OBJECTIVE: Analysis of two adhesive systems of different composition by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for immediate dentin sealing to be included in the protocol of direct pulp capping with MTA. METHOD: Ten extracted upper premolars separated into two groups, one corresponding to 5 samples of Clearfil SE Bond and Clear Esthetic Flow composite (Kuraray) and the other corresponding to 5 samples for Optibond FL and its Revolution Formula 2 composite (Kerr) which were handled according to the manufacturer’s instructions, axially cut and taken to SEM. RESULTS: Clearfil SE Bond (Kuraray) presented a greater penetration of the odontoblastic fibers, thus demonstrating its biocompatibility and its affinity in the ionic interaction with the inorganic composition of the dentin tissue. On the other hand, we observed that OptiBond FL (Kerr) generated the formation of a hybrid layer that diffuses through the dentinal tubules, this morphological layer is defined with a greater thickness in contrast to the Clearfil SE Bond group. However, it is important to mention the presence of spaces and the identification of lower penetration on the identification on the dentinal tubules. ONCLUSIONS: 1.- Clearfil SE Bondhas greater adhesion to dentin thanks to MDP and seeks the same action of interacting with hydroxyapatite, just as MTA helps its formation. That is why we propose to include immediate dentin sealing with an adhesive that includes this type of MDP monomer, within the RPD protocol because it seeks the same result as MTA by different ways, it could be included in the protocol because they have affinity for ions or clinical elements for the formation of dentin tissue and together, they can reach the formation of hydroxyapatite.
ONCLUSIONS: 1。

A clinical case is described of a 17-year-old patient who suffered a trauma at the age of 8, compromising the upper right incisor, which prevented complete apical closure and the presence of a periapical lesion. The patient reports having interrupted the root canal treatment one year ago, in the diagnostic periapical radiograph the endodontic treatment already started is confirmed and temporary crown filling material is observed, the presence perhaps of calcium hydroxide inside the root canal, incomplete apical formation and a periapical radiolucent lesion. Root canal treatment was resumed using K-type manual files until reaching a #140 apical caliber, 5.25% sodium hypochlorite was used as irrigant, Ultrapex (Ca(OH)2 + Iodoform) was placed as intracanal medication for several months. Two years after resuming treatment, the patient was asymptomatic, and in the control periapical radiograph it was possible to observe the considerable decrease in the periapical lesion, therefore it was decided to obturate using the classic lateral condensation technique, AH Plus sealant and previous at this stage, 4mm of MTA was placed as an apical barrier. Conclusions The importance of using intracanal medication in situations of dental necrosis with a periapical lesion of considerable size is shown through this clinical case. This case was caused due to dental trauma which, as we know, can evolve in very different ways and in many situations the dental prognosis ends up being very unfavorable. In addition, because it is an immature apex, the use of an MTA apical barrier was essential for containing the filling materials to avoid their extrusion into the periapical tissues and ensuring a better sealing in the apical third.

Introduction: Type IV dental fluorosis compromises the aesthetic and psychological expectations of patients. The main cause is excessive intake of fluoride during dental development. Conservative treatments for the removal of some pigmentations are microabrasion and combination with tooth whitening. There are new products on the market, such as Antivet®, which is proposed in this study for comparison with other treatments. Materials and methods: 12 dental organs were stored in 0.2% thymol at 37°C, which were divided into 4 groups. Group 1 (OP): (n=3) Opalustre®, group 2 (OP+PH): (n=3) treated with Opalustre® adding Whiteness HP Maxx 35%®, group 3 (ANT) (n=3): treated with Antivet® and group 4 (ANT+PH): (n=3) treated with Antivet® and Whiteness HP Maxx 35%®. Microabrasion was performed with Opalustre® for 60 seconds at 10 intervals for a total of 10 minutes of exposure. The abrasion with Antivet® was carried out for 10 minutes, at the end the neutralizing solution of the same treatment was placed for one minute. Whiteness HP Maxx 35%® was applied seven days after the treatments with Opalustre® and Antivet®, for 15 minutes, making 2 more applications for a total of 45 minutes of exposure. The specimens were taken to SEM/EDS (JEOL FE-SEM JSM-7800F) and color measurements were taken with VITA EasyShade V ® spectrophotometer. Statistical process control: The Kolmogórov-Smirnov test, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed with a significance level of .05 in the statistical package IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Results: in the ANT group, SEM images show the loss of the aprismatic layer and an etched surface in which the periphery of the enamel prisms appeard removed. On the ANT+PH group an etched surface was observed around the enamel rods, slight erosion and porosity on the enamels surface. In the mineral content there was a statistically significant difference between the study groups of the minerals C, P, F and Ca (p < 0.05) For the color measurement, there was a statistically significant difference in the ΔE value between the OP group compared to the ANT group with a p-value of 0.031, being the highest value in ANT. Conclusion: The Antivet® treatment showed a more significant favorable color change in the L*, a*, and b* values, as well as an increase in the concentration of Ca and P.

The aim of this study was to compare the quantity of tooth movement in canine distalization, using the precision technique in the experimental group and the conventional method in the control group. MATERIALS AND METHODS: twenty upper canines of ten patients were analyzed in a splitmouth design. They were distalized using an elastomeric chain applying a force of 250 grams per side. The teeth were divided randomly into two groups; the experimental group: 10 canines in which piezocision were applied; control group: 10 canines distalized with a conventional method. Patients were cited for measurements and changes of elastomeric chains every fourteen days on three occasions. Dental casts were taken at every appointment to calculate the distance of distalization. RESULTS: distalization time in the experimental group decreased since the control group reported a mean of distalization of 0.97±0.32 mm while the experimental group had a mean of 2.01±0. 51mm. CONCLUSIONS: Piezosicion-assisted distalization accelerates tooth movement, decreases loss of posterior anchorage, and is a minimally invasive procedure with a low post-operatory pain level.

The objective of this study was to evaluate in vitro the effect of pH on the mechanical properties of three different acetates brands used to manufacture dental aligners. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 27 specimens of thermoformed acetates of the brands Zendura A., Dentsply Sirona and Valdi were incubated in artificial saliva at 37°C in a Shel-Lab 1510E incubator and immersed twice a day for 5 minutes in beverages with different pH levels to measure its elastic limit on days 0, 7 and 14. STATISTICAL PROCESS CONTROL: Data analysis was performed using the KolmorogovSmirnov and Levene tests, and later with analysis of variance (ANOVA), multiple comparisons post -hoc with the Sheffe test and the Friedman statistical test for paired samples; all with a significance level of 0.05 using the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 statistical package. RESULTS: The elastic limit measurements on days 7 and 14 indicate significant differences between the different pHs and are not consistent between the three brands of acetates. The Zendura A brand at neutral pH increased and then recovered to 99%, at acidic pH it decreased to 85% then 64%, and at alkaline pH it increased more than half, then returned to 105% of baseline. The Dentsply Sirona brand in neutral pH had a decrease and then recovered to 96%, in acidic pH it increased progressively to 113% and 118%, and in alkaline pH it decreased to 69% to later recover to 84%. The Valdi brand in all groups increased and at the end was recovered, in neutral pH to 92%, in acidic pH to 87%, and in alkaline pH to 80% with respect to the initial value. CONCLUSIONS: The mechanical properties of the aligners vary and may be affected depending on the pH to which they are subjected, having variability in their elastic limit. The specimens subjected to acidic and alkaline drinks had a greater decrease in their elastic limit when compared to those subjected to neutral pH. In general, it was possible to observe that the specimens increased their elastic limit on day 7 and then approached their initial value on day 14.

Introduction During the instrumentation phase, despite having a strict control of the working length, one of the main problems that can arise is the extrusion of residues and intracanal irrigants towards the periradicular tissues. Objective The aim of this study is to compare the amount of extruded dentin debris during instrumentation using a new endodontic motor in two different functions. Methods 24 extracted premolars were divided into two groups. The cameral access was performed using a # 4 carbide ball bur, all samples were decoronated to standardize the working length at 17 mm. The samples were instrumented with .06 taper Nickel-Titanium Vortex Blue rotary files (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) with an E-Connect S. endodontic motor in two of its functions: Slow down and rotary. For the collection of extruded debris, Eppendorf tubes were used, which were weighed individually. After instrumentation, the samples were stored in an incubator at 70 ° C for 5 days to evaporate the distilled water, product of the irrigation, and later the tubes were weighed again by the same scale to obtain the final weight of the tubes with the extruded debris. Results When comparing the weight in grams of the amount of debris extruded during instrumentation with two different functions of the E connect S endodontic motor, using Ni Ti rotary files, Vortex Blue, it was observed that the slow down function produces a lower amount of debris, however there were no statistically significant differences between both groups. Conclusion Both functions of the E connect S endodontic motor produce dentin debris, however, it was observed that in the slow down function, the amount of apical debris extrusion is slightly lower.

Numerous anthropogenic pressures, including periodic fires, affect the current functioning and structure of tropical savannas. The objective was to contribute to the evaluation of the effects of fires on the woody cover in the high Guinean savannas of Cameroon. The work took place in the Mbakaou and Ngaoundal districts in the Djerem Division. Floristic inventories were carried out in transects 1 km long and 20 m wide. A total of 100 transects were carried out, covering an area of 30 ha. For each parameter studied, the analysis of variance was performed using XLSTAT and the Excel software was used to produce the graphs. The results show that the specific diversity is globally low with 49 species, 44 genera and 20 families. The most dominant species are Entadaafricana and Piliostigmathonningii. The families of great ecological importance are Fabaceae and Combretaceae. The demographic structure (diameters, heights, dhp) of the savannas follows an "L" shaped distribution. Thus, fires contribute to the erosion of biodiversity. It is urgent to take adequate measures to limit bush fires.

It is urgent to take adequate measures to limit bush fires.","PeriodicalId":91885,"journal":{"name":"International journal of engineering technology and scientific innovation","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82561865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study explored social media use among IT workers at the University of Aydin, Turkey. A quantitative descriptive survey was adopted, elicited data from a total population sample was analysed using frequency counts/percentages and Spearman correlation. Among others, results indicated social media positive attitude as the IT workers are prolific users of social media for information and knowledge sharing/seeking, professional/official, communicative, interactive, and informative, IT work-tasks related and social activities. WhatsApp, Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, Yahoo Messenger, and Twitter respectively were mostly used. Performance expectancy and effort expectancy has a moderately positive relationship with the intention to use social media, respectively, while social influence has a weak positive relationship with the intention to use social media. However, there is a moderately positive relationship between facilitating conditions and actual use of social media, there is also a moderately positive relationship between intention and actual use of social media.

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the percentage of phagocytosis of polymorphonuclear leukocyte in patients with diabetes type I and type II with periodontal disease, recent COVID-19 pandemic that has affected millions of people in the world, it has been shown that patients with diabetes have a greater susceptibility to seriously developing the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Materials and Methods: The study consisted of 20 patients from the Periodontology Postgraduate clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, who underwent a sample of 10 ml of heparinized blood was taken and 3 ml of Dextran 3% was added and incubated at 37 ° C for two hours in a serological bath, at the end of this time they were centrifuged at 1500 rpm for 6 minutes, the cells were washed with the GIBCO ™ DMEM culture medium 3 times for further counting and adjusted the population at 2-4 x 10 6 cells / ml. The experimental design consisted in using 200 μl of the cells in GIBCO ™ DMEM culture medium and 300 μl of a pure culture of Staphylococcus aureus was diluted in 0.85% saline solution, both reagents were incubated at 37 ° C for 45 minutes, then the cells were resuspended and it placed 1 drop on a slide, dried, fixed with methanol and stained each smear using the Gram technique to then count 100 cells that phagocytosed and not phagocytosed. Results: Control patients reported an average of 83.20 ± 5.81 phagocytic action, and diabetic patients type I and type II reported an average of 40.70 ± 9.92. Likewise, when analyzing the percentage of non-phagocytosis, the control patients presented an average of 16.80 ± 5.81 and the diabetic patients of 59.30 ± 9.92, which was statistically significant (p = 0.001), by other hand, comparing the percentage of phagocytosis among patients with diabetes type I and type II were not statistically significant, with an average
