+0.491; p=.038) and significant positive linear regression analysis for quantitative ultrasound derived T score of distal radius (p=0.033 *, R2=.241, b0= - 1.51, b1=0.053) with vitamin D levels; whereas the correlation of vitamin D was not significantly positive for midshaft tibia's T score (r=+0.298; p=.229). Thus, a direct dependency of vitamin D for only the upper limb has been seen, for osteogenic function.

ABSTRACT Popular criticism tends to consider that Faulkner is preoccupied with formal experimentation to the pint of obliviousness and indifference to the tenor of the times. However, Faulkner's works especially his late fiction is not only socially challenging but also politically radical. Based on Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft, two key concepts by Ferdinand Tönnies’,this paper analyzed the social transformation in American South through the portrayal of FlemSnopes’ economic reform and innovation in Faulkner's The Hamlet and revealed it's profound effect on the whole society on which the identity of the modern American South are founded. In the dramatization of FlemSnopes and his kin, Faulkner depicts them as an allegory and challenges the blind faith in the so called progress of human society.

ABSTRACT This paper hierarchically constructed the Rural Development Level (RDL) evaluation index system with four evaluation indices and ten factor layer indices. The result showed that, on one hand, basic features of rural development included stability overall level, remarkable growth trend, obvious regional characteristics on Minnan area, Northern area, a small part of Minxi area in Fujian province, and undulation of different regions in different periods of Fujian's rural development. On the other hand, rural development in Fujian province, is striking influenced by geography, resources, economy and culture, and the characteristics of agricultural modernization, new urbanization and new rural construction are main driving factors. Ultimately, the four dominant types with Industry and Commerce Oriented (I), Agricultural Industry Oriented (II), Agriculture, Industry and Commerce Oriented (III), and Agricultural Leading (IV) of rural development was divided by cluster analysis.
