Roundabout is a type of intersection which improves efficiency and safety performance compared to other types of intersection. Jawalakhel roundabout serves to minimize the resulting conflict between the vehicles; however, due to increasing vehicular movements it is facing challenges like delay, poor level of service and traffic congestion. Classified traffic volume study through videographic survey is carried out and the volume is converted to passenger car unit at morning and evening peak period. SIDRA intersection V 8.0 was used for simulation and analysis of intersection’s performance. The performance is accessed in terms of delay, degree of saturation, level of service & 95% of queue vehicles were calculated for existing condition. As the operational performance was found unsatisfactory with level of service F; alternatives were considered. Among alternatives, roundabout metering on two approaches was adopted and their respective impact on the operational performance was analyzed. The overall roundabout improvement was not observed on two alternates of roundabout metering.

Intersections in urban areas can often cause significant traffic delays due to the multiple directions of traffic flow. The Kathmandu Valley experiences chronic gridlock and congestion. This study aims to improve traffic flow at two busy intersections (Kanti Children's Hospital and Shital Niwas) in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal through evaluation of the existing traffic flow condition and reducing delays and queues using various alternatives and including signal coordination. A survey was carried out to collect morning peak hour traffic volume and geometrical features of the two intersections and developed a signalized intersection model in SIDRA software. The model was validated based on observed and modelled queue lengths for each approach, and the existing performance of the intersections was evaluated. Various alternatives were then developed to improve the performance of the intersections. Results showed that coordinating the signal systems significantly reduced the average delay time and maximum queue length at both intersections. Specifically, the average delay time was reduced from 106 seconds per vehicle to 26.5 seconds per vehicle at the Shital Nivas intersection and from 43.1 seconds per vehicle to 21.7 seconds per vehicle at Kanti Children's Hospital intersection. Similarly, the maximum queue length was reduced from 744.7 meters to 122 meters at the Shital Nivas intersection and from 456.2 meters to 147.7 meters at Kanti Children's Hospital intersection.

Bicycle is a non-motorized vehicle which is used to travel for short-distances in the communities and it’s a mode choice for lowincome group. Generally, the infrastructure related to active modes of transport is neglected and by this the active modes user’s faces hard times in regarding safety and are more vulnerable to accidents while travelling on the road. So, it is important to consider active mode users in planning with equal importance to all the road users. The purpose of study is to emphasis on the importance of facility provision for bicycle use and to provide an overview over the evaluation parameters that are used in the assessing the road with respect to user comfort i.e., use of bicycle level of service (BLOS) to evaluate the existing facilities and to make necessary amendments to provide better facilities to the users in terms of safety and comfort.

Public transport refers to the transport that is used by the public like bus, auto, van, etc. for travelling at various locations. Public transport makes the travel very safe and comfortable and easily a number of the public can travel at the same time which helps to reduce traffic congestion in the city. This research paper consists of a study and analysis of public transport in the Panna city Madhya Pradesh. The analysis is done with the help of a questionnaire made for road interview survey and after that modeling is done for trip attraction and production and trips produced by each household by regression method and gravity model of trip generation and the public route is proposed for travelling inside the city after analysis with this a feasibility of public transport is made for Panna city.

The development of any city majorly depends on efficient transportation planning. There are many different problems faced by small urban cities due to which the public is facing lots of inconvenience like public transport, culvert overflow, traffic congestion, lack of traffic signals etc. In most of the small urban cities in India, there are very few public transports available in the city due to this people use their own vehicle which increases traffic congestion. This also affects the environment by increasing noise and air pollution. Lack of traffic signals leads to improper flow of vehicles in the city which results in more chances of road accidents. In the rainy season from low height culverts, water overflows by that pedestrian as well as traffic flow gets affected. This is the review paper of various researches done on problems faced by small Indian cities and this will help us to suggest how it can be minimized.

As increase of urbanization in small cities population is increasing day by day. So the proper planning of transport is needed because small and medium sized cities face a variety of transport planning challenges. This paper deals with the review of study and analysis of transport planning of small cities, with the help of various methodology adopted by different research, review is done this can be done by respecting the town specific characteristics and regional growth trends because small cities lack a detailed database planning, so the proper master plan should be prepared to guide the transport planning of cities.

With the increased number of vehicles, parking supplies should meet parking demands. In urban areas due to Irregular construction and excessive population growth cities required re-planning and site selection of parking places. In this have a look at, technical evaluation became developed to determine vicinity-based totally parking call for with the aid of the use of Geographic data gadget (GIS). After doing observe on parking call for and deliver balance, the region-allocation strategies have been implemented to decide the great places of parking, depending on parking call for. This technical tool becomes tested for an urban location. As a result, a creative records processing method became evolved to determine the quality locations of vehicle parking. Geographic statistics structures (GIS) technology has been used for a numerous plans inside the transportation industry. This GIS device has come with many new makes use of, benefits, and demanding situations. This challenge can display the ability of GIS to help transportation evaluation and planning.
