Objective To explore the effective method for treatment of small and short penis after hypospadias surgery. Method s From November 2017 to November 2018, 57 children aged 4 to 14[mean age(7.91±2.89)years] with hypospadias who met the diagnostic criteria of small penis were reexamined at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xin-xiang Medical University. They were randomly divided into the physical treatment group and the drug treatment group according to the order of visits, and the untreated patients were included in the control group.Among them, 21 patients in the physical treatment group were treated with penile rehabilitation therapy apparatus, supplemented by Salvia mil-tiorrhiza bath (30 minutes/time, once/day, 10 days), and 20 patients in the drug treatment group were treated with Testosterone cream topically (3 times/day, 10 days). Penile relaxation length, stretch length, transverse and longitudinal diameters of glans in 2 groups before and after the treatment were measured. The relevant indexes of 16 patients in the control group measured before and after 10 days and compared with those in the treatment group. Result s (1)The penile relaxation length in the physical treatment group increased from (25.48±6.13) mm to (30.72±6.49) mm, the length of stretch increased from (34.90±7.71) mm to (41.08±8.43) mm, the transverse diameter of glans increased from (14.81±3.40) mm to (16.57±3.42) mm, and the longitudinal diameter increased from (13.94±3.15) mm to (15.82±3.52) mm, and the differences were statistically significant (all P 0.05). (4) Compared with the control group, the penile relaxation length, the length of stretch, transverse diameter and longitudinal diameters of glans in the physical treatment group increased significantly, and the differences of growth values between the two groups were statistically significant (all P<0.05). (5) Compared with the control group, the penile relaxation length, the length of stretch, transverse diameter and longitudinal diameters of glans in the drug treatment group also increased significantly, and the difference of growth values between the two groups were statistically significant (all P<0.05). (6) The growth of penile relaxation length, the length of stretch and transverse and longitudinal diameters in the drug treatment group were higher than those in the physical treatment group, and the difference of growth values were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusions Both the negative pressure suction method and topical application of Testosterone cream are effective in the treatment of small and short penis after hypospadias surgery. However, Testosterone cream is difficult to obtain, and the treatment of negative pressure suction is simple, noninvasive, painless and free of adverse reactions. Objective To explore the incidence, diagnosis and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity(ROP) in preterm infants born in the Guangdong Women and Children′s Hospital and transported from other hospital. Method s Clinical data of 755 premature infants with ROP at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Guangdong Women and Children′s Hospital from January 2013 to December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 239 cases born in the hospital and 516 cases transported from other hospitals.Their gestational age, birth weight, gender, severity of ROP lesion and clinical data were collected and compared. Result s The birth weight in the group of transported from other hospital was lower than that in the group of born in the hospital[(1 290.64±392.87) g vs.(1 586.21±512.74) g], and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001). The ROP diagnosis of gestational age in the group of transported from other hospital was higher than that in the group of born in the hospital[(35.53±2.81)weeks vs.(34.51±2.17)weeks], and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001). On the proportion of severe condition [such as lesion area Ⅰ, aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity(AP-ROP) and plus combined lesions], in the group of transported from other hospital was higher than that in the group of born in the hospital, and the differences was statistically significant(P<0.001). In the comparison of the proportion of laser photocoagulation, vitreous injection, combination of the two operations and supplementary laser therapy, in the group of transported from other hospital were higher than those in the group of born in the hospital[60.1%(310/516 cases) vs.20.9%(50/239 cases); 10.9%(56/516 cases) vs.2.5%(6/239 cases); 8.1%(42/516 cases) vs.1.7%(4/239 cases); 4.5%(23/516 cases) vs.1.3%(3/239 cases)], and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.001). Conclusions Premature infants with ROP transported from other hospitals have lower birth weight, severe ROP lesions and high surgical intervention rate.Improving ROP screening level in primary hospitals, timely diagnosis and efficient transportation can help to effectively prevent the deterioration of ROP in premature infants and improve their quality of life. Retrospective analysis of clinical and follow-up data of a child with primary hypomagnesemia and secondary hypocalcemia admitted to the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The patient is an 8-month-old boy with clinical manifestations of convulsions, growth and development delays, and mental retardation during infancy. After symptomatic treatment such as magnesium supplementation, the clinical symptoms of the child are relieved. Finally, compound heterozygous mutations in the TRPM6 gene of the patient were detected through subtotal exon sequencing, with c.5386A>T (p.K1796X) and c.453, respectively_ 454del (p.M151fs). Gene testing is the gold standard for diagnosing this disease, and this study found two new mutations in the TRPM6 gene.

Objective To investigate the molecular characteristic and antimicrobial resistance of Staphyloco-ccus aureus (S.aureus) isolated from children with pneumonia, in order to provide the evidence for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Method s The S.aureus strains isolated from children diagnosed as S.aureus pneumonia in the Beijing Children′s Hospital, Capital Medical University, between January 2016 and March 2017 were collected.Methicillin-resistant S.aureus(MRSA)and Methicillin-susceptible S.aureus(MSSA)were identified using the cefoxitin disc method and the detection of the mecA gene.S.aureus isolates were characterized by multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and Staphylococcal protein A (spa) typing, and MRSA strains were characterized by Staphylococcal chromosome cassette (SCCmec) typing.Besides, 21 superantigens (SAgs) genes, panton-valentine leucocidin (PVL) genes, adhesion genes fnbb and cna were detected by PCR; E-test was used to detect in vitro drug sensitivity of 14 antibiotics. Result s A total of 42 S.aureus were collected, and 21 isolates were MSSA, the same to MRSA, while MSSA strains had relatively dispersed typing, with ST25-t078 (14.2%) as the most common one.ST59-SCCmecⅣa-t437 (71.4%) were the most predominant clones of MRSA.Of the 42 isolates, 36 strains (85.7%) had at least 1 superantigen gene, and sek-seq (21.4%) was the main virulence genotype. The ratio of pvl in MRSA strains (52.3%)was significantly higher than that in MSSA strains (14.2%), while the detection rate of fnbB and cna in MRSA(9.5%, 9.5%) was significantly lower than that in MSSA(42.8%, 47.6%), and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Ninety point four percent (38/42 strains) of the S.aureus isolates were multidrug resistant. Conclusions In children with S.aureus pneumonia, MRSA has a high detection rate, and its dominant clonotype is ST59-SCCmecⅣa-t437.The pre-valence of superantigen genes and the multidrug resistant rate of S.aureus are relatively high.MRSA strains often carry pvl, while MSSA strains usually carry fnbB and cna gene. Rolandic epilepsy (RE), also known as benign epilepsy of childhood with centrotemporal spikes (BECTS), is the most common childhood idiopathic epilepsy syndrome. In the past, RE was often thought to have a good prognosis and usually disappeared spontaneously before puberty. However, Aicardi and Chevrie proposed the concept of RE variant (ARE) in 1982, and claimed that the clinical and electrophysiological manifestations of some RE children patients were in accordance with the characteristics of RE at the early stage of onset, but the clinical and EEG deteriorated during the course of the disease.RE is now considered to be a continuous epileptic-aphasia spectrum (EAS) disorder that causes mild to severe brain damage, often accompanied by varying degrees of cognitive and speech dysfunction. The etiology of RE is complex, and its pathogenesis is still not quite clear. With the development of molecular genetics, a complex interplay between the polygenic inheritance and environment has been found contributed to the etiology of RE.In addition, many striking genes are discovered. In this review, recent gene findings associated with RE were stressed, and the molecular biological characteristics and variants of related genes (GRIN2A, KCNQ2, KCNQ3, DEPDC5, ELP4-PAX6, GABAA-R, RBFOX1/3), clinical-gene correlation and variants-function investigation were described in detail in order to help with interpretation of clinical gene report clinical diagnosis of RE.
