Quantitative Evaluation of Histomorphometry 组织形态学定量评价

We use the intense light coming from a third generation synchrotron source to perform computed tomography (CT) with micro-resolution and high material contrast. This unique tool allows for shedding light on methodical errors which are involved when applying classical histomorphometry. The tomographic approach using X-rays is not only non-destructive, it also allows for an analysis in a true 3D manner. Thus, it delivers knowledge of which is important to fully understand e. g. bone regeneration.

Measuring Molecular Dynamics 测量分子动力学

Obtaining information on the mobility of molecules in biomaterials is of interest to many fields in the life sciences, such as for cell biology and pharmacy. Advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques are available to this end and are constantly being improved. Here we will introduce the reader to three of the most important ones, FRAP, FCS and SPT, and briefly discuss how these techniques have been of use for our research in the drug delivery field.

Thermography is the name given to the process of making heat radiation visible. If heat is introduced into a system in a targeted way, then the process is known as “active thermography” or “heat flux thermography”.

The deep tissue penetration of nonlinear microscopy and the high detection efficiency of a spectrograph are utilized to record spectral images of the intrinsic emission of living mouse skin tissues. Visualization of the spectral images by wavelength-to-RGB color conversion allowed identification and discrimination of tissue structures Nonlinear spectral imaging microscopy (NSIM) can provide a wealth of information not easily obtainable with present conventional nonlinear imaging systems.

HAADF and EELS Study of ULK Dielectrics ULK电介质的HAADF和EELS研究

The ITRS requires the integration of dielectric materials with effective dielectric constant (k) lower than 2.8. This is achieved using porous SiOCH. Unfortunately during integration in the devices, damages are introduced in the low-k layer by CMP. The impact of these damages on the microstructure and the electronic properties are studied using HAADF imaging and Valence Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy in TEM environment. Results are compared to low-k capped with an etch stop layer.
