Poly(phosphoeter)s (PPE)s are a class of polymers possessing a high chemical functionality and biodegradability. Novel, glutamic acid based poly(phosphoeter)s were synthesized by the Steglich reaction. The developed synthetic approach allows controlling the composition and the structure of PPEs, and therefore their physical and colloidal properties. The studies on solubilization and cytotoxicity in vitro proved the potential of PPEs for drug delivery applications.

Optimization of Epoxidation Palm-Based Oleic Acid to Produce Polyols 棕榈基油酸环氧化生产多元醇的工艺优化

Optimization of epoxidation by using response surface methodology (RSM) based on three-level three-factorial central composite design (CCD) was used. Response percentage of relative oxirane content (%RCO) was studied to determine the optimum reaction condition for production of polyols. The predicted value of model (85 %) was excellent in accordance to experimental value (81 %). All parameters (temperature, molar ratio of formic acid to oleic acid and molar ratio of hydrogen peroxide to oleic acid) were significant in influencing the course of epoxidation reaction (p < 0.05). The interaction between all parameters is also highly significant with p < 0.0001. Optimum reaction conditions obtained from RSM were as follows: the temperature 318 K, molar ratio of formic acid to oleic acid 1.64:1 and molar ratio of hydrogen peroxide to oleic acid 2:1. The epoxidation of palm oleic acid was carried out by using in situ performic acid. FTIR analysis showed the formation of epoxy functional groups at optimum reaction condition at the wavelength of 1340 cm-1. This epoxide group was used to produce polyols by using hydroxylation process and the polyols functional group was detected at the wavelength of 816 cm-1

Studying the Effect of Butanol on the Anode Behavior of Copper in Phosphoric Acid Solutions 丁醇对铜在磷酸溶液中阳极行为影响的研究

The anode behavior of the copper electrode immersed in butanol phosphate electrolytes has been studied. The polarization dependences of the electrode allowed us to detect the sections that correspond to the passive and active states of copper and we also established the zone of the combined behavior of the processes of the copper dissolution and oxygen release. It was also established that a butyl alcohol contributes to an abrupt decrease in current densities in the entire region of anode potentials. The addition of butanol conditions the disappearance of current oscillations that can be seen on polarization dependences in phosphate solutions. Evidently, a decrease in the current densities is a consequence of the butanol adsorption on the copper surface and its participation in the formation of passive films. The specific features of the copper passivation in butanol phosphate electrolytes are characterized by the appearance of the explicit current peak that separates active and passive state zones at the ratio of C4H9OН:H3PO4 =1:3.As the alcohol-to-acid ratio increases, the peak gradually decreases. The addition of butanol has no determining influence on the potential value that corresponds to the started oxygen release. Currentefficiency values for the copper dissolution depend on the anode current density ja and the electrolyte composition. An increase in ja results in a decreased current efficiency value. An increase in the С4Н9ОН content has a similar action. Maximum current efficiency values are observed at ja=0.5–2 А∙dm-2, and they correspond to the active copper state. The dependences obtained for the copper dissolution rate allowed us to establish that υрalso increases with an increase in the current density up to ja=20 А∙dm-2. The copper treatment quality depends on the current density and the electrolyte composition. The solutions with the ratio of C4H9OН:H3PO4=2:1fail to provide a high quality treatment; the surface is not glossy and it has grinding traces. A high-quality treatment is observed in the electrolytes with the ratio of C4H9OН:H3PO4 =1:2 and lower. The electrochemical polishing in such solutions results in the glossy copper surface with the smoothed relief and it has no polishing traces.

Preparation and Purification of a Flame-Retardant Polyphenylphosphonate Containing 4,4'-Dihydroxybenzophenone 含4,4′-二羟基二苯甲酮阻燃型聚苯基膦酸盐的制备与纯化

A polyphenylphosphonate containing 4,4'-dihydroxybenzophenone was synthesized as a flame retardant. However, impurities were detected and may compromise its properties and thermal stability. Thus, a purification route based on water and hexane extraction with reflux was proposed. Results showed success in removing impurities, especially P–Cl groups, without damaging the polymer.

Antibacterial Efficacy of Silver or Arsenic Doped Polymer Composites Against Several Kinds of Bacteria 银或砷掺杂聚合物复合材料对几种细菌的抗菌效果

Structure and several properties of AgNO3 and As2O3 doped polymer composites have been investigated, including their antibacterial activity against E. coli, S. aureus, C. albicans and S. epidermidis. New silver or arsenic doped polymer composites have been characterized by an X-ray diffraction (XRD), a scanning electron microscopy combined with an energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDS) and ion release studies. The antibacterial evaluation of each of the composite samples was conducted using S. aureus in the liquid broth culture, with 10, 20 and 30 % of liquid extract added to the bacterial culture. Control S. aureus stocks were used for comparison at each time period and were recorded at 100 % at each time period. For samples with the PLA plasticizer the bacterial viability was significantly reduced for each composition containing Ag/As and was similar for each dosage concentration.

Brittleness Determination for Cement Blends with Siliceous Additives 硅质添加剂水泥共混物脆性的测定

The paper presents research of brittleness cement blends with siliceous additives using impact strength. The advantages of the developed method are simplicity of definition, low cost of equipment and operation. In the presented research were studied additives on the basis of finely ground glass obtained from waste glass containers and pozzolanic additives as fly ash, silica fume and synthetic silica. Increase in additives amount in respect to the cement mass reduces brittleness by ~10 % after 28 days of curing. The addition of 35 % of ground glass decreases the brittleness of the cement paste, whereas 10 % of pozzolanic additive increase it during the period from 1 to 28 days. Determination of brittleness using impact strength can be used to evaluate the activity of siliceous additives in cement blends.

Isolation of Antibacterial Nano-Hydroxyapatite Biomaterial from Waste Buffalo Bone and Its Characterization 从废水牛骨中分离抗菌纳米羟基磷灰石生物材料及其性能研究

Hydroxyapatite nanoparticles were isolated from a biowaste, buffalo bone, via the thermal decomposition method. The resulting white powdered material was characterized by Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. The FTIR spectra confirmed that a heat treatment of the bone powder at the temperature at or above 1223 K removed the organic moieties leading to the formation of a pure inorganic biomineral. The XRD analyses showed that the obtained material was nanocrystalline HAp (nano-HAp) with an average grain diameter of 25 nm, while their rod-shaped particles with their tightly agglomerated morphology were confirmed by the SEM analysis. Besides Calcium (Ca), Phosphorous (P), and Oxygen (O), trace amounts of Aluminum (Al), Magnesium (Mg), Copper (Cu), Zirconium (Zr) and Carbon (C) were also found by EDX analysis. Antibacterial activity of nano-HAp against six standard isolates was investigated by the agar well diffusion method and found to be more susceptible to Acinetobacter baumannii while other standard strains such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus showed lesser susceptibility and no antibacterial activity was noticed against Salmonella typhi and Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) with the analysed concentration of nano-HAp suggesting its potential application in biomedical fields.

The FTIR spectra confirmed that a heat treatment of the bone powder at the temperature at or above 1223 K removed the organic moieties leading to the formation of a pure inorganic biomineral. The XRD analyses showed that the obtained material was nanocrystalline HAp (nano-HAp) with an average grain diameter of 25 nm, while their rod-shaped particles with their tightly agglomerated morphology were confirmed by the SEM analysis. Physical and Mathematical Models of Target Component Extraction from Rectlinear Capillaries 从矩形毛细血管中提取目标成分的物理和数学模型

The extraction of the solid component from the rectilinear capillary has been investigated. The presence of two extraction zones (convective and molecular diffusion) was confirmed. The effect of the system vacuumizing on the extraction rate has been studied. The convection zone during vacuumizing was found to be increased due to the appearance of the vapor phase bubbles. The mass transfer coefficients for the convective zone have been determined. A mathematical model of the molecular diffusion stage is given, taking into account the nonlinear change in the component concentration in the liquid due to the displacement of the extraction boundary. The molecular diffusion coefficients in the capillary have been determined.

Synthesis of Heterocyclic Pyridine-Based Chalcones with Dimeric Structure 二聚结构吡啶类杂环查尔酮的合成

Three new heterocyclic chalcones containing pyridine moiety were synthesized and their chemical structures were determined via IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. General name of these compounds are α,ω-bis{3-(pyridin-3-yl)-1-(phenyl-4-oxy)prop-2-en-1-one}alkanes. The chalcones are dimers having a symmetrical structure and they can be differed by the alkyl spacer length (CnH2n, where n = 8, 10 or 12). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) technique was employed to study their phase transition behaviors. DSC thermograms displayed direct isotropization and recrystallization during heating and cooling processes, respectively. The crystal phase turned into isotropic phase without exhibiting any mesophase. Influence of structure-liquid crystalline property relationships of the symmetrical dimers was examined in order to explain the reasons for the non-liquid crystalline properties in the current chalcones.

Organic-inorganic hydrophilic composites based on sodium polyacrylate (PAANa) and poly-N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (PAPTMS) showed the improved swelling capacity at incorporation of PAPTMS. Changing of non-Fickian to Super case II swelling behaviour is observed at 20 wt % PAPTMS content. Enhancing of thermal stability and heat-resistance index of composite hydrogels compared to PAA is shown.
