This focus on acquired oculomotor paralysis (AOP) takes the approach of avoiding a classical, topographical approach to AOP in favor of a more global approach to positive and differential diagnosis. The aim is to try to identify common features that should alert the clinician and prompt an etiological assessment and treatment.

Diplopie post-AVC AVC后外交
Pub Date : 2023-04-01 DOI: 10.1016/j.rfo.2022.10.007
Christine Pinon-Desclaux (Orthoptiste)

Mrs. I (47 years old) victim of a post embolization stroke, describes a diplopia that leads to a disability. Orthoptic management, by proposing a prismatic aid regularly adapted then removed, by consolidating binocular vision, allows to restore a better quality of life.

Pub Date : 2023-04-01 DOI: 10.1016/j.rfo.2023.04.005
Malvina Beltrami

The case of Mrs. D. shows a recurrence of episodes of oculomotor paralysis explored by magnetic resonance imaging for several years. However, after the fourth paralysis, a biological assessment completed the exploration and pointed to a GCA. The case of Mrs. D. perfectly illustrates the interest of systematically searching for an inflammatory syndrome before any oculomotor paralysis.

Marie-Odile Pataut-Renard (Orthoptiste)

Total paralysis of the VI leads the orthoptist to consider various solutions in order to relieve the very disabling diplopia. Occlusion and prismation are in this case often poorly supported and faced with little evolution in the more or less long term, other treatments are put in place to allow the patient to recover an essential quality of life on a daily basis.

Pub Date : 2023-01-01 DOI: 10.1016/j.rfo.2023.01.005

Exudative ARMD is a pathology that affects more than 8 % of the french population with an increased risk beyond the age of 50. Previously, screening was carried out using angiograms, but with the development of technologies and the appearance of OCT and OCTA, it is now possible to detect and monitor new vessels in a non-invasive way.
