Introduction: Milk and dairy products are an important component of a balanced diet. Deficiency of milk and dairy products contributes to the violation of the main health indicators of various age groups of the population. The purpose of the study: analysis of the frequency of consumption of various groups of dairy products by students Materials and methods: 388 full-time students of the Medical Institute of the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship RUDN University took part in the cross-sectional study, of which 185 were men and 203 were women, the average age was 20.4+2.2 and 21.9+1.7 years, respectively. . Anthropometric measurements were performed according to the standard program. The frequency of consumption of various groups of dairy products was studied using a modified questionnaire on the frequency of consumption of products. Results: analysis of the questionnaire on the frequency of consumption of products, it have been demonstrated that approximately 16% of the respondents did not consume milk over the past month, about a third - cottage cheese, 22% - natural sour-milk products and 18% - sour-milk products with various fillers; hard cheeses and pickled cheeses are not used by 9% and 26% of respondents, respectively. 11% of respondents drink milk daily, 5% consume cottage cheese daily, 4% and 1% - fermented milk products, natural and with fillers, hard cheese -4%. Gender differences in the characteristics of consumer preferences were revealed, girls are less likely to use cream, sour cream, soft cheese, milk, which is obvious. Among girls, the prevalence of persons with overweight was higher and amounted to 25% (50 students), than among boys - 19% (35 students). A modest inverse relationship was found between daily milk intake and body weight and between milk intake and BMI (r=-0.61 and r=-0.65). Conclusions: among students, insufficient consumption of milk and dairy products was revealed, the relationship between the frequency of their consumption and indicators of physical development was noted.

Cachexia mediated by the multiligand receptor RAGE (receptor for advanced glycation end products) and its ligands HMGB1, S100B, and S100A1 is a formidable multifactorial complication of the severe course of a number of somatic and malignant diseases. One of the most visualized symptoms of cachexia is a significant decrease in body weight, but the main one is the systemic shutdown of a number of regulatory centers that control the maintenance of homeostasis. Activation of these markers contributes to the launch and intensification of the destructive processes of cachexia, and blocking, in some cases, can reduce their intensity. Among known drugs from various therapeutic groups, there are blockers of one or more markers. For example, papaverine antispasmodic as well as the nootropic anxiolytic tenotene, antibacterial pentamidine and antidepressant duloxetine. The review describes in detail the significance of the listed markers in the pathogenesis of cachexia, especially in malignant pathology. An assumption was made about the possible control of cachectic progression with the help of such blockers to improve quality of the life patients. The Internet resource PubMed and the ELIBRARY database were used as primary sources. Access to the full text of the articles is carried out on the websites of the publishing houses Springer and Elsever.

The infusion therapy (IT) is a routine procedure of the nowadays perioperative period and critical patient treatment. But there are controversial questions about the quantity, quality, start and duration of IT which are discussing. Modern IT includes intravenous administration of crystalloid solutions and more rarely colloid solutions. The type, amount and rate of infusion fluid depends on the indication for infusion therapy and the specific requirements of the patient. Nowadays colloidal solutions have limited indications. Crystalloid solutions are used for IT of patients with hypovolemia or dehydration, correction of free water deficiency, correction of electrolyte disorders, replenishment of ongoing fluid losses and replacement for patients who unable to drink water orally. All patients should be monitored with combination of clinical parameters and laboratory tests. Therapeutic endpoints should be determined. The time when this endpoints are achieved fluid therapy should be appropriately de-escalated for avoiding overhydration.

In a clinical case we can see the tactics of nutritional support in a patient with pseudomembranous colitis after repeated consecutive operations on the abdominal organs, which led to significant violations of the nutritional status. Nutritional status was assessed using traditional methods: determination of anthropometric parameters (shoulder circumference (OC), thickness of the skin-fat fold over the triceps (TSA)), assessment of clinical and biochemical blood tests. The main aim of demonstrating a clinical case is to show the significance, timeliness, and adequacy of nutritional support in the complex therapy of Clostridium difficile infection. Competent, individually selected correction of protein-energy deficiency in patients with pseudomembranous colitis allows achieving an effective treatment result, avoiding severe complications such as perforation, toxic dilatation, and bleeding. The peculiarity of this clinical case is that a patient with perforation of Meckel's diverticulum and abdominal abscess developed a complication - secondary widespread peritonitis, phlegmon, which required repeated surgical interventions. Surgical treatment and massive antibiotic therapy led to the development of Clostridium difficile infection, during the treatment the patient developed multiple loose stools and Clostridium difficile toxins A and B were detected. Severe pseudomembranous colitis was accompanied by protein-energy deficiency (hypoproteinemia, hypoalbuminemia), severe dehydration, hypokalemia, hyponatremia, and moderately severe anemia of complex genesis. When selecting nutritional support for patients with clostridial infection, it is important to take into account severe systemic inflammation, which affects the absorption and absorption of the intestinal wall, which in turn determines the route of introduction of nutrient substrates. In this case we need to choose the right method for correcting the nutritional status.

The ability to adhere to the intestinal epithelium is a classic criterion for the selection of potential probiotic bacteria, which can lead to temporary colonization, which will promote immunomodulatory effects, as well as stimulate the intestinal barrier and metabolic functions. In this research paper, several methods of selection of probiotic microorganisms are considered in order to determine the most useful and proliferative strains for subsequent use in clinical practice in the correction of metabolic disorders and relief of inflammatory processes of the gastrointestinal tract.

Nutritional support is an important and integral part of the treatment process for critically ill patients. Patients after neurosurgical interventions and patients with damage to the central nervous system, for example, due to acute ischemic stroke (AIS), may be due to the severity of the condition in the intensive care unit. This is a separate category of patients and nutritional support for this category of patients has its own characteristics. Enteral nutrition, as the most physiological type of nutrition, should be an integral part of the treatment process in the intensive care unit. In patients in the acute period of a severe condition with brain damage, in addition to the metabolic response to damage, there are also factors that limit the implementation of enteral nutrition: the brain damage itself, being in intensive care, and methods of intensive therapy. The choice of an enteral formula in this category of patients is complex and fundamental to provide adequate nutritional support to cover energy and protein requirements. The purpose of this scientific review is to highlight the issues of choosing a mixture for enteral nutrition of patients in the neurocritical care unit (NICU) who are in the acute period of a critical ill.

Abstract. Rationale. Nutritional support, including sips, is an integral part of anticancer treatment, including during surgical treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Existing evidence for the effectiveness of nutritional support in this cohort of patients is limited. We suggest that the perioperative administration of a balanced polymeric hypercaloric high-protein enteral nutritional formula by sipping as an additional nutrition can have a positive effect on the results of surgical treatment. Material and methods. Russian multicenter comparative low-intervention study of the effect of perioperative high-protein nutritional support on postoperative outcomes in the treatment of primary lung cancer with parallel groups, 1:1 randomization. The study will include 114 patients with newly diagnosed NSCLC who are scheduled for surgery. It is expected to provide nutritional support in the perioperative period for 14 days before surgery and for 14 days after it. Discussion. The need for nutritional support in oncology is not in doubt, but its impact on the results of surgical treatment of NSCLC is not numerous. The present study may become one of the first evidence-based studies confirming the effectiveness of perioperative nutritional support with high-protein mixtures in patients with NSCLC and will allow further study of the strategy of nutritional support in this category of patients. Registration of the study. Protocol version and date: NUTRILUNC v.1.2 dated June 10, 2022. Study ID: РНИ.40.002. The study is registered in the register NARNIS (https://narnis.ru).
