Farmer Satisfaction on Concentrate Feed Produced by Dairy Feed Mill Cooperative: A Case Study 农民对奶牛饲料加工合作社生产的精料饲料的满意度:个案研究

The aims of this study were to evaluate the quality of feedstuff as concentrate feed raw material, the quality of feed concentrate, and customer satisfaction toward concentrate quality produced by the cooperative. The parameters observed were nutrient contents (moisture, ash, crude protein, crude fat, and crude fibre) and physical quality (density, bulk density, and compacted bulk density). Farmer satisfaction was measured using customer satisfaction index (CSI) and gap analysis. The data obtained consisted of primary data (nutrient content of feedstuff and physical quality) and secondary data (nutrient content of concentrates) that were then analysed descriptively. Total respondents in the satisfaction analysis were 100 farmers. The results of this study indicated that feedstuff nutrient content varied, even though corn gluten feed (CGF) was in the range of Indonesian National Standards (SNI). The highest density and bulk density were limestone, and the highest compacted bulk density was salt, while the lowest physical quality was coffee chaff. Nutrient content of concentrate complied with SNI except for crude fat content. Meanwhile, the physical quality of the concentrate was still within the normal range. Farmer satisfaction was in the satisfied category with the highest gap values absence of foreign objects. Key words:        concentrate feed, CSI, farmer satisfaction, feedstuff, quality

Impact of Inoculant Sources on Feed in Vitro Fermentability and Digestibility 接种剂来源对饲料体外发酵和消化率的影响

The aim of this research is to compare alternative inoculant source for in vitro rumen fermentation. In the first experiment, inoculant from fistulated cattle kept in LIPI and IPB (Fis1 and Fis2) and inoculant from Bogor municipality abattoir and IPB abattoir (Abo1 and Abo2) were tested for their pH, total bacterial count, and protozoal number using a complete block design with four replications. In the second experiment, the effect of the inoculant sources was tested on cornmeal (F1), soybean oil meal (F2), Napier grass (F3), and dairy cattle complete ration (F4) fermentability and digestibility including pH, VFA, NH3, IVDMD and IVOMD parameters. The results showed an unsignificant different protozoal number among inoculant sources. The pH of Fis2 rumen liquor was significantly lower (p<0.05) than others. The bacterial population was significantly higher (p<0.05) in Fis2 and Abo2 than Abo1, and Fis1. The inoculant pH after feed fermentability was not influenced by feed type but inoculant source with Fis1 was significantly higher (p<0.05) than Fis2, Abo2, and Abo1. The ammonia, VFA concentration, IVDMD, and IVOMD were influenced by interaction between inoculant sources and feed types. Although inoculant from cattle close to the laboratory (Fis2 and Abo2) were better in term of higher bacterial population, higher fermentability and digestibility for most type of feeds but other sources can be used in vitro study without differences in average fermentability and digestibility results. Keragaan Agronomi Rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpureum cv Taiwan) Hasil Irradiasi Sinar Gamma

The objective of this study was to determine the agronomic diversity of gamma-ray at 50 Gray dose   during the phase of embryogenetic callus in napier grass cv Taiwan. This research used a randomized blok design (RBD) of gamma-ray and without radiation elephant grasses (P. purpureum cv Taiwan). There were 51 numbers in irradiated elephant grass, each number three replicated and five plant per number each. Without irradiation control used elephant grass (P. purpureum cv Taiwan); there were 10 clumps in one block and each line number had been repeated three times. Gamma radiation showed no impact on plant height and stem weight (dry weight) at P>0.05, but had a significant effect on number of tillers, leaf length, leaf width, total weight, fresh weight, leaf (dry weight), weight of stem (fresh weight). Gamma ray irradiation selection does not have to generate high output but can be developed on sub optimal soil or extreme weather conditions such as tolerant felling, which requires less high plant. 摘要本研究的目的是测定50 Gray剂量下台湾樟子草胚性愈伤组织阶段γ射线的农艺多样性。本研究采用随机区组设计(RBD),选取有辐射和无辐射的象草(P. purpureum cv Taiwan)。辐照象草共有51个株数,每个株数复制3株,每个株数5株。无辐照控制的象草(P. purpureum cv Taiwan);一个块中有10个团块,每个行号重复三次。γ辐射对植株高和茎重(干重)无显著影响(P>0.05),但对分蘖数、叶长、叶宽、总重、鲜重、叶(干重)、茎重(鲜重)有显著影响(P>0.05)。伽马射线辐照选择不一定产生高产量,但可以在次优土壤或极端天气条件下开发,例如耐受砍伐,这需要较少的高植物。关键词:多样性,饲料,辐照

Suplementasi Sari Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) dalam Air Minum terhadap Produktivitas Telur Puyuh 补充水分中的卵泡(Averrhoa bilimbi L)会影响鹌鹑蛋的生产力

Supplementation of Averrhoa bilimbi L. juice which contains vitamin C and organic acid in drinking water has been proposed to reduce the effect of heat stress on the quail layer.  So this is expected to increase the productivity of quail and their egg quality. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of A. bilimbi juice supplementation in quail drinking water on quail performance,  physical quality of egg, and egg yolk antioxidant level. Two hundred and forty birds aged 4-5 weeks were maintained for 42 days. A Completely Randomized Design was used in this study with 4 treatments. Each treatment has 4 replications and 15 quails in each replications. Addition of Vita Chick (P0) to the drinking water was used as a positive control. The treatments given were the addition of A. bilimbi extract with different levels of 0% (P1), 2.5% (P2), and  5% (P3) respectively. The variables observed were quail performance, physical egg quality, and egg yolk antioxidant levels. The results showed that the  physical quality of quail eggs obtained were the weight of albumen and egg shells did not different all treatments. The  addition of A. bilimbi juice in drinking water  has affected on the weight and percentage of albumen, eggshell, and Haugh Unit. The addition of 2.5% of A.bilimbi juice (P2)  had the lowest feed conversion ratio (FCR). However it showed the highest Haugh Unit number of the egg. There was no different effect of the highest dose of A. bilimbi juice (5%, P3) on the egg yolk antioxidant  activity and capacity (41.54%  and 23.91 ppm respectively).  It was concluded that supplementation of A. bilimbi juice in drinker water  could  changed to antistress drug commercial.

Penggunaan Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) dalam Pakan Terhadap Performa Kalkun (Meleagris gallopavo) 蒲公英(Taraxacum officinale)对火鸡表现的使用(melagris gallopavo)

The aim of this study was to evaluate fresh dandelion leaves on  turkey performance. The study used a complete randomized design of 4 treatments and 6 replications. A total number of 24 turkeys (Meleagris gallapavo)-12 week-old were used in this 5 weeks of feed trial. The experimental animals were fed with the diet containing  37% of commercial broiler starter diet, 40% rice bran and forage (water hyacinth and fresh dandelion leaves).  The treatments with fresh dandelion leaves addition were P0: 0%, P1: 5%, P2: 10%, and P3: 15%. The variables observed were bio active compound in dandelion leaves, daily behavior and turkey performance.  Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the significant differences between treatments were analyzed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that dandelion leaves contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids, vitamin D were 17.37 ppm and antioxidants IC50 have an antioxidant activity with a value of 102.31. Observation of daily behavior showed that turkeys behavior was dominated by eating and resting activities, where the highest frequency of resting activities was 0.43 per second (P0). Turkey performance were not significantly different on feed consumption, carcass weight, carcass percentage for all treatments but  significantly different  (p<0.05) on  average daily gain (AVG) and feed conversion ratio. Therefore it can be concluded that fresh dendelion leaves are able to used up to 15% in turkey diet. The variables observed were bio active compound in dandelion leaves, daily behavior and turkey performance.  Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the significant differences between treatments were analyzed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that dandelion leaves contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids, vitamin D were 17.37 ppm and antioxidants IC50 have an antioxidant activity with a value of 102.31. Observation of daily behavior showed that turkeys behavior was dominated by eating and resting activities, where the highest frequency of resting activities was 0.43 per second (P0). Turkey performance were not significantly different on feed consumption, carcass weight, carcass percentage for all treatments but  significantly different  (p<0.05) on  average daily gain (AVG) and feed conversion ratio. PenggunaanTepung Kulit Pisang dalam Ransum terhadap Kadar Kolesterol, Vitamin A, Profil Asam Lemak Kuning Telur Ayam Arab

The aim of this research was to measure the effect of yellow corn substitution with banana peel meal as a beta-carotene and antioxidant source in the chicken diet on cholesterol, vitamin A and fatty acid profiles of egg yolk Arab chicken. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and significant differences between the treatments were analyzed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. Eighty pullet of Arabic chickens (19 weeks old) were randomly assigned to four treatment diets with four replications for 6 weeks of fed trials. Dietary treatments consisted of R0  (0%) banana peel meal (TP) : 50% yellow corn (JK)  and 3 levels of yellow corn and banana peel.  The composition of yellow corn and banana peel meal used R1 (20 % TP ; 30% JK), R2 (30% TP : 20% JG) and  R3 (40% TP :10% JG).  The variables observed were production performance, cholesterol, vitamin A and fatty acid profile of the egg yolk. The results showed that egg yolk cholesterol levels were not significantly different compared to the control.  Substitution of yellow corn with banana peel meal had increased vitamin A level up to 49% compared to the control.  There was no difference in fatty acid profiles in all treatments observed.  It is concluded that banana peel meal can be used  to substitute 40 % of yellow corn in the chicken diet and tend to increased vitamin A of egg yolk. The aim of the study was to evaluated the effect of giving water hyacinth and fish oil in quail diet on the performance, egg cholesterol and egg fatty acid profile. This study used 200 unsex day old quail divided into 5 treatments and 4 replications that were reared 5 weeks and then selected male or female. The  results of sexing quail  at week 5  were 95 females and 86 males. Growth period diets (0-5 weeks) contains 24% crude protein and metabolic energy of 2900 kcal kg-1 and  production period diets (5-12 weeks) contains 22% crude protein and 2900 kcal kg-1. The experimental design used  a completely randomized design with the treatment of using water hyacinth that was 0%,1%, 2%, 3 % and 4% with fish oil which was 0%, 4%, 5%, 6% and 7% in quail diet. The variables measured were quail performance (0-5 week age and 5-12 week age), egg cholesterol, and  egg fatty acid profile. The results showed that using of water hyacinth meal 1% -4% and fish oil 4%-5% in the diet of the growth period resulted in higher feed consumption and body weight gain than diet without water hyacinth and fish oil but feed conversion rasio were same. Quail performance of the production period was not affected by all treatments. Unsaturated fatty acids tend to increased in quail eggs. The lowest cholesterol level of quail eggs was by giving 2% of water hyacinth meal and 5% of fish oil in the diet. It was concluded that water hyacinth can be used as local feed ingredients in quail diet until 4%. Evaluasi Potensi Produksi dan Kualitas Tumbuhan Penutup Tanah sebagai Hijauan Pakan di Bawah Naungan Perkebunan di Jawa Barat 评估西爪哇种植园内植物的生产和生产潜力

Cover crop diversity under plantation area has potency to supply forage for animal farming. The research aim was to evaluate cover crop vegetation and to estimate plant production and quality under plantation at West Java. This research was conducted from May 2018 to April 2019 at public and private company around Bogor, Banten, Kuningan and Garut. In each area, there were selected 10 plots for plant identification with sample size was 50 cm x 50 cm.  Biomass production and nutrient quality was sampled through 3 plots with sample size was 100 cm x 100 cm, forage was harvested and weighed then analyzed by proximate analysis.  Diversity and biomass production were analyzed by R 3.6.2 software through Analysis of Variance(ANOVA) based on environment differences, then the significant results analyzed by LSD Test.   The results showed that the highest biomass was sampled in Bogor i.e. 359 g m‑2 ±164.08 g m‑2 fresh weight and 71.22 g m‑2 ±45.91 g m-2 dry weight. Cover crop diversity varied around two to 32 species with percentage of area cover around 10-90%.  Potential plants as forage were Panicum repens (lempuyangan), Paspalum conjugatum (jukut pahit) and Asystasia gangetica (ara sungsang).  Dry matter content of composite forage was 18.3%-31.6%, crude protein was 4.57%-10.8%, crude fiber was 21.3%-25.7% and ashreached 11.2%-15.9%.  It can be concluded that cover crop under plantation have potency to supply forage, especially in Bogor, however concentrate addition is needed to fulfil nutrient animal requirement due to the low quality forage. Pengaruh Kandungan Protein Ransum yang Berbeda terhadap Kecernaan dan Fermentabilitas Rumen Sapi Perah secara In vitro 蛋白质含量不同的影响消化和奶牛奶牛场的可行性

The most of protein requirement for cows is fulfilled by microbial protein. Increasing the protein from ration usually influences the milk production in dairy cows. However, the availability of dietary protein should support rumen ecosystem through microbial activity in the fermentation and digestion process. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protein levels of dairy cow ration on the rumen fermentability and digestibility using an in vitro method. Randomized block design with three levels of protein ration as a treatment and three times taken of rumen liquor as a block. The treatments were: R1= ration with low protein; R2= ration with moderate protein and R3= ration with high protein. The measured parameters were rumen fermentability (total VFA, N-NH3 and pH), in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) and in vitro organic matter digestibility  (IVOMD). The results showed that there were significantly increase in dry and organic matter digestibility (p<0.05), due to increasing the level of dietary protein, but there was no effect in the fermentability, except a slight increase in N-NH3 concentration. The conclusion of this study was the highest level of protein ration enhances the digestibility, and showed a tendency for higher N-NH3. SUPLEMENTASI JUS DAUN PEGAGAN DAN LIMBAH WORTEL TERHADAP PRODUKTIVITAS PUYUH JANTAN (Cortunix cortunix japonica) 补充弹簧叶汁和胡萝卜浪费对雄鹌鹑生产力的影响(Cortunix Cortunix japonica)

The purpose of this study was to compare commercial vitamin supplements to natural vitamins derived from pegagan leaves and carrot waste on drinking water. This experiment was designed as a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replicates; Control was drinking water without supplements (P1), drinking water with supplementation of commercial vitamin (P2), drinking water with carrot waste and pegagan leaves juice 5% (P3) , 10% (P4) and 15% (P4) tested to 150 male quails that were reared up to 3 months. The variables observed were performance of male quail that includes feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, initial weight, final body weight, carcass weight, and level of MDA (Malonaldehyde)  quail meat. The results of this study showed the treatments of addition supplement have no significant effect  on quail performance (feed consumption, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, initial weight, final body weight, carcass weight), but the treatment of 5% pegagan leaves juice and carrot waste significantly increased level of MDA quail meat 55.652 % compared to control. It is concluded that supplementation of pegagan leaves and carrot waste in drinking   can increase MDA  of quail meat.
本研究的目的是比较商业维生素补充剂与天然维生素从芦笋叶和胡萝卜废料中提取的饮用水。试验采用完全随机设计,5个处理,3个重复;以饲养3个月的150只雄性鹌鹑为试验对象,分别饲喂不添加补充剂的饮用水(P1)、添加商业维生素的饮用水(P2)、添加胡萝卜渣和芦笋叶汁5% (P3)、10% (P4)和15% (P4)的饮用水。观察的变量包括雄性鹌鹑的饲料消耗量、增重、饲料系数、初始体重、最终体重、胴体体重和鹌鹑肉丙二醛水平。结果表明:饲粮添加对鹌鹑的生产性能(耗料量、增重、饲料系数、初重、终重、胴体重)无显著影响,但添加5% pegagan叶汁和胡萝卜渣可使鹌鹑肉MDA水平较对照组显著提高55.652%。由此可见,饮用中添加芦笋叶和胡萝卜渣可提高鹌鹑肉的丙二醛含量。
